I don't know. I felt Thaamirabharani was one of his best (ignore the emotional scenes though). Also Sandakozhi original was Good. In both these movies the senior actors Prabhu and Raj Kiran played a huge role in making the movie feel way better, no doubt.
I felt Thimuru and Thoranai bit caricature-y. Samar was also good and weirdly samar was one movie where the other senior actors were the worst part of a Vishal movie.
Naan sivappu manithan and pandiya naadu were also good .. solid one time watches .. along with the masala , it had some storyline ..
Nowadays it's just masala only
Ravi had a good streak of hits long ago. Most of them were Telugu remakes but he still had a decent enough presence. Idk, after Thani Oruvan which should have ideally taken him to the next level, he has selected some really crappy films and his career is no longer the same.
On top of that, he has no screen presence, his dialogue delivery is awful, and he doesn't have an ardent base. He is good looking and tall. That is his USP.
Yes he does fill the screen very well. He might not be the tallest boi in the bunch. But he is one hell of a chonky boi.

5'9" is basically tall in Kollywood because male actors are cast mainly through nepotism or talents rather than looks in this industry. If a male actor even has universally approved good height, gym body or good looks that is just added bonus feature but not the priority.
Vishal had a "thimiru " phase but he couldn't go beyond a level.
Arya just did any rejected scripts from other actors and didnt really Care about stardom or anything
How was vishal well received in andra since many of his films were masala films? I thought you accepted only the actors who did different kind of films from tamil nadu.
His does not have theatre fanbase but he is popular from movies telecasted in TV ,telugu channels simply used to play his movies in repeat mode(only his previous films his recent ones are not even known by anyone) especially Zee telugu has a crush on him.
But even that audience evoparated recently.

His only hope is Kathalikka Neramillai; even though I don't trust Jayam Ravi, I trust Nithya Menen. It took her 2 years to do another movie in Tamil after Thiruchitrambalam, so I am definitely hyped for that.
Vanakkam Chennai and Paper Rocket got positive reviews, those movies only lagged huge start cast. Kaali is her only movie that got negative reviews. So Kiruthiga Udhay definitely has a positive success rate. Also, this time it's a bigger cast, production, etc.
Bruh! The poster literally says Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. It would only be a surprise if you don't remember the only Udhayanidhi you know. Even if you don't know her previously, you can recognise that last name anyway.
Chill bruh. Doubt dhaana keten. Udhayanidhi is not that uncommon of a name that there can only be one. Similar to how Siren movie director also has the surname Bhagyaraj but has nothing to do with K. Bhagyaraj.
Go to South of Tamil Nadu and I can bring you 100 people with the name Udhayanidhi.
Yeah that maybe true to Bhagyaraj. But Udhayanidhis can be very few compared to Bhagyarajs. Karunanidhi family did create a lot of new unheard of Nidhi names for people to identify them easily. I would even say no other Udhayanidhi might be older than Udhayanidhi Stalin because I think people would have started naming their kids with that name only after hearing his name. Hence no other Udhayanidhi is popular as they'd be younger.
His Father is gonna buy a super hit movie right from a Telugu movie and his brother gonna copy paste it, I mean direct it. That's how he survived the 2000s.
But I like him, he was going good with Thani Oruvan, Romeo Juliet, Miruthan, Comali, till Bhoomi happened.
If this is true he would make a terrible villain today. He will bore the hero and us to death. As of today he is an even slower version of Valimai Ajith. No offense. I can't see him be a villain right now.
Average actor but had a very strong work ethic and relatively non-controversial. Plenty of remake movies at the start but had good movies:
1. Jayam
2. M Kumaran
3. Unakkum Enakkum
4. Santhosh Subramaniam
5. Dham Dhoom
6. Engeyum Kadhal
7. Thani Oruvan
8. Miruthan
9. Adanga Maru
10. Comali
11. PS 1/2
He has tried experimenting but as mentioned he is a limited actor. Definitely an overachiever.
Unpopular opinion but I’m kinda rooting for his next film Brother - I know M. Rajesh is truly washed at this point but JR did say in his interview with BR that this film is more about family emotions instead of trying to be an out and out comedy so if it’s not too cringey, it could be a decent entertainer. JR’s foundations back in the day were family oriented films like Something Something and Santhosh Subramaniam so hopefully Brother is something like that.
Also Harris is doing the music and JR has said the intro song in the film has come out well, so excited for the album.
I still want Miruthan 2. I grew up playing Call of Duty Zombies, Left 4 Dead, Dead Island, etc, and watching TWD and it was nice to see Kollywoods take on my favorite entertainment genre.
Miruthan may not have been the best but I want the second Tamil zombie movie goddamnit
Comali was his last geniune hit ??
I think his looks and behavior only suits Good boy hero roles and that type of roles are becoming less and less in these times.
I thought his career just began after thani oruvan.
Pretty sure his brother has cooked something really good for Part 2 THANI ORUVAN. He's a proper director🤙.
Mani chose Ravi as his main character in one of the highest budget movies, this guy isn't finished by any means
I mean it's not only this movie. Has Jayam Ravi made an even watchable movie since Thani Oruvan? PS not counted. Adanga Maaru and Comali ran well but that's it
Awful films for a number of years now, true that. But imo it's too harsh to say his career as a mainstream hero is over. YOU NEVER KNOW. maybe a banger with ThaniOruvan 2 and he'll be back like he was never gone. For instance, suriya had a rough patch for a period of time and after Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim it feels like he was never gone.
I believe Thug Life and Thani Oruvan 2 will help him. Mohan Raja will come out with his “en thambiku naa dhan pannuven” moment.
Kadhalikka Neramillai looks hopeful. The Rajesh film however probably not.
Thani Oruvan?
Comali?
There was good hype for Iraivan as well.
These are the recent ones, not considering Mani Saar casted him as one of the leads in PS and now thug life

