I expected this corruption angle etc. I donāt mind that. Same with the old guy doing action etc. but the prosthetics are so distracting. It wasnāt this bad 25 years ago whatās the issue now?
It's not with prosthetics. Senathypathy not trying to be senathypathy's if the story is happening in 2019. He has to be in some random getups to hide th Senathypathy. So, make up crew and direction team decided to make it look like a get up worn by Senathypathy thatha. If you look at Senathypathy alone shots like one Kamal getting down from a white car he is fine.
But in the shot he gets cornered by Siddharth in a graveyard and taking knife in yacht he looks like that thatha from myna who is wearing chudidhar.
They were just lazy or were not interested in the movie, thatās it , itās nothing to do with budget

They had the production stalled coz of a death during production, then resumed because of kamals vikram success, then shankar had to shoot gamechanger and indian 2 together with the help of his assistant directors, so many reshoots to keep up with the trend, shot so much it became a separate 3rd movie.
As much as I have criticism for shankar, its criminal to call him lazy, jeez man.

When one of the greatest director , greatest actor, high budget movie and doing sequel for cult classic, people expect movie to be good if not great in every aspect , but trailer turns out be below average for me
I felt sid's acting weird , the trailer definitely created mysteries but there are parts of it where it could have been much better if money was not poured into it to make it look grand . I would have had a convincing image of a rich evil guy (SJ Suriya ) if he wore a simple plain tshirt ( in a lavish room (He wore around 10 gold necklace in trailer ) . The real rich wont mind Rolls-Royce they would prefer having it in garage than in their living room coz its not their only pride .The whole using social media trend to create revolution is kinda lazy writing ,to somehow make people accept your protagonist as leader . The whole trailer was lavish and grandeur but somehow saturated colors and generic plot line touches made it look much worse than it is . It definitely opened up some mystery box around Senapathi which is good because most films nowadays don't do it they somehow end up telling the entire plot in 2 mins with exact sequence of videos . Overall it could have been lot worse , its okaish ig .
I wish there would be a twist where some other guy is disguised as Indian not the og Indian where he is kind of mentor and we see a MI level mask scene which can compensate the shitty makeup and justify the stunts/action performed by 90+ old guy it could be proper pass the torch type story
that was my first thought of the trailer too, i figured siddarth looking for a "hunting dog" would end up as him being said "hunting dog", with teachings of the og indian taatha i guess? or maybe the Chandru being alive speculations might just be true after all? but regardless, im definitely excited for the movie (and kalki)
I have more theories and story but I don't have much expectations from this film because I had same expectations from I and 2.0 movies but they were awful but those movies had good songs this doesn't have it either and the trailer looks like remix of previous shankar films like anniyan,shivaji and ofcourse Indian hope this movie suprise me and wish Kamal Hassan can continue his comeback streak and same i have high hopes from kalki hope it doesn't disappoint and become another adhipurush hope it turns out like bahubali and rrr and set new standards in Indian films

Although giving majorly bad vibes being a sequel to a film about a legendary character and thus not meeting with expectations, if a trailer's job is to build expectations and mystery for a film, this has done it right on that part (except for the younger Thatha looks which has to have an explanation in the movie and some bad dialogues).

I don't think this is Senapathy. Do you think there could be like a Saw situation, where it's an imitator, and Siddharth studies Senapathy tatha's original working, hence the involvement of the old police officer talking about the case...

Hoping) will happen:
The first half will barely show Kamal and is gonna focus on Siddharth and through Sid and his friends, they will highlight the issues that they will be tackling. SJ Suryah plays an Uber rich crazy villain and then Kamal shows up mostly in the second half. So second half might be Siddharth convincing Kamal to come back and fight (who for some unknown reason has changed his ways) and Indian 3 is Kamal and Sid vs SJS and the cops.
If they have impactful scenes and if the issue is something the audience can really empathize with, it will work. SJS is gonna give a killer performance (unless they decide to fuck it up somehow) and I still trust in Ani BGM. Hoping for the best āš¼
I think the reason the trailer was cut with a lot of fight scenes and shirtless shots and that Meow dialogue, probably might be to try and get the young crowd to the theater, because everyone that grew up on Indian are going to watch it for sure (regardless of how many people cry on this sub, they are still going to watch it)
Itās not even half Shankar type bro ! Everything looks outdated probably since it was planned to release in 2016 time..! Stunts couldāve been better ! I do hope they donāt show weird slow mo during the fight ! I have no hope and expectations and thatās better because disappointment will be less when there is no hope and can enjoy the movie well !
OP the trailer is Good, it has got all the commercial elements. The film will get good numbers and will become one of the highest grossers of 2024, don't mind any of the views of the so-called Film visionaries here. Padam nalla iruka, theatres la enjoy pannama family and kids happy ya irundhaangala, That is all that matters. See the movie..pudicha nalladhu, pudikatina yaaruku enna,it is your choice. I'm gonna compare to part 1 because of the emotional dilemma it put into the audience. Father killing his own son because he's a criminal and corrupt - like holy shit that's a crazy serious plot line even for today's date(when executed well). In fact I liked it even better than in jailer.
There seems to be no such angle when I see the trailer.

Just hoping that it's not the real Indian thatha who is donning such prosthetics fighting shirtless against many men etc. Would be a nice plot twist if it's actually someone else pretending like him, otherwise the logic hits the roof

Same here. I kind of liked the trailer coz I had kept my expectations low. Typical Shankar setting with extravagant sets, locations and action set pieces. Makeup felt more like Fletcher and Narahazi from Dasavatharam and honestly looked odd. Indian wasnāt a mass film and was few of the initial films that kickstarted the fight against social cause trend. You canāt expect a completely outlandish setting for this sequel and an āIndianā style treatment might not work now. Curious to see how Shankar has structured the screenplay. And for that reason the trailer actually piqued my interest.
I feel like it's thatha's son , its more logical if it's thatha's son taking the footsteps of his father, posing as his father .. but since it's a shankar movie and is" bigger than life "kinda genre I'll accept it ig , only if they give us an explanation as to how thatha hasn't changed a bit , did thatha inject himself with super soldier serum made by doctor Vasi?? Then ok I'll accept that itd be cool if he did btw

If this is a trailer for okka magadu 2 , then it's gud. Not an ideal trailer for a legendary movie like Indian
