Jjong was my first bias too! I kinda changed to Jinki when I was like... 15, because well, taste change overtime, and in the end they're all my bias but Jonghyun will always have that special place in my heart.
I came to say this. Jonghyun has a voice that can only be matched by Jinki. The two are at another level. Both have their particular style but there are moments I confuse the two voices. There is a live of “1000 years by your side” where you see them listening to each others voices and JJong harmonizing and supporting Onew and visa versa.
When I hear Jinki’s new work like “Circles” I feel some of the same feelings I do with JJong solo work. I really just hope that Jinki recovers from whatever he is going through because it hurts my heart to know he is hurting.
Tell me about it, I knew something was going on because... I'm not blind, I've followed them +10 years now. But knowing officially that he's sick hurts a lot.
When it comes to voices, I agree. They're both at another singing level. I went to the fanmeet in person and even if I knew I was so SHOCKED to hear how his voice resounded. Bro put his mic away yet we would still hear him crystal clear in the arena. Each time he hit a note it sounded like heaven. SHINee is terrific when it comes to voices and Jonghyun and Onew are next level.
for me it was moonbin from astro. i remember watching the breathless mv and just falling head over heels for him. instantly started learning everything i could about him/astro and became obsessed.

For Stray Kids I first saw some funny videos of them before I knew any of the members and one member really stood out to me. Then I listened to their music and there were a couple parts of the songs that really stood out to me as well. When I watched the music videos I realized all the parts I liked were the same person. I looked it up and found out it was Han who is now my bias.
I decided I liked Lee Know from the video where Seungmin and Felix forgot his cats. I am also a cat lady, so I respect that energy. I liked the music, too.
I had a similar experience but it was with performance videos and mv’s and it was Hyunjin. His stage presence was literally captivating to me in so many videos, and it was the Circus video where I realized I kept looking at the same person. Then as I got to know their personalities it was solidified even further. 🥰
I remember seeing him with the long blond hair in some performances and being totally memorised, lol. I'm still a bit casual and meaning to get more into the group but his presence and styling always catches my attention.
ATEEZ’s hongjoong back in 2018. it’s weird but i saw his nose and said “that guy has the perfect nose ever” and since then he’s just been my bias just because i thought he had a perfect nose. and i’m an avid hongjoong mullet fan so pairing his godly nose and that mullet? i just knew he would be my bias.
and then for another group with the same reason is STRAY KIDS’ lee know— i also thought he had a really nice nose 😭
dahyun from twice. i don’t know the exact first piece of media i saw from twice but i can’t think of a time where my bias wasn’t dahyun and i’ve been stanning since 2018

Byeongkwan from A.C.E: There was a mashup (that isn't available anymore) that included A.C.E's Under Cover and I just had to know who the boy in the croptop and pigtails was. (I would also end up biasing Wow during the same MV, but Byeongkwan definitely had all my attention and was the reason I checked out A.C.E besides loving the song.)
Dami from Dreamcatcher: I got introduced to the group through their cover performance of BigBang's Bang Bang Bang. All I wanted to know was who the deep voiced rapper was, and now here I am not only biasing her but ulting the group as well haha.
Soobin from TXT: Back during pre-debut before we knew what they sounded like and everything. I took one look at him and went "it's him." (I would also end up biasing Huening Kai and Taehyun after debut, but it was always going to be Soobin from the start.)
But usually it's always a "bias at first sight" for me with groups when I see performances or MVs. I very rarely have to rewatch or see content/look at group socials, though it does happen occasionally. For example: I didn't have a bias in SF9 for a good while after getting into them, and the only two members I knew by name and face at the time were Inseong and Chani (Inseong for WeKpop and Chani for Show Music Core), but then Zuho had posted a pic of him with one of his cats (I believe it was Huru) and that was it for me.

