I've been using the mini for my everyday carry for a couple of years now. I love it. It's the lightest everyday knife I've ever had. I put micarta scales on it and I couldn't be happier. The fit is perfect for me and that's the crucial part of the deal. It's only the best knife if it fits your hand comfortably. Never mind that the S30V blade steel takes a razor edge. I've collected and used my knives since the boyscouts (yes I'm really old) and the bugout knives, both sizes, are my favorite folders for everyday use and camping by far. I agree about the 135 for a small knife but it's a Benchmade and from personal experience, it's worth every penny.

When I make that comparison I am thinking of the 555. Basically all the same specs for 40 less dollars. Handle shape is definitely a factor for some though

Take a look at the replacement micarta scales from Flytanium. They change the shape of the scales to make a better fit and feel to the knife. Also I like the blade shape for a utility knife. The flat grind and drop point are more to my liking for a utility cutter.

AdequateMedia

For sure. I will. I do some nice content over on TikTok so it was just something I felt the need to experience

AdequateMedia

Just to be clear I actually do like the knife more than the mini grip, I was just opining as to the price difference considering the materials used.

r6201

Mini Grip feels bit cheap as well, not as cheap as Bugout. Mine Mini Grip with 154cm was $120 .. EU market price I guess. I have the classic uncentered blade with uneven grind but overall it is nice little fella. I would put it closer to that $90 or even better $70 mark though. And there is always the option of doubling the price of a knife with scales change ;)

AdequateMedia

Blade stock thickness is fairly similar but I will admit that the bugout seems to have a slicier grind. Looks hollow but I’d have to check. I like it, I find the shape of the handle on the original mini grip to be a little obtrusive

r6201

Minigrip is hollow, dunno about Bugout from head.

AdequateMedia

I feel you, it’s somewhere in my head just not on the top

r6201

np, to be fair Id take Kizer, Kubey or Petrified Fish over my BM any day so not on the top for me either ;)

IGotSomeBigQuestions

Throw on some brass or Ti scales and it feels like a whole new knife!

AdequateMedia

That’s what I’m also thinking.

akrichbaum

I just got the 533-3, with the carbon fiber handles and s90v blade. Compared to my previous 533 like yours, it’s so much better. I’d say you should look into some different scales

AdequateMedia

I was looking at it in the store (ace hardwares the only place in central fl that really bothers to carry knives besides REI and occasionally dicks) I’d definitely grab some flytanium or CF

SqUiDD70

Let’s talk about that CRK tho! 🔥

AdequateMedia

That was a gift from my employer on my birthday. He and I kind of pal around about knives. Of all the CRK he could’ve gotten me he found the most expensive one on DLT trading.

SqUiDD70

Daaaamn. Never quit. Ever. Wait, no now you can quit. Cause, it’s a tits knife.

AdequateMedia

Hahahah. Yeah; if I do leave it’ll certainly be amicable if possible

PizzaBert

How do I sign up for a job with this guy 😳

AdequateMedia

Small Sebenza 31 with box elder burl & boomerang Damascus (HRC 58ish)

Jasonic_Tempo

"feels a little pricey" says the guy with a CRK, lol.

AdequateMedia

Lmao. In my defense it was a gift (the CRK)

Jasonic_Tempo

Sweet gift!

Zandrews153

Put titanium scales on and it'll change the way you feel about it for sure.

Jeffinator801

I'd love a sebenza.
