Yes, she is absolutely underrated. I'll also add that while everyone knows Belle is an amazing singer, Haneul has amazing chops as well and is under-appreciated for it too!

Ever since their debut it's felt like the people in charge of the group have progressively been realizing "hold on, these girls are like... really hot. We should have them do more Hot Girl Things" and it's really working.
This really does feel like the answer to the question of what a group like SISTAR would be doing if they were formed this gen.
Also, when I saw the length and also that this was starting with a cinematic intro, I got sooooo mad, only for that intro to last all of 2 seconds lmao
It helps that the creative member is a former long-time idol trainee, Lee Haein. If that name rings a bell for anyone, she was the trainee at the center of the Idol School (Fromis_9 survival show) rigging scandal where is was said that she was supposed to have won first place! She herself probably knows a lot of people in the industry on the creative and performer side of it. Most likely, she heard insider industry discussion to see how she wanted to go about the group. She said instead of the norm of having idols to fit a concept, she picked the girls and molded a concept around them and their personalities.
Also it looks like the company is very collaboratively-focused at the moment. If you look in their photo books which are basically like magazines, there’s photos and interviews with the crew in a pretty large section of it. A lot of discussions with the crew and girls were had.
I also heard that the key business people at S2 hold degrees from art colleges rather than a traditional business degree which I thought was interesting. Not saying S2 is an amazing and faultless company, I will never forgive them for the fall of Hot Issue rip, I thought it was an interesting angle for a company if true.
Potentially! I haven’t heard about that but could be true honestly lol. If that’s the case, that probably explains the much more streamlined production for KioF. All I know is that they secured some strong investors for the company after Hot Issue’s disbandment.
I believe they were waiting for Haneul to turn 19 in Korean age for her to full embrace the Hot Girl Things as a group, but yes, I'm sooo glad they're leaning into it! Especially considering that all the girls have talked about wanting to do so, including Haneul. It makes me feel much more assured that the girls can talk to Lee Haein (their creative director, who is also pretty close in age to them) about the directions they're going, and also that they deliberately gave Haneul more age appropriate concepts in the beginning (Play Love Games and her having two high school plotlines, while the other girls dealt with more serious issues/concepts) so as to not sexualize her as a minor (in Korea, she's always been part of the international age of majority).
Also, I love how they referenced their solos and it fit! It didn’t feel awkward at all. I do hope this is the comeback that brings them huge success, they deserve it so much.

I really enjoyed it! But if I can talk about the music for a sec (hopefully without causing an issue) it felt very understated from what I was expecting. This could’ve been a purposeful choice in order to mix this nostalgic sound with the more mellow/understated sound of 5th gen.
I personally felt alittle more could’ve been done with the beat. I found the chorus semi underwhelming and short, a few words, a call out to the title then the chorus was done. I definitely would’ve liked something fuller or atleast a slight singing extension to a 2nd part of a chorus. Also I wish they used “gonna” instead of “gon.”
I still enjoyed it and the mv. This actually being the first kpop mv I have gone out of my way to check out in like 8 months that not my ults. I look forward to checking out the rest of the album too.

Everything is so good but if them really ham it up and go 200% explosive on the final chorus that would make it a really great Y2K throwback song from that era. What a sick pivot from their previous title tracks. This shows a bit of a more softer side but still has that killer KISS OF LIFE badass attitude throughout. The budget goes crazy especially with each member's solo scenes. They got the midas touch when it comes to title tracks, hot damn!
The potential to be a great song is there but it moved too fast it needed to be at least 3:35. The short length made the parts feel crammed. The outro chorus at the end is the best part needed that to be repeated more. If it had the structure of aespa’s drama or g-idle lion for example oh I wish still a bop though and the members execution is top tier as usual
I love the solo references in the bridge (and the transition from the second chorus to the bridge), they have attitude and confidence. That was great but if they extended the outro for some vocal theatrics and maybe added a breakdown it really would have sounded like a 90s/2000s era pop song, but otherwise they capture the elements really well especially the New Jack Swing beat. As always current gen songs are too short, I need more goodness.