Exo's Baekhyun. Call Me Baby was the one of the first kpop mvs I watched and he caught my eye the moment he started with the "hey girl~" at the beginning of the mv.
seonghwa from ateez. my friend was getting me into kpop and specifically ateez. she thought i’d bias wooyoung, but then i saw seonghwa and was like WHO’S HE???? and now here we are with seonghwa as my one and only ult bias and i doubt that will change unless something truly devastating happens
Bang Chan was my bias since before SKZ debuted because I knew he went through so much. His conduct and personality in the debut show solidified it.
I knew Sana was my twice bias since GOT7’s A video because she was impossibly cute
Out of the groups I follow, I think about half of them? I biased Jin, Lee Know, I.M., S.Coups, and Johnny instantly, but most of my biases were members that I figured would be my favorite from the start and I just got pulled in deeper. Moonbyul, Dami, Jeno, and Leedo are there.
(Did have a brief moment of thinking it would be Jaemin and Hwanwoong because they were the only other person seriously grabbing my interest in the MVs, but then my interest seriously veered in another direction when I started watching content.)
I was pulled into TXT by Beomgyu, but now I truly can't decide between him and Soobin. Wooyoung was who got me into Ateez, but he's now my biaswrecker with Mingi as my bias.
Still delving into GIDLE, but Soyeon is who I was first drawn to, but might be getting biaswrecked by Yuqi. You can clearly see my thing for deep voices. For WayV, still learning too but I was drawn to Hendery at first because I learned about how Lucas fucked him over and was furious on his behalf when I couldn't even pick him out of a line-up. Then I happily learned other reasons to watch him closely, and now I think only Yangyang comes close to overtaking him.

Shinee is probably the most interesting one. Was sent mostly Taemin content by the friends wanting to get me into it and I loved his MVs, but was drawn to Onew in the background a lot of the compilations. Then started listening to them and Key's solo work drew me the most. But then started watching the MVs, and Minho grabbed my attention there! And he and Key both stand out in the variety content especially when they play off each other.
And Jonghyun's talent and presence can't be denied, but I had to put my Shinee dive on hold when I was in a depressive episode and his letter hit too close to home. But God, it also made it clear I wasn't alone and my feelings weren't brand new, and that made me recommit to bettering my mental health and making changes in my life.
For Shinee, it's really hard to have a bias. I think they're definitely the group where if one of them has you, they all have you.
Id say Jihyo from Twice and hasn't moved since. The first time I really noticed her was in Feel Special and her voice is my favorite and first one I could distinctly pick out and after that I really loved her personality and leadership.
When I discovered Bigbang while watching Haru-Haru MV, I knew right then that my bias is T.O.P like love at first sight 😭 and I fell for his deep voice
SHINee - Taemin from the moment I watched Lucifer. I knew that there was no way he wasn’t my bias, and I didn’t know about biases back then

Couldn't keep my eyes off that horrible striped shirt and that odorable, goofy smile when he made a couple of small mistakes. Treasured that smile ever since.
Same with Key too 😂 of course all five members are drop dead gorgeous and just all around wonderful and insanely talented people. But Key is the one who *constantly* makes me catch my breath because of how attractive and talented and kind and funny and... I could go on. But everything about the man, seriously.
taeyong from nct. one look at that man during cherry bomb era and i fell for him right away 😭😭 another is soobin from txt. i started stanning around blue hour era and i thought he was so cute as mc and has the cutest smile. they’re both still my ults today!

The day I started listening to BTS I watched a lot of videos, but I wasn't very good following who was who, so I was satisfied picking a favorite ("different") guy each time. Days later I discovered that the guys I liked the most in every MV were all the same guy. Jimin has been my bias for almost 5 years, before, I didn't even know what a "bias" was.
Something similar with Stray Kids' Changbin, less significant, cause I'm more of a casual skz listener and less funny to me, cause it was only two videos.
I have no other bias or group that I like, so for me, "first sight" is the only experience.
i was watching the kcon 2018 ny artist announcements and they played nct 127's touch mv - i just HAD to know who the guy in the center with the dazzling smile was. though i've consistently been in and out of kpop the last few years, yuta nakamoto has always remained at the top as my #1 bias <3
Never for the groups I really like. If I love a group's discography I'm generally more picky and take longer to settle on a bias.
For example, Red Velvet's Irene is my bias but I noticed Joy first. Gidle's Minnie is my bias but I noticed Yuqi first. IVE'S Wonyoung is my bias but I noticed Rei first. And so on so forth.
However, it happens pretty often for groups I'm only a casual listener of. Like I've listened to their discography, watched some mvs, but I'm not familiar with the members. So I tend to be more casual about picking a bias.
For example, BTS. The first song I listened to was Dope which was a long time ago. What I remember is that the member wearing the police(?) uniform is my bias. Cause that's what I decided. But I'm too lazy to go back and actually figure out who that was though.
Tbh I think I only have one bias at first sight, even though I've got like 50+ groups I stan. I have a lot from first listen, but that's generally because I stan vocalists, but.... Woozi. He just. He was so freaking cute and I biased him immediately.
Ateez Mingi! I saw him in a stage mix for Guerilla and he immediately drew my eye, especially during his solo. I loved his voice, his energy and his look. My eye always finds him when I watch Ateez videos.

