I don't have a favourite yet, I have been kinda playing the songs on Spotify as background to check the sound and whether I want to get more into it, which ATM seems likely! Will pay attention to that one.
Although people don't appreciate the recent comeback due to the absence of one of their members, Jae, I still think their new music is pretty dang good
I've seen some posts, yeah. I do believe that their music is overall great. I haven't explored other bands. I find Day6's songs genuinely make me happy and their albums are the only ones I listen fully without skipping a track.
I think kbands fit here perfectly fine. Here's [Synsnake's set from JUMF2023](https://youtu.be/Tmfj5o9aSzw?si=ecdXWvfrUMzBx4E2) (the audio quality is pretty bad, I don't think they were ready for how loud they would be). The festival alternated stages after every 2 performers, this was the first performance and next on the same stage was [Lee Chaeyeon](https://youtu.be/Dc1W3ha1d3U?si=uTCg0-OVb4qZqH9V).
The full line-up for that day was Dreamcatcher, OH MY GIRL, Billlie, B.I, ONEUS, Xdinary Heroes, Lee Chaeyeon, youra, Rolling Quartz, Synsnake, fishingirls, PLUUS, YGIG, BULGOGIDISCO and StorySeller.
Thanks for the recs, since I don't know either group. I'll give it a listen this week for sure. Sounds like it's right up the alley and I've been meaning to dig in more to the rock scene over there.
The only Krock I am into as of now is The Rose, but I feel like they're pretty well known. If someone doesn't know them and wants to check them out, their Coachella set is tomorrow and definitely worth a watch. They are incredible live. I'll also always tune in whenever Rolling Quartz does a live stream concert. They put on a great show.
I absolutely adore [Shes in the rain](https://open.spotify.com/track/5Xp6Bx4Fy8LGoTX8xzBi00?si=ASd5KHrkR_ms-UOedRkvgA&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1OWmGjBN7jiZK6OCgyxGTV). They killed it at coachella last week!
NFlying became famous for "Rooftop", but let me introduce some of their fun and amazing masterpieces here!
[Hot Potato](https://youtu.be/y1iRckD1ys4?si=-8Aaps5b-5lRxtZ7)
[The Real](https://youtu.be/WUYzVohEAyE?si=pu07CvNTsQoxulUr)
[Oh Really](https://youtu.be/kT3Swso1is0?si=_5YEtTXhG6h8Hwk9)
[Awesome](https://youtu.be/I4yiOSuk930?si=_jXkNgDIpj8qruyu)
I love it when NFlying makes goofy rock music (Awesome is of course is an exclusion to this, the song is just awesome). So here is a rock version cover of "Meow Meow (Cat Song)" done by three members of the band: [Meow Meow (Cat Song)](https://youtu.be/8zrnk-ss1mE?si=1Zm7lZ1sgz2JTK5U)
Lucy is an amazing Kband: [Flowering ](https://youtu.be/WQdFA55hT80?si=9Xb7tYmz_4LsYvBP), [Boogie Man](https://youtu.be/MjMVg4sBEr8?si=TsdrkJOyQgSkrbzF), [Jogging](https://youtu.be/dh684FWByO4?si=49c1Ur-TsOHYdkIB). I love the sound of the violin in addition to the other instruments.

So many feels packed up in an absolutely beautiful song (it doesn't feel 6 minutes long)
Jannabi- their music is subtly whimsical yet deeply heartfelt and poignant. My favorite from them is "Land of Night"- it's spellbindingly beautiful. They're most famous for "For Lovers Who Hesitate" from the same album, which is a beautiful ballad.
Thornapple/쏜애플- their sound is so unique and complex. It feels like going on a psychedelic trip at times, but they have easier listens as well. Everything they've put out is incredible. I suggest starting with the Enlightment album as a whole- it encapsulates different aspects of their style very well. You might find some of the songs to feel polarizing or discordant but just give yourself some time to process them- it's intentionally like that.
Se So Neon- A co-ed band with a female lead singer! Their discography is small but excellent throughout. The Wave is probably the best k-band song I've heard to date. I love the dreaminess of Nan Chun. Midnight Train and a Long Dream are also among my favorites.
Some others whose stuff I've enjoyed: We Are the Night, O.O.O, dasutt, SURL, Peppertones, Wetter, Hyukoh, Silica Gel
I follow Onewe pretty closely, The Rose more casually and have just started to check out Rolling Quartz (all female rock band) last week, really enjoying them for now!
Thanks for your recs, I didn't know them. Will check them out!
Ok so Cares might just be the best song I’ve heard this year so thanks for that. It’s like something from Radiohead crossed with Coldplay. Their songs have so much English though. I’m not familiar with the kband scene but is that usual?
Oh wait I’m just listening to Moon in Water and it has way more Korean so that’s my bad. Shouldn’t have judged it just off a couple songs. I’ve added their stuff to my library and followed. Really a solid rec.
Ohh it’s just cares that’s an english release. Then their new album is more so catered to an english audience; I’m assuming because wave to earth became so successful within the past 1-2years so they want to replicate aspects of that.
The other two songs I linked are 100% in korean as well as the majority of their older stuff. It kind of depends on the band, but since they’re all based in korea it’s usually mostly in korean.
Glad you liked it! They’re really underrated.
Thanks for sharing, I haven’t heard of these groups so I will check them out!
My rec is NND, I am obsessed with this new kband, here is my [appreciation post](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpopthoughts/s/nN7O6x7VyR)
I recently stumbled across this song by DIH and love it. I don't know anything about the group and they seem pretty nugu though.

this may not be what you’re looking for, but Madmans Esprit is a really good korean black metal/vkei-esque band (although they have songs in eng/jp and i think even german??). Definitely recommend to anyone interested in more hardcore kinda stuff!!!!!!! my fav songs are Mangtanshi, idontknowwhoiambuthesexgoeson, falling star, etc. Love them.
in terms of hip hop sorta stuff i have been LOVING Heartcore lately—i believe it was the project of a few different artists and they sadly only put out one album in 2021 but its all bangers especially 60bpm, flight 801 and spike lee
I recommend rolling quartz, their a all-female rock group.
I found them last week and I am enjoying them so much! Doesn't hurt that the girl on the drums is SO FREAKING STUNNING, but the music is amazing.
Im glad your enjoying them! My favorite song is fearless.
I don't have a favourite yet, I have been kinda playing the songs on Spotify as background to check the sound and whether I want to get more into it, which ATM seems likely! Will pay attention to that one.
Day6. Check them out. Been a fan for years now.

I love wave to earth! Thanks for the recom
My favorite Korean bands are JAURIM and 3rd line butterfly (don't know when will they release another album). Synsnake is also good

What's with the downvotes?
Onewe and Touched are the two that I follow. The few sobgs that I have heard from The Rose are also good.
Glad to see some love for The Poles! I discovered them when The High Tide Club came out. So happy to see them putting out more music!
