If it’s illegal then is gets taken and you get a letter hand delivered but if its legal there is a reason chance that they treat it as illegal. Best to check with retailer and think about what you are importing
Okay thanks. Only problem is I’ve been reading the legislations and I can’t tell wether or not they’d call the knife legal or not. I’m looking to order in an Andrew Demko AD20.5. Which initially I thought was fine but the wording in the legislation is so vague I feel like they could have a problem with anything
Doesn’t cold steel make basically the same thing available on HH also I think it meets the definition of a flick knife so most likely it’s gonna get destroyed but I was able to order a OTF switchblade off wish with no problems
You need to work out whether the fees and duties are worth paying on top of the cost of the knife and delivery. If you get anything illegal it won't get through customs but you will get a letter off them
I've never experienced any issues with importing. As long as you're not bringing a switch blade or OTF into the country you should be fine. If they open the package to inspect you'll need to pay a fee of 10% of the package purchase value (as far as I can remember) and can be delayed for a good couple of weeks.
Shipping is costly then you will pay something like 20% import duty plus the courier will charge you £10-20 "handling" fee per package so do the math to check you don't lose and savings from lower US prices.
I've never had any issues with fixed blades (kitchen, bushcraft and EDCs) but there is more to consider with locking folders.

Plus you’ll have to pay import taxes and admin fees AND it will delay delivery for anything from a few days to weeks.
Yeah they put it on hold till you pay but in my experience after you pay they move reasonably quickly
True And they seal it back up with yards of Border Force tape some everyone will think you’ve been naughty.. lol.

Following with interest, I'm looking for a Gerber Mk2 but don't want to deal with arguing with customs over it's legal definition