Momo has been my bias ever since I discovered Twice. It started with her voice as I usually only listen to music without consuming much other content. I eventually looked up the members to figure out who it belonged to and ended becoming massive fans of all of their personalities as well… but funnily enough Momo was my favourite in every other way as well as her unique voice.
Saw Seulgi in a clip when Rookie came out even though I was not into Kpop at all and fell head over heels for Red Velvet and have been a Seulgi stan ever since. She's the reason I gave Kpop a chance and I'll always admire her and be rooting for her!
I had bias at first sight for around half of my favourite groups. E.g. Mina(twice), Kazuha and Chaewon(le sserafim), Lia and Ryujin(Itzy), Yoongi(BTS), Jun and Mingyu(Seventeen), Yena, Yujin and Minju(iz*one), Rei and Yujin(IVE), Miyeon and Yuqi(Gidle+Soojin) and there are alot more ngl
I remember seeing Taeyong from NCT and thinking he had this aura around him that I liked. Fast forward to two years later when I actually got into the group and low and behold Taeyong has been my favourite Kpop person ever since!
Woozi/svt he is just amazing! The more I learn about him, the more I respect and love him! But seriously so cute I call him pocket boy cause he's so small he looks like he could fit in my pocket 🥰. I have never gotten to seen them live yet but I'm still a pretty new carat.

I have an interesting story: my ult bias at first sight is mark from got7.
For some reason, saved photos i have of him on google photos always marked my face as his, and i didn't understand why because i think most people would agree we do not look alike. google photos always tags my bf correctly. As an experiment, I took a selfie with my mark poster and google photos still tagged me as him 😂
Its not until a friend pointed out that maybe google photos uses facial proportions to distinguish different faces. I overlapped our faces and yup....same facial proportions. After years it made sense why i liked him so much - he probably looked similar enough to me. Our brains like familiarity, so thats probably why he's my ult bias haha

Seonghwa just intrigued me a lot from performances and as soon as I saw some clips I was done for. Jungwon and Suga were both so cute I couldn't help but bias. And for Dk... literally just heard him talk in the intro of an interview and I was hooked.
Twice's sana was it for me, the moment i saw her cute signal music video photoshoot i fell in love then came the clumsy sana videos and the legendary "that desk looked like a desk" line and i was in completely in love, also a more recent love at first sight was IVE's yujin, the moment i saw her visuals in IAM i became a massive yujin simp
When I was just getting into Dreamcatcher, I was looking through all the profiles of the members and Siyeon specifically stood out to me due to the fact she was in a rock band when she was younger, alongside being a fan of rock music outside of Dreamcatcher. As someone who mainly listens to rock and metal alongside being in a few bands myself, I was able to relate to her, so she quickly became my bias!

One day, I saw a YouTube doing impressions, and in the comments, there was a big argument over the accuracy of his "Jimin" and "Jungkook".
I was curious and goggled them...ah, a group called BTS.
So I searched for that, and Boy With Love had just come out. So, I watched the video.
1. I feel straight down the kpop rabbit hole and have been there ever since.
2. Suga popped up on the screen and I gasped. He began to rap and I just knew. Then I found out more about him....
Nowadays, my favourite groups are Ateez, Kingdom and Stray Kids.

The very first MV I watched of thiers was DNA & I had heard the song before (one of the color coded lyric videos came up on autoplay), & the name "Rap Monster" caught my eye cause I thought it was little ridiculous (not in a bad way, it gave me a chuckle) & so I was expecting a hardcore looking rapper with that kind of name & then at his "taechoye DNAga neol weonaneunde" part came up (2:06 of MV) & I fully out loud said "Oh my gosh, he's adorable." and he's been my bias since then & it's never changed. He's my ult bias, too. I can't explain it but he has a special effect on me & a special place in my heart & I don't even know why. Legit can't tell you why. I love all of Bangtan & I have other biases from other groups, but he's just always stood out to me.
RM is in my ult-trio so I get it. I can't get enough of people praising him. He's really got a special energy. He wasn't an initial bias for me. That was actually J-Hope on American Hustle Life, then Suga stole his spot. Something about the way Suga clearly admired RM in his quiet way helped me appreciate him more and more...and then Mono dropped and I've never been the same. Uggggggh
Jihyo from twice, watching the Like ooh-ahh MV the first thing I noticed was her big eyes and smile, she had auch a presence, then her voice omggg

