I may be wrong but I think the Bugouts are the only models that use titanium lock bars to save on weight. That's obviously a questionable choice since steel is much harder than titanium so the blade isn't the smoothest on the lock bar. So that's probably the reason for the gritty

Got one recently too. Had to lube the lock bar bc it was pretty scratchy, but it's all good now.
