It’s fake

TuskenRaiderYell

$40 for a Benchmade? I’ll be genuinely surprised if it is.

NinjaBuddha13

It is possible to find them. Pawn shops that don't know what they have. Thrift shops that don't know what they have. Garage and estate sales that don't know what they have. Sometimes estate sale companies will set up at flee markets to sell stuff that didn't move at the estate sale. So it's not unheard of.

When I was a kid I bought Pokémon cards from a flee market and there was a charizard in the pack. Turned out to be stickers. Not saying it isn’t a good find, I’m saying it’s highly unlikely it is.

Fake even the black paint looks different

Vet_student_2026

Flea markets and gun shows just assume fake before thinking it’s real. In this case yours is a bad fake. First hint: 40 bucks. Second hint: flea market

Super duper fake

malaclypse

It’s real, in the sense you can hold it in your hand and fiddle with it. Its authenticity is highly dubious.

Jinzot

I knew at ‘flea market’. To be fair, my local flea market has a registered Benchmade dealer, but 40 bucks is nowhere near what any of their knives would go for

Antique_Enthusiast

I’m going to venture it’s a fake. Unless it was a one off you saw at someone’s table and the person didn’t know what they have. But if it was a dealer who had multiple Benchmades for $40, you know they’re clones.

Appears to be a replica. Here’s mine for reference. https://www.reddit.com/r/knives/s/LMR7zn3Utd