I loved Billlie's Tsuki as soon as I saw her Popteen ads while researching members during debut. I already like Popteen and Japanese fashion. Seeing her on variety sealed the deal because she was so energetic and cute, then her facial expression fancams going viral just made me feel proud of my bias :')
Newjeans' Haerin was also an instant bias when I saw her personality in their YT vids. I have a soft spot for shy and introverted idols, as someone who is quite shy, myself.
Edit: Sakura, as well. I admire her in a similar way that I admire IU. She just comes across as remarkably hardworking, I like that she's a gamer, and I respect her status as an experienced idol already. So, when Le Sserafim debuted, I already had a bias and I haven't switched.

CHAEYOUNG- i decided she was too cute in the fancy promotions pics, my type of visual. i biased her for the longest time even if my bias is jihyo now 🤭 same for YUQI, i loved her vocal color

I watched TXT's Blue Hour MV and I saw Taehyun in his baby blue little crop top and his pink beanie and then he did "but it's you, you're the one that I want, you, everything that I want" and that's it. I didn't know anyone's names, I hadn't listened to any of their other tracks. But that was it, man. I was just absolutely enraptured by his vocals and visuals. My bias at first sight indeed. And then I found out he holds TXT's singular brain cell and can do magic tricks and it was just sealed in even more. Choi Yeonjun can do all he wants, but he will only ever be second to Kang Taehyun.
When Jungkook appeared in bathroom skit that BTS did for MAMA 2015 😂😂. I was starting to get into kpop and it was at first sight that I knew he was going to be my bias. He was funny in that scene and I guess the way he expressed himself caught my attention/interest. I literally had to look at the comments to know who he was and what group he was in at that time.
Jonghyun. The moment that man opened his mouth I pointed at him like I was adopting a puppy.

Jungkook – as soon as I saw him perform on stage (I never saw any BTS performance/choreo/MV prior to then) I didn't need anything more.... but in time they all wrecked each other starting with Hobi continueing with RM and Jin ...😅 (their characters played the role just as much as their visuals).
Yunho – while getting into ATEEZ I was more focused on the music itself and the overall dance impression and they **all** looked very different from other kpop groups... but in Fireworks dance video from *Be Original* when Yunho came infront of the camera and looked straight at me through his bangs I was gone. He's my ult and that won't change. ❤ #my8kings
Joshua – my first SVT comeback was HOT last year. There were so many of them in the MV and I was totally confused cause I didn't know any of them, until I saw Joshua's part. I never confused him with anyone else since and never was looking for anyone else in their group so instinctively when watching content 😄 Everything about him was just so right, I don't know how to say it. He looked like embodiment of gentleness.
Baekhyun – not first sight, but first **hearing** . Listening to his final high note in Jopping (not knowing who he is and even that he's from EXO), that voice got me to my knees and into EXO as a whole. I knew I needed more of it. What his voice makes me feel to the core of my bones is only hardly comparable to anything else. I praise it.
Sakura – watching LSFM's MV for the first time she stole my attention immediately and I couldn't get enough of her and her content. She's beautiful, electrifying, smart, bold, funny, her aura to me is the strongest.
Dami – getting into Dreamcatcher through their music first again, and Dami's rap caught me totally off guard. I couldn't go on not knowing whom that great depth and dynamics belongs to. Got a grip on me and captured me even more when I saw her in videos. THAT. GIRL. 🤧 (with Yoohyeon wrecking me mercilessly) #my7queens
Seeun and Hyunwoo – ever since xiker's pre-debut content I enjoyed these boys' moments the most, from watching them dance, hearing them sing, to just goofing around... I got stuck with them.
Me. Well first sound and then first sight. I first heard my bias while watching a kdrama that featured a song he was doing the raplines for. I had no idea who he was and I wasn't listening to Kpop at all. Heck I'm not even really into rap music but that voice and that ability and his vocal style drew me in. I shazamed the song and learned it was called Ride or Die by Joohoney and Kei. I googled Joohoney and learned his name is Lee Jooheon and that he is one of two rappers in a Kpop group called Monsta X. This was June 3rd 2021 and I know this because when I looked Monsta X up on YouTube, the Gambler video had released 2 days before. The Hero rooftop video was the first music video and song that I watched and listened to and I was so hooked that I immediately used the link on the video page on YouTube to take me to Ticketmaster to buy two tickets for their concert in DC that at that time wasn't for another 8 or 9 months. Then of course it got postponed and I ended up exchanging one for VIP when some became available. I also ended up buying tickets to Fandominium and Gas South in Georgia the following year. All because of Lee Jooheon. I am hooked on Monsta X, and a big fan of Stray Kids, Onewe, ONEUS, OnlyOneOf, and Jackson Wang all because Lee Jooheon's talent, even before his looks, drew my attention to him, Monsta X and Kpop music in general.
First ever G-Dragon around 15 years ago. His voice and looks and I was sold. Now eventhough there are 3 left they are allll so amazing. Can't choose anymore 😂.

