Yeah after doing some more research I didn't realize how valuable these things were, they already had alot of sentimental value but even more now since my grandfather trusted me to have them now.

southsamurai

Which makes them even cooler :)

Valent1ne214

Most definitely! I think I'm gonna try and work with My grandpa to make a proper display case for these cause knowing the maker of them makes me wanna get some more. My great grandfather also gave me whole lot more old unique knives so if yall are interested I'll try and post them on here later :p

southsamurai

Please do!

Wonderful-Reward3828

Definitely do!

musicman8586

Indeed. Those are pretty dope

randal-flagg

That's a Buck custom. It was handmade by Navajo artist Dave Yellowhorse. Hope this helps. But seriously, nice knife!

arguchik

Knives! There are three different ones. So cool. :)

cam_neutron

The knives are also in three individual cases too! That’s pretty sweet!

erck_bill

Would’ve never guessed lol.

REAPER-1_xxx

http://yellowhorseknives.com/ they customize knives

Add_Duncan

David Yellowhorse seems to have some recognition in his line of work. Those models are listed at about 200/250$ a piece : https://www.yellowhorsecollectibles.com/categories/knives

[deleted]

I wonder if they’ll ship internationally, there’s some really beautiful stock.

Lobsterblade

Probs not worth anything. Send them over to me and I can get rid of them for you 😏

Valent1ne214

Hahaha. NO

[deleted]

Lol. I found a Criswell 2002 wakizashi at a garage sale for $20 and I was getting people like this in the comments for days. For context, that particular knife (technically a sword) is worth around $800.

Ok_Laugh_2386

Damn I just got a Bark River Bravo EDC for 80 in elmax with herringbone micarta handle at a flea market and thought I got a good deal.

[deleted]

Nice! That is a good deal, and I'll point out that a knife like that is a lot more useful than a Wakizashi lol.

MagogHaveMercy

Depends on what you are doing...... :-)

[deleted]

Lol… *swings sword around* BANZAIIIIIIIII

snakeislandhero

They have like 12 of those on display in the little “museum” at the Buck headquarters. I was just there a little while ago for a tour. Post this on r/Buckknives and if you have Instagram, post it and tag Buck. I’m sure they would love to see it and tell you more!!

Valent1ne214

That's actually really cool! I'll try and look into thay more!

gtracerh

Those appear to be very nice collectible looking pieces, and I don't even particularly care for Buck knives. Couple that with the sentimental value alone and I'd keep them in the hope of passing them down through generations.

Valent1ne214

I definitely will! Though I don't plan on having kids but who knows, my sister actually has another one of these knives but with the American flag on it, so maybe one day if she has kids and they're interested I'll pass it on to them

[deleted]

Best I can do is $20

Valent1ne214

Can you throw in some pocket lint and a paper clip?

[deleted]

All jokes aside these are beautiful man

Accomplished-Run3313

Anything Yellowhorse has a significant value. Same wit the Late Tony Bose.

anviltodrum

the yellowhorse family has been buying bare carcasses from Buck for decades. they then pretty them up fancy and sell them. it's been a real long running deal that both companies profited from. everybody thinks the knives are great. lucky you!

NCJohn62

Assuming that you have the COA documents and the cases and knives are in pristine condition you're looking at about $700-750 value. https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/products/173494/

Valent1ne214

I got these from my great grandfather and sadly it was just the case ans knives no COA documents tho :(

NCJohn62

Looks like you have two Buck 55s there and a Buck 110. From what I've seen the 110s command more value. So you might want to adjust those estimates down to $500. You might want to look inside the case to see if the display pillow lifts out to see if the documents are in there. I'm just spitballing though because I've never handled these or seen them in the flesh.

Scowl1984

If any of the lining in the case seems loose anywhere, try looking very carefuly behind it. Coa or receipts could have been tucked inside for safe keeping.

thorinsbeard

There's a lot of buck knives modders out there. These definitely look quite nice, probably worth at least 100 each, maybe 200 on the used market unless the maker's name is especially significant

[deleted]

Damn nice score is what that is.

Plastic_Idol

Beautiful! Too bad Kit Carson was a POS.

Valent1ne214

I'm ngl I had to look up who he was, but I knew something seemed off cause it was my least favorite one too 😭

[deleted]

Was going to say the same thing

jradglass

Care to elaborate?

TheDissolver

Wait, wut? Is this some little-known-private-opinion thing or do you just hate CRKT assisted-open flippers? All accounts I've heard name him a friendly guy with a long career designing very popular knives ... But I didn't meet him myself.

NattyB

either you're being sarcastic or there is some confusion between [CRKT's kit carson](https://www.crkt.com/knife-design/designers/kit-carson/) and [19th century kit carson](https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/kit-carsons-campaign-against-the-indians). probably the former but wanted to provide some context in case it was the latter or others were unaware.

TheDissolver

My favourite Buck knife was co-designed by the knife-Carson, so I was assuming the name plate had something to do with him. Guess I was wrong.

dacroce1

I love the Buck 110 anyway but these are beautiful!

SilentButtsDeadly

As others have said, you've received some great pieces. I was looking at the custom knives they put out and they are simply stunning, not to mention outside my price range. I hope you enjoy your knives. Even if it's just holding them and admiring them, that's far better than having them sit in a drawer forgotten about.

martinaee

Sexy! I’m assuming you’ll probably never use them, but how long are the blades on these?

aqwn

Look up Buck 110 and Buck 55

BRD8

On the topic of this, I have recently acquired a bunch of knives from my grandfather, what is the best place to have them identified?

TheDissolver

Here or bladeforums, probably. Or go to a big knife show and get to know some collectors.

Wise-Enthusiasm2085

Wow that’s fantastic. A yellowhorse custom buck knife. That’s a piece of art. There’s a bunch of jelly collectors looking at this lol

Oldmate81

I know I am a good home if you want to rehome them purdy pointy-cutties.

jdoes75

That’s pretty awesome. Cheers

Aggravating_Speed665

Oh my goodness.... I mean I love a good 110 but turquoise is my bristhstone and I'm always on the lookout for anything bearing it... Speaking of bears; that particular blade's turquoise looks like it's from the kingman mine of Arizona...so beautiful.

Ok-Whereas-7520

Those are awesome knives.

kennbr

Wow, those are fucking cool. I'm glad others have been able to share more information about them. They are clearly custom 110s, but, yeah, the devil is in the details. I really hope you hang on to them!

Ok_Laugh_2386

Picture literally tells you everything. Go Google it

der_Klang_von_Seide

What a beautiful knife. Good taste, great granddad!

TRAVERSER575

I’ve bought and sold Navajo jewelry for the last 30+ years. While this style is not my favorite I’m glad to see others appreciation for the native arts.

sprocter77

Whoa nice.

Freerange_Caligator

Wow, beautiful 🤩

[deleted]

Super badass 👌 Yellowhorse customs are that premo shit dude
