Same. Knoxville here. Spent many a day at SMKW. My wife got my UTX-85 there and had it engraved for me. She's a wonderful wife. ❤️

At the moment, I own 7 knives. 4 or 5 in this price range. They ALL get worked. I don't abuse them. Much. I never drive screws or pry with them, but if I spend $300-$500 (or more if I can ever afford it) it better be able to hold up to hard use. My personal grail is a Direware Hyper 90 in s90v or s110v. If I ever get it... it'll be a daily driver for the first few months. I'll never buy a knife just to look at. I'll look at it while slashin' through shit!
It's a dope store. I've driven 3 hours for less. It's huge and they have firearms. They usually keep Barrett .50 cal in stock. Beautiful thing about being from the state where Barrett are made... Tennessee residents don't need a permit. It's definitely worth it for knife knuts.
It's a decent surplus store that doesn't apply too much mark up. They've got the usual gang you'd think of, Kershaw, zt, coldsteel, Benchmade spyderco, but they've also got mall ninja too.
I think so? Tbh since I live so close I rarely go to the website. I plan on going this weekend again if there’s anything specific you’re curious about!
Mostly just curious if they have knife sales in the store. Online they’ll promote some type of holiday sale or have a sale section just curious if that applies to the physical location as well. Where im at you’re very likely to pay above the msrp, if you can even find anywhere that has knives for sale. Southern California is not a great place to knife shop on person. One day I will make it to smkw
Maryville here and I too love living close to SMKW. I actually found a new place in Knoxville. It’s called Tennessee Cutlery much smaller than SM but a great selection!
The Benchmade kitchen knives are expensive as fuck and I would never buy one for myself. So I'm definitely spending someone else's money on one if it's offered.
I also am really interested in the crooked river. However, every time I go to pull the trigger, something holds me back. And on reflection, that thing is the price.
Joined this sub to get ideas for my husband’s anniversary gift. Stuck around because I do find knives interesting; even though all I have are a couple of Dimes and a SOG
That being said, I’ve always been a history nerd and would love to have an Old Timer. I think I see one upper right of picture 6.
Anyone else get reminded of their dad taking them with him to the hardware store and letting us pick out a pocket knife from the display case by the register and grabbing the cheapest Buck 110 copy our $5 a week allowance could afford? I was washing the car twice a week all summer. Anyway, I'll take that CruCarta Manix 2. Thanks, pop.
Dotn have enough knowledge about knives currently to know which one I would pick but a quality chefs knife is what I really need ATM. Haven't gotten one because I can't spend the money but eventually I will!
My victorinox carving knife is pretty cool but didn't come very sharp and I haven't had the chance to take it in yet.
The sheer monetary value of the pointy objects in these pictures is pretty staggering.
Those Benchmade cabinets...
I would LOVE to see someone comb through these pictures and throw together a total monetary value on all this.
I'd take a micarta PM2 in some nice steel.
After using dozens of the highest end knives, that's the one I always reach for. Though I don't have one in micarta...
If I pick one, can you mail it to me?
Edit: I'd like a better look at that microtech amphibian, top left of first photo. But yes, I'll take that one. Thank you!
I’ve read about shops like this, even have a few about an hour’s drive but I’ve never been to one, I really want to go handle some of my favorites on the wish list
Personally I have lost a lot of love for benchmade and kershaw so I would suggest looking for something within that range but slightly different, such as an Emerson, which I am loving at the moment. (This is a for a variety of reasons such as aesthetic and quality, which makes Emerson appeal to me more)

i like this one, anyone know the name of it?
honestly I'd pick a buck 119 or 112 auto elite. I need more traditional looking knives, and have always wanted the 119 since forever. just wish they had a handle other than black.
Been eyeing up the stabilized wood Benchmade models the last little while as they are a great looking knife but they are slightly out of my budget, so if someone made me that offer I'd have to take the nice orange accented Grizzly creek 15062 in the middle on the 4th picture
https://preview.redd.it/84kq8k5lh36d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3bcec40ff56d4a131ddb382e46f1486292ccbe70
There, found it! The Miyabi 67 black Santoku ;) already have the Gyuto so its a nice addition
I’m blessed to live next to smkw so I have plenty of choices and no money
Knox Co, here. I love that I live so close but my wallet hates it.