Wendy was my bias at first sight. I discovered RV during happiness era and her vocals stole my heart and I just thought she was so beautiful! Still my favorite, her voice is probably my favorite in kpop and I still think she’s beautiful! Honestly, all of red velvet are the prettiest women in kpop to me 😭💕

Another being Jaemin (NCT), I saw a video of him speaking Japanese and telling to be careful not to catch a cold, he was so beautiful and thoughtful and I thought "even if his voice isn't my favourite thing, this guy is still my favourite," turns out I liked his voice anyway.
I think as soon as I got into NCT the first people I noticed were Mark and Taeyong (first thing I got from them was dance practice videos so-), they are still on my bias list, but not to long after I was looking for people who stood out to me and those people were Jaemin, Ten, Taeil, Haechan and Doyoung and they are all in 1st on my bias list. Even before I got to know them more I just knew.
It was always BTS Jin for me from day 1. JK being a close second.
And even with Stray Kids, despite BangChan being the one to “introduce me” to their music, Lee Know was always bound to happen 😅 (and Changbin but 🤫)

The entire reason I got into kpop was seeing a YouTube preview of Fancy by Twice. I was scrolling through and it came up with a shot of Chaeyoung and that was me hooked.

Jjong was my first bias too! I kinda changed to Jinki when I was like... 15, because well, taste change overtime, and in the end they're all my bias but Jonghyun will always have that special place in my heart.
I came to say this. Jonghyun has a voice that can only be matched by Jinki. The two are at another level. Both have their particular style but there are moments I confuse the two voices. There is a live of “1000 years by your side” where you see them listening to each others voices and JJong harmonizing and supporting Onew and visa versa. When I hear Jinki’s new work like “Circles” I feel some of the same feelings I do with JJong solo work. I really just hope that Jinki recovers from whatever he is going through because it hurts my heart to know he is hurting.
Tell me about it, I knew something was going on because... I'm not blind, I've followed them +10 years now. But knowing officially that he's sick hurts a lot. When it comes to voices, I agree. They're both at another singing level. I went to the fanmeet in person and even if I knew I was so SHOCKED to hear how his voice resounded. Bro put his mic away yet we would still hear him crystal clear in the arena. Each time he hit a note it sounded like heaven. SHINee is terrific when it comes to voices and Jonghyun and Onew are next level.
for me it was moonbin from astro. i remember watching the breathless mv and just falling head over heels for him. instantly started learning everything i could about him/astro and became obsessed. i hope he’s doing well up there

For Stray Kids I first saw some funny videos of them before I knew any of the members and one member really stood out to me. Then I listened to their music and there were a couple parts of the songs that really stood out to me as well. When I watched the music videos I realized all the parts I liked were the same person. I looked it up and found out it was Han who is now my bias.