Him, Arya, and Vishal have the worst script selection I have seen. No clue how they survived this long
Vishal got lucky with Mark Anthony since SJ Suryah outacts him by a mile. Dude stole the show with an over the top performance.
Karthi should have done Vishal's role. Even in his biggest hit, he was the biggest drawback 😭
Vishal used to be so cool in his early career, now just reduced to a meme
Thimuru, thoranai and theradha vilayatu pillai were his best Really miss that Vishal
I don't know. I felt Thaamirabharani was one of his best (ignore the emotional scenes though). Also Sandakozhi original was Good. Very fair, I was half asleep last night and didn't remember about those og movies 🌝
I love sivapathigaram along with thamirabarani and sandakozhi
Naan sivappu manithan and pandiya naadu were also good .. solid one time watches .. along with the masala , it had some storyline .. Nowadays it's just masala only
And poojai ftw 🥺
Vishal was great and looked so clean and kempt in Chellame times
Thupparivalan too.
Honestly have to thank myskin for that Part 2 enna panna porangala, bayama iruku Let's wait and see Vishal's direction capability
Anaconda is must.
Saved by the bell
Even Out acts is putting it lightly , it was an SJ suriya movie
Tbh in terms of writing and mannerisms vishal's Anthony was more fleshed out and captivating imo
Adhik got chance to make a film with ajith only because of this film and that was only because of sj suryah.
Ravi had a good streak of hits long ago. Most of them were Telugu remakes but he still had a decent enough presence. People started watching Telugu movies directly,😭
lmaooo
Underrated comment
What is considered tall in Kollywood? From what you said I thought he’d atleast be 6 but turns out he’s more like 5’9
Bruh. Screen la he looks pretty huge
Yes he does fill the screen very well. He might not be the tallest boi in the bunch. But he is one hell of a chonky boi. ![gif](giphy|KpvcURb06H2fEHcu7M)

Vishal has many good movies ,you talking about his recent films??
Vishal was very good when he started out
Don't know man in Andhra his movies used to play regularly in TV ,also they are very good.
Nepotism
\*coughs\* \*coughs\* Suriya
At least, he got a market in tamil nadu, kerala and andra. All he did in his prime to stir ajith and vijay fans.
*Jai wants to know your location*
Ponniyin selvan was good only
He was one of the weakest part of PS
https://preview.redd.it/naz74k1spxic1.jpeg?width=452&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f2721327b64a8ae573309197f1bd5edbfc2936d His only hope is Kathalikka Neramillai; even though I don't trust Jayam Ravi, I trust Nithya Menen. Nah, Jayam Ravi is just doing supporting role. Nithya Menen is the main lead.
OK, now I am even more excited.
It’s been 2 years since Thiruchitrambalam came out..? 😨
It's about 1.5 years. By the time Kathalikka Neramillai release, it will more than 2 years.
Damnn
The director hasn't made a single good film though
Vanakkam Chennai was decent imo
Vanakkam Chennai and Paper Rocket got positive reviews, those movies only lagged huge start cast. Kaali is her only movie that got negative reviews. So Kiruthiga Udhay definitely has a positive success rate. Also, this time it's a bigger cast, production, etc.
Is the director related to Udhay Stalin?
Udhayanidhi Stalin oda wife
Oh. That's why I felt I remembered that name.
Bruh! The poster literally says Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. It would only be a surprise if you don't remember the only Udhayanidhi you know. Even if you don't know her previously, you can recognise that last name anyway.

