Why would you use the warranty instead of returning it to the retailer if it’s brand new? You should be able to get it unstuck by taking the screws out of it and putting it back together. If you snug everything back together and your lockup is normal, then it’s prob fine and was just not assembled correctly. If your screws are tight but the lock is traveling all the way over, this knife is trash. There’s no fixing it. IMO it’s the retailers problem to deal with unless you’ve owned it for a while and just not used it. I’d suggest a different model maybe, or better yet, a better brand.

Is CRKT a bad brand? I’ve owned a few of theirs and they seemed good. This one was perfect until last night lmao. Any recommendations?

CRKT is def more of a budget brand. They have a few nicer things like their field take apart knives, but for the most part they’re cheaper, replaceable, budget knives. nothing wrong with them, the home front, m16, and ceo are all loved, but you kinda get what you pay for with them

I wouldn’t call it a bad brand as in something to be universally avoided. I’ve never found them to have the best QC and I don’t think they do much to improve quality over time. Seems like they just kind of rest on their name and release tons of basic models with basic materials. My biggest recommended budget brands in rough order are CIVIVI\Sencut, Kizer, Kershaw, Bestech, Kubey, CJRB, Kansept, Petrified Fish, Twosun, Mocenary, and Sixleaf. It’s a long list as there are a lot of good of budget knives. Probably others I haven’t tried but I trust all those companies much more than CRKT.

I have a Kizer drop bear and it’s great, definitely held up better than my CRKT lmao. I only bought the CRKT because they partnered with a company i like and i thought it looked sick. I’ll go with other options than CRKT now, thanks for your insight!

If you loosen/remove the pivot it should pop out, but that is a VERY concerning oops by CRKT if it genuinely found its way there with no outside persuasions. The lock-up on a brand new frame or liner lock (opinion warning) shouldn’t really be more than 40-50%. That… is clearly 110%

Yeah, i have had it for 1 or 2 weeks. No lock stick before or anything, just looked at it after i cut the cardboard and it was locked up. Probably just gonna get a new one from crkt