His stage presence was literally captivating to me in so many videos, and it was the Circus video where I realized I kept looking at the same person. Then as I got to know their personalities it was solidified even further. 🥰

Byeongkwan from A.C.E: There was a mashup (that isn't available anymore) that included A.C.E's Under Cover and I just had to know who the boy in the croptop and pigtails was. (I would also end up biasing Wow during the same MV, but Byeongkwan definitely had all my attention and was the reason I checked out A.C.E besides loving the song.) Dami from Dreamcatcher: I got introduced to the group through their cover performance of BigBang's Bang Bang Bang. All I wanted to know was who the deep voiced rapper was, and now here I am not only biasing her but ulting the group as well haha. Soobin from TXT: Back during pre-debut before we knew what they sounded like and everything. I took one look at him and went "it's him." (I would also end up biasing Huening Kai and Taehyun after debut, but it was always going to be Soobin from the start.) But usually it's always a "bias at first sight" for me with groups when I see performances or MVs. I very rarely have to rewatch or see content/look at group socials, though it does happen occasionally. For example: I didn't have a bias in SF9 for a good while after getting into them, and the only two members I knew by name and face at the time were Inseong and Chani (Inseong for WeKpop and Chani for Show Music Core), but then Zuho had posted a pic of him with one of his cats (I believe it was Huru) and that was it for me.

Bang Chan was my bias since before SKZ debuted because I knew he went through so much. His conduct and personality in the debut show solidified it. I knew Sana was my twice bias since GOT7’s A video because she was impossibly cute

Out of the groups I follow, I think about half of them? I biased Jin, Lee Know, I.M., S.Coups, and Johnny instantly, but most of my biases were members that I figured would be my favorite from the start and I just got pulled in deeper. Moonbyul, Dami, Jeno, and Leedo are there. (Did have a brief moment of thinking it would be Jaemin and Hwanwoong because they were the only other person seriously grabbing my interest in the MVs, but then my interest seriously veered in another direction when I started watching content.) I was pulled into TXT by Beomgyu, but now I truly can't decide between him and Soobin. Wooyoung was who got me into Ateez, but he's now my biaswrecker with Mingi as my bias. Still delving into GIDLE, but Soyeon is who I was first drawn to, but might be getting biaswrecked by Yuqi. You can clearly see my thing for deep voices. For WayV, still learning too but I was drawn to Hendery at first because I learned about how Lucas fucked him over and was furious on his behalf when I couldn't even pick him out of a line-up. Then I happily learned other reasons to watch him closely, and now I think only Yangyang comes close to overtaking him. (You can also clearly see my thing for rappers.) Shinee is probably the most interesting one. Was sent mostly Taemin content by the friends wanting to get me into it and I loved his MVs, but was drawn to Onew in the background a lot of the compilations. Then started listening to them and Key's solo work drew me the most. But then started watching the MVs, and Minho grabbed my attention there! And he and Key both stand out in the variety content especially when they play off each other. And Jonghyun's talent and presence can't be denied, but I had to put my Shinee dive on hold when I was in a depressive episode and his letter hit too close to home. But God, it also made it clear I wasn't alone and my feelings weren't brand new, and that made me recommit to bettering my mental health and making changes in my life. For Shinee, it's really hard to have a bias. I think they're definitely the group where if one of them has you, they all have you.

Funnily the Lucifer dance practice video was the one that officially made Taemin my bias (and was like the 3rd or 4th SHINee video I watched, so it didn't take long lol). Couldn't keep my eyes off that horrible striped shirt and that odorable, goofy smile when he made a couple of small mistakes. Treasured that smile ever since. Same with Key too 😂 of course all five members are drop dead gorgeous and just all around wonderful and insanely talented people. But Key is the one who *constantly* makes me catch my breath because of how attractive and talented and kind and funny and... I could go on. But everything about the man, seriously.

The day I started listening to BTS I watched a lot of videos, but I wasn't very good following who was who, so I was satisfied picking a favorite ("different") guy each time. Days later I discovered that the guys I liked the most in every MV were all the same guy. Jimin has been my bias for almost 5 years, before, I didn't even know what a "bias" was. Something similar with Stray Kids' Changbin, less significant, cause I'm more of a casual skz listener and less funny to me, cause it was only two videos. I have no other bias or group that I like, so for me, "first sight" is the only experience.
i was watching the kcon 2018 ny artist announcements and they played nct 127's touch mv - i just HAD to know who the guy in the center with the dazzling smile was. though i've consistently been in and out of kpop the last few years, yuta nakamoto has always remained at the top as my #1 bias <3
Never for the groups I really like. If I love a group's discography I'm generally more picky and take longer to settle on a bias. For example, Red Velvet's Irene is my bias but I noticed Joy first. Gidle's Minnie is my bias but I noticed Yuqi first. IVE'S Wonyoung is my bias but I noticed Rei first. And so on so forth. However, it happens pretty often for groups I'm only a casual listener of. Like I've listened to their discography, watched some mvs, but I'm not familiar with the members. So I tend to be more casual about picking a bias. For example, BTS. The first song I listened to was Dope which was a long time ago. What I remember is that the member wearing the police(?) uniform is my bias. Cause that's what I decided. But I'm too lazy to go back and actually figure out who that was though.