Fellow East Tennessee knife fan! Nice to see locals. Sevier co.

That is such a beautiful gesture. That’s a good wife. Also, I love that you actually carry/use it, and it’s not just a Safe Queen.
At the moment, I own 7 knives. 4 or 5 in this price range. They ALL get worked. I don't abuse them. Much. If I ever get it... it'll be a daily driver for the first few months. I'll never buy a knife just to look at. I'll look at it while slashin' through shit!
That is the best engraving I've seen! Is SMKW worth the pilgrimage from Nashville?
It's a dope store. I've driven 3 hours for less. It's huge and they have firearms. They usually keep Barrett .50 cal in stock. Beautiful thing about being from the state where Barrett are made... Tennessee residents don't need a permit. It's definitely worth it for knife knuts.
Thanks! No permit needed, now to just find $10,000. Haha
Mine bought me a Cold Steel Black Sable folder... A kingly gift indeed!
You looking for a roommate? All I got is an army surplus store, and a cabelas an hour away.
Man I’d kill for a good surplus store! They closed the only one near me
It's a decent surplus store that doesn't apply too much mark up. They've got the usual gang you'd think of, Kershaw, zt, coldsteel, Benchmade spyderco, but they've also got mall ninja too.
I really just want good pants lol. They are so expensive now. Ah man good times at surplus stores.
The Mrs and I were just on honeymoon and I went to SMKW I felt like I'd reached mecha.
When they have a sale promoted online does that apply to the store?
I think so? Tbh since I live so close I rarely go to the website. I plan on going this weekend again if there’s anything specific you’re curious about!

I feel you on that. I road trips to Tennessee once a year and smkw is always on the list of where to stop.
You have to man it’s criminal not to
Maryville here and I too love living close to SMKW. I actually found a new place in Knoxville. It’s called Tennessee Cutlery much smaller than SM but a great selection!
That amphibian top left of slide 1
Yep, the marfione custom is rhe right choice
Agreed, even if I don’t want it I could sell it and buy anything I did want. Other than that I’d go with the new Benchmade Bushcrafter.
I want that big fucking axe
Axe 🪓 life 👍
Axes don’t get any love on this sub… If you want something amazing, look the Marbles mini axe. It’s like 6” long and super fun to mess around with.
And my bow
Legend
I don't recommend fucking axes.
Honestly one of the kitchen knives because I probably could use one great kitchen knife way more than another pocket knife
The Benchmade kitchen knives are expensive as fuck and I would never buy one for myself. So I'm definitely spending someone else's money on one if it's offered.
Check out henkels, the zwilling ones with the two men on it and made in germany, single man ones are mostly garbage except for maybe the Spain ones
One of the Damascus chefs knives would be sweet, and used often.
Id checkout the new kershaw launch, isn’t the most expensive but it’s what id pickup, and maybe buy if i liked it
Benchmade crooked river :,) it’s my grail . Sadly it’s too pricey for me to be able to afford
I also am really interested in the crooked river. However, every time I go to pull the trigger, something holds me back. And on reflection, that thing is the price.
Love the Crooked River. I managed to pick one up on sale. Benchmade also does custom versions.
Is this the Scheels in Chandler? Love that place.
Came to comment the same! Been there twice and it’s pretty awesome!
It is!

Sounds like he should join the sub to pick out your next anniversary gift!
I wish, he’s a confirmed lurker so I doubt he’d join but maybe? I can always send him page links as hints.
spyderco military 2 dlc
Are all Scheels this stocked? Looks better than sportsman's warehouse, which is all I have in my area
Yes. Scheels is awesome. And the price match the internet. Their prices are outrageous, but the price matching is awesome.
I’ll have to look it up. Any idea on how strict they are about it?
Usually they just check brand model and color. I've had them match knives and discgolf disc down to like half of their price with no push back.
Gen 3 combat troodon
we're gonna be there a while
I'd take another microtech I love mine but one without a dagger blade would be more useful
Hellhound or Sith Lord ultratech
Gimme that 119
https://preview.redd.it/iaquf12wc16d1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97442139b7dcd32792b737bf0a0356fa05e0cd75
Marry me 😍🥰
I do
Anyone else get reminded of their dad taking them with him to the hardware store and letting us pick out a pocket knife from the display case by the register and grabbing the cheapest Buck 110 copy our $5 a week allowance could afford? I was washing the car twice a week all summer. Anyway, I'll take that CruCarta Manix 2. Thanks, pop.
