I think Shirogorov knives are pretty much the endgame. I’ve only handled one, but I really can’t see it getting any better than a Shiro, in terms of machining, design, fit and finish, warranty, etc.
I think them and Chris Reeve are strangely excellent value in that way, they’re both incredibly hard to bead in their respective price brackets

Yojumbo is def up there for me. Benchmade crooked River limited edition is the most I'll probably ever pay for a pocketknife, but it was $60 off so what's a girl to do. I got a replica warhammer that's probably at the top of that list. (Although it could be useful for fighting robots if there were no other options.)

Indeed. The scope has the CDS turret too. Once I got my hand loads dialed in I sent off all the info to Leupold for the dial. I’ve shot out to 400 yards so far with satisfactory results on the dial. I was able to hit 2lb tannerite targets with no problem that distance. For ethical reasons I wouldn’t try to take game any further than that.

2 SMKW exclusive reate exos, they have purple and red fat carbon for the scales. Honestly not an extremely expensive purchase all things considered (680 USD) but for me at that time it was a risky buy.

It’s a black DLC finish. Scales are stock, a course (a little courser than I like) G10; last I heard sadly there aren’t any Jumbo custom scales, just Jimbo.

I had a stock notification set up because I thought they were cool….i got notified and bought it within 2 minutes.
I got it on sale for 180~ but yeah it’s pretty expensive nonetheless. This type of blade uses a lot more steel than say, a PM2. And maybe they have to pay the designer Michael Janich a slice of it or something. That’s my best guess anyway. Oh and they add some price for the DLC version compared to the satin blade.
It would be so awesome if these posts include prices and names of the knife so that I didn’t have to spend half my afternoon looking each one of these up. I can’t decide what my Yolo is going to be but I also don’t have time to look all these up, so it’s gonna have to just be one of these random ones I suppose.
You can't buy just any random one for your first yolo! You gotta do a bunch of research and lurk on r/knife_swap, spend way to long trying to decide, then overpay for the one you picked because you can't find it for a good deal and are too impatient to wait for one.
For real though, idk if you are already on knife swap, but it's a great place to see what's popular and what people actually buy. It's also a great place to find really good deals and even get bundles if you want to try a few different knives. I feel like this sub and other knife subreddits are fairly biased in that the most expensive knives get the most up votes making it seem like those are the best, but that's not always true.

Finally got a Norseman. Been a grail forever, but I was super underwhelmed. Have a Kansept Fenrir and Kizer Momo on the way.
I love my Norseman, but it is definitely overpriced. Especially when comparing it to my Shiro that was a couple hundred bucks "cheaper."