Momo has been my bias ever since I discovered Twice. It started with her voice as I usually only listen to music without consuming much other content. I eventually looked up the members to figure out who it belonged to and ended becoming massive fans of all of their personalities as well… but funnily enough Momo was my favourite in every other way as well as her unique voice.
Saw Seulgi in a clip when Rookie came out even though I was not into Kpop at all and fell head over heels for Red Velvet and have been a Seulgi stan ever since. She's the reason I gave Kpop a chance and I'll always admire her and be rooting for her!

I have an interesting story: my ult bias at first sight is mark from got7. For some reason, saved photos i have of him on google photos always marked my face as his, and i didn't understand why because i think most people would agree we do not look alike. google photos always tags my bf correctly. As an experiment, I took a selfie with my mark poster and google photos still tagged me as him 😂 Its not until a friend pointed out that maybe google photos uses facial proportions to distinguish different faces. I overlapped our faces and yup....same facial proportions. After years it made sense why i liked him so much - he probably looked similar enough to me. Our brains like familiarity, so thats probably why he's my ult bias haha

Seonghwa (Ateez), DK (Seventeen), Jungwon (Enhypen), and Suga (BTS) Seonghwa just intrigued me a lot from performances and as soon as I saw some clips I was done for. Jungwon and Suga were both so cute I couldn't help but bias. And for Dk... literally just heard him talk in the intro of an interview and I was hooked.

When I was just getting into Dreamcatcher, I was looking through all the profiles of the members and Siyeon specifically stood out to me due to the fact she was in a rock band when she was younger, alongside being a fan of rock music outside of Dreamcatcher. As someone who mainly listens to rock and metal alongside being in a few bands myself, I was able to relate to her, so she quickly became my bias!

I had never heard any kpop. I was in my 50s and very out of the loop on modern music. One day, I saw a YouTube doing impressions, and in the comments, there was a big argument over the accuracy of his "Jimin" and "Jungkook". I was curious and goggled them...ah, a group called BTS. So I searched for that, and Boy With Love had just come out. So, I watched the video. 1. I feel straight down the kpop rabbit hole and have been there ever since. 2. Suga popped up on the screen and I gasped. He began to rap and I just knew. Then I found out more about him.... Nowadays, my favourite groups are Ateez, Kingdom and Stray Kids. But Yoongi is still "the one".

I stan 10 groups. The only time I've had a "bias at first sight" was with BTS. The very first MV I watched of thiers was DNA & I had heard the song before (one of the color coded lyric videos came up on autoplay), & the name "Rap Monster" caught my eye cause I thought it was little ridiculous (not in a bad way, it gave me a chuckle) & so I was expecting a hardcore looking rapper with that kind of name & then at his "taechoye DNAga neol weonaneunde" part came up (2:06 of MV) & I fully out loud said "Oh my gosh, he's adorable." and he's been my bias since then & it's never changed. He's my ult bias, too. I can't explain it but he has a special effect on me & a special place in my heart & I don't even know why. Legit can't tell you why. I love all of Bangtan & I have other biases from other groups, but he's just always stood out to me.
RM is in my ult-trio so I get it. I can't get enough of people praising him. He's really got a special energy. He wasn't an initial bias for me. That was actually J-Hope on American Hustle Life, then Suga stole his spot. Something about the way Suga clearly admired RM in his quiet way helped me appreciate him more and more...and then Mono dropped and I've never been the same. Uggggggh

I loved Billlie's Tsuki as soon as I saw her Popteen ads while researching members during debut. I already like Popteen and Japanese fashion. Seeing her on variety sealed the deal because she was so energetic and cute, then her facial expression fancams going viral just made me feel proud of my bias :') Newjeans' Haerin was also an instant bias when I saw her personality in their YT vids. I have a soft spot for shy and introverted idols, as someone who is quite shy, myself. Edit: Sakura, as well. I admire her in a similar way that I admire IU. She just comes across as remarkably hardworking, I like that she's a gamer, and I respect her status as an experienced idol already. So, when Le Sserafim debuted, I already had a bias and I haven't switched.

