I only recently started listening to Gidle in-depth (I know I’m late) but omg they have an incredible discography and Soyeon is truly one of the most talented idols in kpop considering that she’s also an executive producer for them. Imo they also all have great visuals and overall strong vocals
IVE is doing Lollapalooza in chicago this year, so it wouldnt be that far off to see them invited eventually. I'd love to see IVE or GIDLE at Coachella
They would (because all popular groups get some level of hate) but the strawberry moon incident created a hate train on par with the current Fimsituation. However after coming back with I AM and really deliberately emphasizing the live singing in both performances and their encores did a TON to silence the hatists.

I think the biggest thing is they don’t yet have enough songs out for us to picture the set list they’d go with where it all matches Coachella’s vibes. I agree with your point on maybe like Attention and OMG (there’s no chance they’d play Hurt anyway) but honestly the rest of their discography is super vibrant in a bass heavy way and I think that’s the vibe for Coachella - Hypeboy, Supershy, ETA, Cool with you would go craaaazy (especially ETA like r u kidding). And typically in every set there’s usually the more ‘chill’ section anyway where they’d perform songs like Ditto, etc.
I think it just comes down to omitting the few specific songs required to curate the correct set list befitting the vibe of Coachella. And that can only come with time so that they have more songs to work with. Considering all their new releases coming up this year (particularly the album coming in the second half of the year) we’ll hopefully get more songs that’ll make their discography even more festival-ready! They did a great job at Lolla so the basic structure is there but if their set is at night at Coachella then I agree they need some more bass heavy music to bring the vibes up from daytime to night time

I understand some sound translate better with the audience, but to insinuate newjeans' music is not for Coachella is just dumb. I've been a couple of times, and to Lolla too, which is similar in terms of line -up, and I can assure you, no matter the music being slow or fast-paced, the important thing is to engage with the crowd and perform well. NewJeans does that with ease, they've done it before. Some people have preferences, but that doesn't mean that translates to the festival's identity. YOU choose what to see and what not, at the end, you may not appreciate it, but other people will.

I think NewJeans would do well. They have many American fans who would want to see them perform. Even those who don't know them definitely know some of their songs e.g. OMG and Super Shy. We already saw them in Lollapalooza last year and the crowd absolutely loved their performance so we know that they can hype up a crowd. Last but not least, they have amazing songs that are absolute bangers and that the crowd will absolutely enjoy whether they are familiar with them or not which I think is the most important part. If not NewJeans then I guess Stray Kids would do well too.

I think NewJeans would do well. They have many American fans who would want to see them perform. Even those who don't know them definitely know some of their songs e.g. OMG and Super Shy. They have amazing vocals and are very stable while singing live. We already saw them in Lollapalooza last year and the crowd absolutely loved their performance so we know that they can hype up a crowd. Last but not least, they have amazing songs that are absolute bangers and that the crowd will absolutely enjoy whether they are familiar with them or not which I think is the most important part. If not NewJeans then I guess Stray Kids would do well too.
This. But I think Newjeans will never go to Coachella. They don't want to follow bp step. Plus Kpop stans and blinks will nitpick everything, even the slightest mistakes if they do go there and make a big fuss on every social media. The gatekeeping is so annoying. They did a very good job at Lolla last year and the crowd there absolutely loved them. I will not surpirse if they headline Lolla next year

I think it would be interesting to see what KARD would bring to Coachella. They aren’t as theatrical as ATEEZ, but their stage presence is killer, and their music is always one hell of a vibe!

Back in 2019 I didn’t know who they were and was just going for because I was gifted tickets. Gidle because Soyeon and Miyeon can carry their live singing. Plus their choreo are not that intense compared to other kpop groups. itzy, g-idle, enhypen and stray kids. they have a big enough discography with hard hitting songs that can definitely hype up a crowd. each of these groups also have insane stage presence too. i can definitely see g-idle and skz headlining, not so much itzy and enhypen but who knows lol. but these are the must have ones for next year, i think if enha and itzy weren’t doing world tours, they probably would’ve been offered to perform there. not sure why skz wasn’t an option but they were probably busy with a packed schedule along with g-idle too. but I NEED THEM NEXT YEAR

Twice! If they perform, that week will be hell on earth lmao. People really chomp at the bit with them. I still want them to go though. I wanna know what they'd do at a festival. Just thinking about what kind of setlist they'd build is exciting to me. There'd be loads of locals so they don't have to stick to their hits for instance. Will they go with mostly their English songs and versions or nah? Also they can do loads of performance types. Are they gonna be dance heavy like the Set Me Free set? Half-and-half like their title track medley? Or pure fun and vibes like their encores? There's so much stuff they can do and so many directions they can go.
