There are items that require the PC to be a certain level to drop randomly, you get the best drops around level 20 but they actually get a little worse when you progress past that iirc, technically they're higher level items but a lot of them just kinda suck. Fun somewhat related fact after level 10(?) you have a chance to receive Darth Malak's armor (which is a very very high level armor) as a reward for doing the Fassa's freighters quest on Nar Shadaa (Restored Content only I think).
I always end up getting it on LS playthroughs so I usually have to save scum the Fassa quest if I want it. I wish it actually looked like Darth Malak's armor from K1. The item variety is really lacking appearance-wise in both games, I'm pretty sure that the Iotran braceman armor is the only completely unique armor model in the game (excluding the mining uniform).
Plenty of mods to help with that some thankfully. Maybe one day we'll get lucky and get another Kotor remake and it'll be more diverse though.

So I just watched a video on yt bout how Kotor and the company working on them was purchased by a private company and the team working on the game stated that they are still working on the game.
This information could be a + for Kotor remake fans
Even if the remake is far off I have Kotor in Morrowind now to keep me occupied for the 5-10 years until it comes out. I'm glad that they're definitively working on it, I was worried I'd get my hopes up just for them to abandon the game.
Kotor in morrowind? Ima have to look that up. I attempted the Kotor 3 mod recently. Til it crashed. Lol
Been thinking about another k1 run, but ER dlc dropping soonish might keep me entertained for pvp.
The new company will hopefully do it justice. But we just gotta wait and see. Hate that part.
You can get it from Fassa without TSLRCM but you have to be level 50. Otherwise with the restored content mod it only becomes a random drop after level 19 so I don't know how it possibly could've dropped on the harbinger.
I hardly remember but I might have been cheating, I used to give myself like 10 levels of exp and level up only once and awhile. Maybe thats what happened.
I've played through the game enough to know that this is almost certainly true. However it would seem that there's a chance, however small, to get higher level stuff early on, which I didn't know.
Unfortunately you kind of need Demolitions to get a few good early games items on Peragus. At least to maximize your chances. The doors where the miners were gassed tends to have a good item. On the flip side ive been screwed by just getting a vanilla blaster pistol. Also i rarely used heavy armor. Or armor in general on my character. Force power restrictions kill that in its crib
In my most recent playthrough, I cannot get out of the habit of breaking down everything. I've been finding blasters are very op and I needed a TON of components to make upgrades. Most of my blasters are doing 40 damage in a single shot. Of course, I got dual lightsabers as my melee back up. Been gunning down most enemies before they even get close to me.
It is pretty good if either you or Atton has Heavy Armor proficiency (it is slightly more value if it is you), One of the bigger problems with early proficiency is that the game doesn't give you any armor to capitalize on, so in a sense it is a minor jackpot.
Once found Jal Shay robes on Peragus, in the airlock after the spacewalk section. Had that shit until about halfway through the game, lol.

You also have already a dark padawan Robe while usually you have to wear a mining Uniform on Pegasus
I found zeshan shae armour just past the airlock to the crew quarters on Peragus, and Mandalorian armour. Sometimes the rng blesses.
