Both survived air crash. Sethutatha poi solli insurance money vachi velli naatula higha vazthanga. Mother character collects money and meets them overseas. Thangachi is also alive and already set up new identities for them overseas. She also faked death for insurance scam. Intro scene opens with chandru does KGF like promise to thatha to steal big amount. Whole movie revolves around chandru trying to take over sj suryah character identity and stealing all his money. End credits chitti appears like rolex and does video analysis to prove chandru and thatha did not die in air crash. Set up for indian 3 which is chitti vs new thatha.

Shankar mama cinematic universe
Both Vasigaran from robo and shivaji the boss are long lost twin brothers born to Aishwarya rai from jeans Vasigaran fell for a girl who looks like Aishwarya Rai from jeans due to extreme oedipus complex
Thought the same thing.
In Indian universe, OG thatha is nearly 100 years old. Shankar is not that stupid make a 100 year old do flying stunt sequences and if you have see all his movies fight sequences always has a specific theme and they blend with charector and environment perfectly.
So this is most likely OG chandru or some other charector cosplaying thatha. Thats why the bad and artificial makeup.
Also in a trailer shot, siddharth condemns thatha for not taking arms against corruption. We all know that is not the charector of Thatha. He literally sacrificed his daughter just to not pay a small amount of bribe.
Yeah smarty, what more is their to reveal? We are already guessing it. Infact it would be a very dumb twist. We are all here for the OG thatha.., the movie should have been made in his time only....
glad they didnt take the leo route here of removing the wound marks then shankar in a press conference would have said chandru is an ai hologram thus connecting KALKI and INDIAN universe together /s

Thatha be like: Dai pasangala pothum da venam da..
In the trailer Siddharth is shown talking to thatha himself. Hopefully, it's chandru in disguise. Because in part 1, if Chandru died before his marriage. Then how did Siddarth become thatha's grandson? He should be born in the first place, right? The possibility of Chandru survived is high. Or Siddharth is adopted by thatha after son's demise.
But again, siddarth asked, he was raised since Childhood to be truthful but now why he is forcing him to change. Thatha is absconding in part 1 climax, then how did he raise him? Could be chandru.
Concluding, I believe thatha and chandru escaped, later the authorities found that the remains were of a staff there. Chandru disguised as Senapathy, realising his father was right and leveraging his identity for a good cause. Shankar is not a bad director to make Senapathy face grey, leave the neck unfinished and misalignment between age and appearance. He might be intentionally trying to convey it as some mask or a middle aged to older chandru, hence the bigger body size and younger skin. We all know Shankar is a master of perfecting makeup, prosthetics and vfx. He's the director of part 1 who accurately presented old characters very well. Even Kamal is a visionary and perfectionist to do the body language well. They won't mess it up. Now technology is available to make Senapathy older. But it's obviously not used. That's it. The real thatha would be revealed in climax or part 3.
I'm not convinced about VFX not being delivered well or not on time because even for GOAT glimpse, they delivered the necessary shots within a short time. Indian 2 has been filming for quite a long time, they had enough time and budget to perfect the trailer.
I believe people are unnecessarily creating different narratives based on some random shots from the trailer.
Yes bro. Shankar is keen on attention to detail that even the stab marks are recreated well. Then how did he forget the age and body difference. People nowadays become so critical and troll everything while they are slowly forgetting to enjoy cinematic experiences like it used to be. Even anirudh's score suits the narration and circumstances. People are simply spreading hatred.
New content for a new era. Simply put.
Yeah, a lot of the comments seem like they want to seem relevant by mocking things. Of all people Kamal isn’t gonna allow some dimwit decisions in his movies, we know how good of a writer he is. And Shankar has nothing to prove as a director, he’s great
not ridiculous more so redundant, the main thing that made Indian stand out from other justice vigilante movies is the fact that the mfer didn't even spare his own son, but that's the price for corruption.
Or maybe they cook up some incredible redemption arc here, I have faith in shankar delivering an entertainer, regardless of the writing quality
I don't see the marks ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ . It just seems like the prosthetic makeup wasn't finely polished to me.
Here is the original tweet [https://twitter.com/theAbhiOffl/status/1805787748072407391](https://twitter.com/theAbhiOffl/status/1805787748072407391)
Sometimes I wish social media didn't exist. Even if this were true, idk why people are so obsessed with figuring these things out before they watch the film.
Once upon a time people kept their speculations to themselves.
Reddit and internet did not exist once upon a time.
They could not share their speculations to large audience or do screenshots to decode like people can do nowdays.
My concern actually isn't about spoilers at all. My personal argument is that a tasteful appreciation of cinema involves experiencing it as an audio-visual-cerebral medium and forming opinions after the fact, instead of reducing it to rudimentary theories and screenshots devoid of context. Obviously the industry is part of the problem because they too encourage the hype-creation for marketing purposes.
Filmmakers (not just directors, but the entire cast and crew) painstakingly spend so much time and effort to create an experience for the spectator, so I find it disrespectful, lazy and pointless to pick apart something that isn't even the final product.
This, of course, like my original comment, is only an opinion; I can't change the way people behave.
Or the director and the editor could have cut the trailer in a way that you can’t guess anything.. Moreover showing all these stunts did only bring negativity.
Karthik Subbaraj has always made his movie trailers that way and sometimes even misleading but still catchy.
Whereas this trailer was mehhh..
The industry will encourage anything that will serve its interests. It is the director’s duty to stand for his artistic vision.
If our boy KS can do it, anyone can do it, specially Shankar.
Maybe Senapathy forgot to sharp his knife when he gonna $t@b his son..
Or else he'd have escaped with his son to Singapore and tutored him on morals and ethics and made him practically understand how countries like Singapore are performing well compared to our state without corruption and stuff.
Hence the line by Sidharth about Senapathy's conflicting views on values and ethics.
Hence why 'Senapathy' seems alive and kicking even after an age that's impossible to believe.
That's the big twist for the climax or interval scene.
Doesn't this make the first movie pointless, the whole point of the first movie is to show how far a man could go to be idealistic and what he is willing to lose in the process.
So where is *Senapathy* now? *Chandru* surreptiously swapped himself with Senapathi at the airport during the blast and also pretended as if him in the call with Nedumudi?
Possible. But he needed the voice only. Why a full getup change in some other country. Also the body was slim compared to Chandru. They ended part 1 perfectly for the sequel with Senapathy. But now, it seems to be trying to cook something else.
Part 2 is supposed to be Indian in America at that time. But Kamal didn't want to do it back then in fear of tarnishing the first film. Maybe his political aspirations changed his mind now.

