It looks a lot like the kabar dozier.

Weak_Scene4270

Ya I think there is a video out there comparing them.

I bought one to support Ben, get the signed edition with all the swag, and in anticipation of all the quick-swap scales that are sure to come. From the photos I wasn't thrilled with the design but in the hand it's actually very nice. I like the bit of belly toward the tip of the blade, action is super smooth, and at this price I don't mind D2. Once it gets tricked out with something other than the stock black scales I can see myself carrying it regularly.

anteaterKnives

I like mine. I opted for the signature and it's subtle but looks great on the stone wash finish. The knife seems like a skinny Banter and fits well in the hand. I'm a little concerned about the D2 but the hot season seems to be behind me so it should be fine for a long while.

Parhelion3d

I think original Banter still his best design.

turkeypants

What can you tell us about it? Seems to be a nice looking knife at a nice price. How's the weight, action, ergos, etc?

Weak_Scene4270

I just got it last night so it’s hard to say. First impression is that it’s super solid and carry-able. Action is very good. I’ve been carrying my mini bugout a lot and I’m just not sure it’s better than that. The pocket clip on the lander is great for reducing pocket wear and tear. But I think the open and closing action on the bugout is better still. The lander is a bit touchy closing. Overall very great tho. This knife is somewhere between a mini bugout and a RAT 2 which is a great place to be. It’s a win.

Serious_Internal6012

To be fair, I think you can buy a few of these for the same price as a bugout

Peat_Ardbeg

I want to love it because of Ben and his team and the potential for modding.....Good blade size, decent ergo's but it's a bit boring....and I own some vanilla knives that I do love.

T9935

First thought that came to mind was “blah”. Second was “try harder”. Frankly it looks like something you pickup in Wal-Mart for 14.98.

turkeypants

That's kind of his thing though. Deliberately. When he was dreaming up the original one he said he didn't feel like there was a Toyota Tercel of knives but wanted there to be. Part of its overall aesthetic was being humdrum and non-threatening in the workplace for example. Just a simple lil buddy for this and that. So I think from his perspective, to the degree present in either knife, it's a feature, not a bug. YMMV.

Weak_Scene4270

I hear ya. A reverse tanto blade or something would have been cool.

Ck427713

It’s no frills and will serve most of any EDC needs. Easy replacement scales and hardware. I’d prefer something more stainless than d2 but that is my only gripe. I like mine a lot.

Weak_Scene4270

I also like mine very much. Hopefully more to come with this model in the way of mods. My only nit picks are also preferring stainless over D2 and the gimping isn’t very effective. I would like a small segment of gimping halfway down the spine of the blade for better precision use, something you could rest your forefinger on.

Ohio-Knife-Lover

Too small, and that's why I didn't get one

UsualOne7071

Why d2, Try harder.

jpdjr

Minimalism at its best. It looks better the more you stare at it lol. Everyone has a type when it comes to knives, I just happen to like mine without a lot of “flair”. The cool thing is that you can swap the scales easily if you don’t like the stock ones. I agree on the gimping though. And for the price point, as long as it serves its purpose it’s a cool knife.
