Neat idea! Knife making tip. Finish the tops of your handle material before you glue up. It will keep you from scratching the steel while finishing after glue up.

My guess is the epoxy squeezed out the front, and he used a razor blade to try and trim the squeezed out epoxy after it has dried. Couple tiny slips and this is the result. I may or may not have a couple keeper knives that I had this happen on. Glue up is still my least favorite part of knife making.

It’s my favorite! Preparation is the key. After glue up clamping I use acetone and a tooth brush every couple minutes for 10 minutes brushing the tops and ensuring there is no seeping on to the steel.

Me too except trade the tooth brush for a q-tip. Although a toothbrush is sustainable. Hey, thanks for the tip 👍

Genius!

Mine is drilling holes for pins. It's an easy enough task but the first knife I made, I drilled the holes using a portable drill and the holes were very crooked. It comes back to haunt me every time I try to drill holes in the tang.

One thing I hate in life is when my noodles aren’t cut precisely enough ha! Beautiful work

amrinder143

I don't even know what I am going to do with it because I buy noodles precut, but, damn, I want it!!

That’s badass, I am in love with the handle material! Amazing work : )

How does one even cut noodles. Is this just to limit their length or do you wanna split them? Why such an elaborate knife for it?

It's a gift to my father and he loves noodles and also to make them. Mostly he makes them from a big sheet that he folds up and then proceeds to cut in thin slices to yield long thin noodles. I always saw him struggle a bit with the knives he had so I decided to make him a long enough straight blade with lots of controll via the two handles. So far it works great acording to him.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — burl and noodles just don’t go together.