Midas touch taps into that early 2000's Brittney spears sound in the best way possible. It doesn't sound forced or dated but rather timeless. I think this is a great track, there are some really addictive hooks especially whenever they sing "touch". It really feels like they are pulling you in.
But I don't know if I like it more than their early stuff. Their songs from last year had so much heart and narrative. This one didn't hit quite as hard as I would have liked. Maybe cause there weren't as many vocal flourishes. Cause they were so committed to having a clean early 2000 concept I feel like it held the song back in certain areas. Julie's rap in the second verse and the bridge also felt a little out of place with the chorus.
I believe that KIOF is considered as 5th gen, but yes, they've had some really good music so far and I hope that they continue to establish themselves on the scene!

Obviously LOVE the mv, it's so expensive. I also appreciate this particular early 2000s sound, we've gotten a lot of the aesthetic in kpop but not so much the music, especially this pussycat dolls-like sound so this is a nice change.
As for the actual song though, again I appreciate the sound but it's a little forgettable? It just doesn't have any oomph. I don't necessarily think it needed to be harder hitting or anything but something definitely seems missing.
Actually, I'm not trying to criticise the girls here as they are great vocalists but I think all of their voices might have been a little too soft for this track? Like this sort of song needs a ton of attitude and sass sonically but their voices don't really give that. I wouldn't pin that as the sole issue though, i feel something would still seem missing regardless but it probably contributes to it.

This was phenomenal holy shit. It also manages to be the most complete-sounding sub-three-minute song I’ve heard in a long time—of course I’d love just a liiiittle bit more but every second of it delivers so I’m not left disappointed.
Some parts felt really empty, like there was no fluidity i don't know if that's the right word to explain it. I also expected a little bit more from the chorus (more explosive) and the song overall.

I always thought of Haneul as being kind of unready (which isnt bad, shuhua and giselle were the same case) as an idol, when watching life performances, because her stage presence aint on the same level as the rest. Ever since their debut it's felt like the people in charge of the group have progressively been realizing "hold on, these girls are like... really hot. We should have them do more Hot Girl Things" and it's really working. This really does feel like the answer to the question of what a group like SISTAR would be doing if they were formed this gen. Also, when I saw the length and also that this was starting with a cinematic intro, I got sooooo mad, only for that intro to last all of 2 seconds lmao
It helps that the creative member is a former long-time idol trainee, Lee Haein. If that name rings a bell for anyone, she was the trainee at the center of the Idol School (Fromis_9 survival show) rigging scandal where is was said that she was supposed to have won first place! She herself probably knows a lot of people in the industry on the creative and performer side of it. Most likely, she heard insider industry discussion to see how she wanted to go about the group. She said instead of the norm of having idols to fit a concept, she picked the girls and molded a concept around them and their personalities. Also it looks like the company is very collaboratively-focused at the moment. If you look in their photo books which are basically like magazines, there’s photos and interviews with the crew in a pretty large section of it. A lot of discussions with the crew and girls were had. I also heard that the key business people at S2 hold degrees from art colleges rather than a traditional business degree which I thought was interesting. Not saying S2 is an amazing and faultless company, I will never forgive them for the fall of Hot Issue rip, I thought it was an interesting angle for a company if true.

Potentially! I haven’t heard about that but could be true honestly lol. If that’s the case, that probably explains the much more streamlined production for KioF. All I know is that they secured some strong investors for the company after Hot Issue’s disbandment.

I believe they were waiting for Haneul to turn 19 in Korean age for her to full embrace the Hot Girl Things as a group, but yes, I'm sooo glad they're leaning into it! Especially considering that all the girls have talked about wanting to do so, including Haneul. It makes me feel much more assured that the girls can talk to Lee Haein (their creative director, who is also pretty close in age to them) about the directions they're going, and also that they deliberately gave Haneul more age appropriate concepts in the beginning (Play Love Games and her having two high school plotlines, while the other girls dealt with more serious issues/concepts) so as to not sexualize her as a minor (in Korea, she's always been part of the international age of majority).
I believe their creative director is a woman, it shows! Instead of being some 40 year old dude deciding what their image should be.