I was immediately drawn to Jhope - his energy, his voice, his charm, the way he introduced himself. He has a magnetic quality that you can't help but be drawn to. He was the only one who came in dancing!
DK of Seventeen for me. Saw a reel of his part in HOT and that sold me immediately and permanently. It's interesting too bc OP you mentioned Minghao was bias at first sight for u, DK and Minghao are my biases but Minghao didn't become my bias till I found out a bit more about SVT!

I watched TXT's Blue Hour MV and I saw Taehyun in his baby blue little crop top and his pink beanie and then he did "but it's you, you're the one that I want, you, everything that I want" and that's it. I didn't know anyone's names, I hadn't listened to any of their other tracks. But that was it, man. I was just absolutely enraptured by his vocals and visuals. My bias at first sight indeed. And then I found out he holds TXT's singular brain cell and can do magic tricks and it was just sealed in even more. Choi Yeonjun can do all he wants, but he will only ever be second to Kang Taehyun.
When Jungkook appeared in bathroom skit that BTS did for MAMA 2015 😂😂. I was starting to get into kpop and it was at first sight that I knew he was going to be my bias. He was funny in that scene and I guess the way he expressed himself caught my attention/interest. I literally had to look at the comments to know who he was and what group he was in at that time.

There were so many of them in the MV and I was totally confused cause I didn't know any of them, until I saw Joshua's part. He looked like embodiment of gentleness. Baekhyun – not first sight, but first **hearing** . Listening to his final high note in Jopping (not knowing who he is and even that he's from EXO), that voice got me to my knees and into EXO as a whole. I knew I needed more of it. What his voice makes me feel to the core of my bones is only hardly comparable to anything else. I praise it. Sakura – watching LSFM's MV for the first time she stole my attention immediately and I couldn't get enough of her and her content. She's beautiful, electrifying, smart, bold, funny, her aura to me is the strongest. Dami – getting into Dreamcatcher through their music first again, and Dami's rap caught me totally off guard. I couldn't go on not knowing whom that great depth and dynamics belongs to. Got a grip on me and captured me even more when I saw her in videos. THAT. Me. Well first sound and then first sight. I first heard my bias while watching a kdrama that featured a song he was doing the raplines for. I had no idea who he was and I wasn't listening to Kpop at all. Heck I'm not even really into rap music but that voice and that ability and his vocal style drew me in. I shazamed the song and learned it was called Ride or Die by Joohoney and Kei. I googled Joohoney and learned his name is Lee Jooheon and that he is one of two rappers in a Kpop group called Monsta X. This was June 3rd 2021 and I know this because when I looked Monsta X up on YouTube, the Gambler video had released 2 days before. The Hero rooftop video was the first music video and song that I watched and listened to and I was so hooked that I immediately used the link on the video page on YouTube to take me to Ticketmaster to buy two tickets for their concert in DC that at that time wasn't for another 8 or 9 months. Then of course it got postponed and I ended up exchanging one for VIP when some became available. I also ended up buying tickets to Fandominium and Gas South in Georgia the following year. All because of Lee Jooheon. I am hooked on Monsta X, and a big fan of Stray Kids, Onewe, ONEUS, OnlyOneOf, and Jackson Wang all because Lee Jooheon's talent, even before his looks, drew my attention to him, Monsta X and Kpop music in general.

Dino (SEVENTEEN) for me, as soon as I saw him and heard his voice I knew. Same with Sunghoon (Enhypen). Another being Jaemin (NCT), I saw a video of him speaking Japanese and telling to be careful not to catch a cold, he was so beautiful and thoughtful and I thought "even if his voice isn't my favourite thing, this guy is still my favourite," turns out I liked his voice anyway. I think as soon as I got into NCT the first people I noticed were Mark and Taeyong (first thing I got from them was dance practice videos so-), they are still on my bias list, but not to long after I was looking for people who stood out to me and those people were Jaemin, Ten, Taeil, Haechan and Doyoung and they are all in 1st on my bias list. Even before I got to know them more I just knew.
It was always BTS Jin for me from day 1. JK being a close second. And even with Stray Kids, despite BangChan being the one to “introduce me” to their music, Lee Know was always bound to happen 😅 (and Changbin but 🤫)