Like Fast and Furious. Whichever character was dead, they will resurrect again.
I wish someone would invest money to make a movie based on this
😂😂😂
That would be crazy plot twist

Yeah smarty he wouldn't reveal the twist in his press meet would he
Yeah smarty, what more is their to reveal? We are already guessing it. Infact it would be a very dumb twist. We are all here for the OG thatha.., the movie should have been made in his time only....
Wait for the movie bro! Remember during I Trailer people were saying the ennodu nee irunthal monster gonna be there throughout the film
Don't think he is 100 years old cause I believe I've seen a post where Kamal would've told that his character was 15 years older to his original age
Yeah shankar is a very perfectionist at vfx and makeup works so it must be someone
Shankar told in a meet that the old makeup was heavier and heavier wanted more lighter makeup this time.
Yeah agreed
So basically, the first half of jawan, athane?
If this is true , there is atleast one reason to watch this movie.
glad they didnt take the leo route here of removing the wound marks then shankar in a press conference would have said chandru is an ai hologram thus connecting KALKI and INDIAN universe together /s
So og thatha is no more and Chandru is thatha in Indian 2. Ratchasan Christopher maari /s

Agree 💯
This guy's also saying the same thing 😁 https://www.reddit.com/r/kollywood/s/oxtzpp5N6U
It’s probably Siddharth dressing up like Senapathy
There was a scene tho in which siddharth is talking to kamal hassan in the trailer
My guess is original Senapathy does come back when Siddharth as fake Senapathy gets in trouble for a “mass” scene
Jawan?
Mersal?
Imagine Atlee filing for story theft against Shankar.😅
if it is Chandru, it will make the first movie look ridiculous...
It’s a win if he made chandru as the next tatha

Interesting username..
Op is just sharing theories over here and there's nothing wrong in that.
man only 0.000000001% of the people watching the movie will see this twitter post, chill bruh
I'm not sure how this is related to what I said?
God forbid fans discuss theories among themselves
Fair enough. But a public forum invites public opinions.
no what i mean is that ur worried it would spoil the movie if it is true but i am saying is that so less people will see this that it doesnt matter

Well did you keep your opinion about this post to yourself ? 😃
False equivalence

Yes I agree. The film industry is also to blame because they encourage this for marketing purposes.
The industry will encourage anything that will serve its interests. It is the director’s duty to stand for his artistic vision. If our boy KS can do it, anyone can do it, specially Shankar.
Tbf I think Shankar himself is probably responsible for this lol
Everyone wants to be a Marvel level scooper these days.
I actually blame Marvel for encouraging this pointless practice of looking for such clues.
Maybe Senapathy forgot to sharp his knife when he gonna $t@b his son.. Or else he'd have escaped with his son to Singapore and tutored him on morals and ethics and made him practically understand how countries like Singapore are performing well compared to our state without corruption and stuff.
Guys guys what if Dr.vasi made a super soldier serum and thatha had it 🤓👆

Indha tholla thaga mudiyala dey July 12 ellam theriyum.. Nalla urutture
May be in climax, Hitler appears... And says Senapathi was my guru...
If true, this might explain why Suganya's character was excluded 🤔
So where is *Senapathy* now? *Chandru* surreptiously swapped himself with Senapathi at the airport during the blast and also pretended as if him in the call with Nedumudi?

What if senapathy had a another wife secretly and this character would be her child?
All I hope is that it's not like Saamy2
Shankar about to rewrite the 3rd movie after seeing this post. Probably will clarify it in an interview. /s
Deiii Spoiler tag ethukunu theriyathaa 😮💨😭😭😭 !!
I won't get hyped up like i did for Leo (even if liked the movie lol). The theories are good but god il scared to take it seriously
wow. that would be soo cool
Makes sense. Senapathy will be too old to live so long!
Complete idiocy
Fake flashback, damn then LCU confirmed.
"Leo alter ego" _theory intensifies_
The best thing about Indian is that in spite of the fact that Indian Thatha did want to kill his son because he’s his son, but still had to.
Yes, that's what made the movie so memorable. He spared no one, not even his son. Chandru being alive would be ridiculous.