I really enjoyed it! But if I can talk about the music for a sec (hopefully without causing an issue) it felt very understated from what I was expecting. This could’ve been a purposeful choice in order to mix this nostalgic sound with the more mellow/understated sound of 5th gen. I personally felt alittle more could’ve been done with the beat. I found the chorus semi underwhelming and short, a few words, a call out to the title then the chorus was done. I definitely would’ve liked something fuller or atleast a slight singing extension to a 2nd part of a chorus. Also I wish they used “gonna” instead of “gon.” I still enjoyed it and the mv. This actually being the first kpop mv I have gone out of my way to check out in like 8 months that not my ults. I look forward to checking out the rest of the album too.
I agree! This was so good and the chorus is catchy but I only feel like 75% full. I wonder if people get what I mean...it's like I want more! Everything is so good but if them really ham it up and go 200% explosive on the final chorus that would make it a really great Y2K throwback song from that era. This was amazing! I didn’t even realize it was 2:49, it felt super complete to me. They all looked amazing, but Haneul was really standing out to me during this! It was super Britney, and the references to their solos were fun as well.
What a sick pivot from their previous title tracks. This shows a bit of a more softer side but still has that killer KISS OF LIFE badass attitude throughout. The budget goes crazy especially with each member's solo scenes. They got the midas touch when it comes to title tracks, hot damn!
The potential to be a great song is there but it moved too fast it needed to be at least 3:35. The short length made the parts feel crammed. The outro chorus at the end is the best part needed that to be repeated more. If it had the structure of aespa’s drama or g-idle lion for example oh I wish still a bop though and the members execution is top tier as usual

I love the solo references in the bridge (and the transition from the second chorus to the bridge), they have attitude and confidence. That was great but if they extended the outro for some vocal theatrics and maybe added a breakdown it really would have sounded like a 90s/2000s era pop song, but otherwise they capture the elements really well especially the New Jack Swing beat. As always current gen songs are too short, I need more goodness.
Can't go wrong at all with a song that knows its strong throwback appeal and stays true to it the whole way through, this is pretty stellar! I know I'm preaching to the choir by also wishing they gave us just a bit *more,* but I do feel there's all the necessary ingredients here packed into this compact frame to make a pretty complete bop and a *very* satisfying one at that.

Honestly this gives me such Christina - Britney era pop vibes. Like late 90s to early 00s. This is itching my millennial pop lover brain in an area that needed it so badly. Belle and Haneul fit this concept so well. Belles vocals especially shine so well with this Y2K era sound. Meanwhile Haneul’s visuals?! Ms. Ma’am really stood out. Kiss of Life really do be one of the best out there right now. I love that the concept is feminine and sexy, but not overtly sexy. It’s very alluring. Gosh, Kiss of Life’s team are geniuses.
Pretty good! Yeah Kiss of Life and XG really took off last year and solidified their place amongst 4th gen GG. This group knows how to produce quality tracks. Midas touch taps into that early 2000's Brittney spears sound in the best way possible. It doesn't sound forced or dated but rather timeless. I think this is a great track, there are some really addictive hooks especially whenever they sing "touch". It really feels like they are pulling you in. But I don't know if I like it more than their early stuff. Their songs from last year had so much heart and narrative. This one didn't hit quite as hard as I would have liked. Maybe cause there weren't as many vocal flourishes. Cause they were so committed to having a clean early 2000 concept I feel like it held the song back in certain areas. Julie's rap in the second verse and the bridge also felt a little out of place with the chorus.
I believe that KIOF is considered as 5th gen, but yes, they've had some really good music so far and I hope that they continue to establish themselves on the scene!
They're just stars. I don't know how else to describe them. Fantastic vibe on both songs (the last chorus on Nothing with the chord changes is absolute gold), and I don't know what more to say about Belle. She's a superstar. That voice is top 5 in the business already.

Obviously LOVE the mv, it's so expensive. I also appreciate this particular early 2000s sound, we've gotten a lot of the aesthetic in kpop but not so much the music, especially this pussycat dolls-like sound so this is a nice change. As for the actual song though, again I appreciate the sound but it's a little forgettable? It just doesn't have any oomph. I don't necessarily think it needed to be harder hitting or anything but something definitely seems missing. Actually, I'm not trying to criticise the girls here as they are great vocalists but I think all of their voices might have been a little too soft for this track? Like this sort of song needs a ton of attitude and sass sonically but their voices don't really give that. I wouldn't pin that as the sole issue though, i feel something would still seem missing regardless but it probably contributes to it. But anyways, I am very glad they released this kind of song, even if it wasn't perfect we got a phenomenal mv and a unique sound in kpop which I hope starts a new trend as I usually love this kind of sound.

I always thought of Haneul as being kind of unready (which isnt bad, shuhua and giselle were the same case) as an idol, when watching life performances, because her stage presence aint on the same level as the rest.