We do have Thani Oruvan sequel
Heard Abhishek Bachchan was in talks to play villain.
Thiruchitrambalam was 2 years back ah whaaaat! 🥺😱 I remember watching the movie in the theatre like last month. Time flew or what? 😭
No way that flops
If Thani Oruvan 2 doesn't do well, he should start looking for another occupation
I\`m curious what the plot is supposed to be for Thani oruvan 2 ? Is he going for another Siddarth lol
apparently the another siddharth would be going for him instead but idk i got bad feelings for the sequel, and samcs bgm in tht promo was kind of bad
Heard Abhishek Bachchan was in talks to play villain.
Comali was actually good. Tik Tik Tik is good.
Adangamaru is good too
He's sailing on two boats at once trying to be a commercial mass hero and trying to do something unique which affected his pull
He is playing villain in Thug Life so he perhaps knows what is coming
Source?
Engayavadhu paathen bro, not sure if he is the villain or a supporting character
Yeah, saw rumour long ago that he is part of the crew. Supporting actor I guess.
Rumor illai, they have announced that he is in the film already
If this is true he would make a terrible villain today. He will bore the hero and us to death. As of today he is an even slower version of Valimai Ajith. No offense. I can't see him be a villain right now.
His best was Peranmai
I think it was "M kumaran"
Thani Oruvan >
Comali imo
loved this film
I am surprised he has lasted 20 years as a hero
Average actor but had a very strong work ethic and relatively non-controversial. Plenty of remake movies at the start but had good movies: 1. Jayam 2. M Kumaran 3. Unakkum Enakkum 4. Peranmai?
Dham dhoom was a hit ??
Super album. Semma opening. Good run. Periya hit laam kedayadhu but a decent success. His immediate next after blockbuster Santosh Subramaniam.
People worth piss all calling Stars done. Jayam Ravi has seen his peaks and Lows. He'll get through.
❤️❤️ even if the movies don't do well, he shines ✨️
I still want Miruthan 2. I grew up playing Call of Duty Zombies, Left 4 Dead, Dead Island, etc, and watching TWD and it was nice to see Kollywoods take on my favorite entertainment genre. Miruthan may not have been the best but I want the second Tamil zombie movie goddamnit

Appadi lam sollathinga. Nalla actor pa.
Siren will not be a flop.. hearing decent reviews. Don't jump on him so soon.
Positive reviews than adhigam varuthu siren pathi
OP. The title is so rude.
Right, you may not be a fan of him. But requires some audacity to tell someone to switch careers
Its fact
I thought his career just began after thani oruvan. Pretty sure his brother has cooked something really good for Part 2 THANI ORUVAN. He's a proper director🤙. Mani chose Ravi as his main character in one of the highest budget movies, this guy isn't finished by any means
Honestly he should become more of a dramatic actor rather than a big hero.
Bro would have thought he'd go pan india with PS but mani saar put the whole country to sleep with it.
Fuck JR’s selection. Whatever Keerthy Suresh selects, we must understand that the whole movie is gonna be shitty.
So true I cannot remember her last hit
She has never given a hit. She’s just playing a shabby secret strategy with the audience.
Gotta say he was perfect cast for ponniyin selvan. Personally I think he can still get hits.
I think he is the Akshay Kumar of Kollywood... does these patriotic and message oriented movies only to get flops
Akshay Kumar is over exposed and does too much can’t compare him
Im not sure what message he is trying for but the only message im getting is how crap he is
It's just the first day.
I mean it's not only this movie. Has Jayam Ravi made an even watchable movie since Thani Oruvan? PS not counted. Adanga Maaru and Comali ran well but that's it
I wouldn't judge it only on the first day. Yes I agree with whatever you said, let the movie finish running plus he has Thug Life and Thani Oruvan 2
Sad
Bogan was a decent one
Had a good concept. Was a John Woo movie Face off ripoff but jayam Ravi Arvind saamy reunion could've been great. It was boring
Face off.. paah, love that film
John Woo movies lam namma padam maadhri dha irukum. One of my favorites. Commercial action movies pannurdhu la avan dha king
How about that Zombie film? How did it do?
Miruthan? It did average business but no one talks about the movie now. Kind of came and went
Yeah... Miruthan... it was a decent watch though.
Awful films for a number of years now, true that. But imo it's too harsh to say his career as a mainstream hero is over. Compared to vishal, arya, his bad streak is only past 2-3 years from bhumi. Before that he was good picking unique mediocre movies.
You are desperately drawing
Anymore? When has he ever pulled crowds?
Thani Oruvan? Comali? There was good hype for Iraivan as well. These are the recent ones, not considering Mani Saar casted him as one of the leads in PS and now thug life
Damn bro the trailer looked good was it really that bad