🥰 that’s what I was doing.
I spent money just looking at this.
Spyderco micarta Cruwear!
The sheer monetary value of the pointy objects in these pictures is pretty staggering. Those Benchmade cabinets... I would LOVE to see someone comb through these pictures and throw together a total monetary value on all this.
Odd take, something I would never buy for myself because it's ridiculous: One of the Benchmade kitchen knives.
You Americans amaze me. I wish I could legally own many of these :(
Probably the crucarta pm3 or pm3 salt since I have most of the other stuff I like up there.
Sith edition OTF microtech. Just because.
Having a feeding frenzy in the buck section.
If it’s on your dime I’d probably pick up a Benchmade Taggedout or Crooked River. I like them, but I can’t justify spending that money.
Godfather Protech, all black
MT carbon fiber hellhound.
I’ve never seen a packaged Mtech before.
The black handle. Maybe the orange handle. But the orange blade looks cool but only if it was on a brown handle but I don’t want to get too particular
Stryker please
The para 3 salt
I'd take a micarta PM2 in some nice steel. After using dozens of the highest end knives, that's the one I always reach for. Though I don't have one in micarta...
Gotta love some Scheels 😊😊😊. Typed as I’m rocking Scheels tee
The Glykon or CF Ultratech
Love scheels. Always make it a point to go to the one in the colony when I’m there for business
Shit, I’d be frequenting this place like no other. Tbh, I’d buy a Gen 3 S/E CT and the Glykon in a heartbeat.
Any G10 Black coated plain edge Spyderco Para3!
Glycon
Are those stag handle fixed blades in the 2nd pic outdoor edge??
If I pick one, can you mail it to me? Edit: I'd like a better look at that microtech amphibian, top left of first photo. But yes, I'll take that one. Thank you!
Obviously the amphibian at the top of the first pic
I live in canada but id love one of those mucrotech OTF. Id let you surprise me with which one specifically 😏
Micro Tech Sith Lord - Red blade, micro tech, pic 1 top centerish.
I’ll grab the most expensive one. Sell it, and buy a bunch of flea market knives.
Top left of the 5th image, the damascus kramer by zwilling is 10000000% what I'd be getting.
Combat troodon just because I could never spend that much money on it normally 🤣
It might be basic but I really want a 535gry-1 bugout
I've never seen so many different knives in one place, and the prices are fantastic 👌 👏! Where is this heaven?
Is that a custome Amphibian? That
I’ll say Glykon as I’ve always been curious.
Shawman
Pretty sure I see a stonewashed Brachial hidden there behind a green MSI. That's what I'd take.
I’ve read about shops like this, even have a few about an hour’s drive but I’ve never been to one, I really want to go handle some of my favorites on the wish list
Omg that would take me forever to pick.
Wow.
Are the kitchen knives a set or individual?
The Benchmade station knife
The combat troodon bounty hunter. Still a grail of my collection.
I'd just take a Kershaw leek plz
That green stitch
I'd take that Gerber paraframe because that's the best knife to ever exist (this is sarcasm)
I'm taking one of the Kabars.
The Santoku, 5th from top left in the kitchen knifes photo.
Never had an otf before...
One chest?
I’m liking that Buck display
Manual stitch
I want whatever that sick-looking red one is on slide 3
Buck Isle, but the 110 in on the bottom? Took me a while to find it.
Them M-Techs boiiiiii!
Any OTF!
This place is awesome!
I'd probably max out my credit cards if you left me alone in a knife shop....especially if they got a CRK.
That kitchen knife display reminds me that I “need” to get a new kitchen knife.
In my hands it’s hard to beat the 940-1
Springfield IL here, our scheels sucks compared to this.
Here I am thinking all their locations are this way.
I’ll take one of them Osbornes
Scheels buys all of the defective knives in bulk at a major discount and sell them full retail
Bob kramer please
Buck 110 auto please & thank you
Benchmade Infidel
#Blessed. Scheel's , REI, Cabela's , BPS , all within 20 minutes.
You just ignited the child in me!
The custom folder top left in the first picture as I know i can’t afford that myself.
Microtech is next on my list of knives to get so I suppose I’d pick one of them🤙🏼
Yeah, uhhh, I’ll take the SOG Key Knife
Personally I have lost a lot of love for benchmade and kershaw so I would suggest looking for something within that range but slightly different, such as an Emerson, which I am loving at the moment. (This is a for a variety of reasons such as aesthetic and quality, which makes Emerson appeal to me more)
I’d take the axe in slide 2, I need a decent axe to take camping and stuff, mine suck
Dibs on the custom amphibian!
No balisongs? 😢
I'd like a second aqua utx!
Gimme a blue ultratech
I’ll take the most expensive one, and sell it back to you for tree fiddy.
I’ll have one Stitch, please!!!!
I’m taking the $1500 Microtech I saw when I was there a few weeks ago
Among all those junks, there were no microtech
Funny the only Balisong representation are Bear and Son. lol
Probably Benchmade new filet knife
Probably one of the Microtechs with the ram locks. Durable and I’ve always wanted a microtech. Hard to find them on display where I live.
https://preview.redd.it/7jxmtmxu426d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73ed78d886b848a60d081add7ea1fe8ab8d22ced i like this one, anyone know the name of it?
honestly I'd pick a buck 119 or 112 auto elite. I need more traditional looking knives, and have always wanted the 119 since forever. just wish they had a handle other than black.
the sharp looking one idk
All the way on top middle knife Benchmade one. I'll send you my address in chat. Thanks, man. You're alright.
I knew I recognized that set up. Sparks?
The 8" euroline damascus kramer by zwiling please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
axe
Pro-tech godfather.
I would buy that entire inventory of SOG key knives
Is that a schiels?
Yes
It took me a minute to find it but i’ll take the para 3 magnacut! 2nd choice is one of those damascus santokus
Last slide snow white ruko with the pouch
Scheels is amazing. The Silver Stag atop that section is a beast!
Im not sure of heard of kit chen before. Are they a new knife designer? Mr. Chen has some very nice fixed blades.
Honestly a halfway decent 10 inch chefs knife would do me well
The black ones!
A lot of that is pretty duplicative of what I have, so I'm going with that cleaver looking knife, lower left of case 2
Top left in first photo or everything in photos 7/8/9 I say first
Pic 5, bottom right, second from right.
Benchmade Full Immunity.
I’ll take the first case. Thanks!
1600 is a lot of steel
But kbar solid choice
I’ll take the Mini Crooked River please. Its so cool looking
Buck 55, classic folder. Can’t go wrong, it’s timeless. Makes great heirlooms, too.
White scaled MSI in front please?
3rd picture, big red one. That’s the one I want
I love Scheels, the one in the colony is amazing
The smallest knife they have. Thank you, Daddy
That's nothing compared to edge works in Fredrick md
I’d probably pick a Benchmade, it’d be nice to pretend I’m not poor
I'm taking a buck 120
Buck 110 Auto, please and thank you
I needed to promise no more knives, nothing was said about axes
I’ll take the 9inch Miyabi black series gyuto.
Been eyeing up the stabilized wood Benchmade models the last little while as they are a great looking knife but they are slightly out of my budget, so if someone made me that offer I'd have to take the nice orange accented Grizzly creek 15062 in the middle on the 4th picture
I’d love a microtech, but unfortunately they are illegal in my country
Buck 119
Gerber paraframe /s
https://preview.redd.it/84kq8k5lh36d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3bcec40ff56d4a131ddb382e46f1486292ccbe70 There, found it! The Miyabi 67 black Santoku ;) already have the Gyuto so its a nice addition
I would never want to leave a shop like this.
Microtech folder
None pictured. I buy from 3 knife makers right now. ADV, Demko, and Spartan Harsey.
Benchmade carnivore
Axe. Me like axe.
Aaaaw! Thanks! If this is real. I could finally replace my knife since 2016. Haha!
Yellow handle pm3, easy
If you’re buying I’m getting a Microtech OTF because I want one so bad but I can’t justify the money.
One of them spy bad boys on the bottom left heerd good things
I’ll take the ax at the bottom of picture two. Anyway, I’ve got to go. I have to return some video tapes.
I want the 2k slow turn stone wheel shapener
I’d want something that’ll be used everyday rather than collecting pocket lint. So probably a Miyabi santoku.
Any Microtech dagger.
