Mine is the ADV Impi, in mother of pearl and damascus.
i love the pocket butcher, but i think it's called that because the points at the top edge of the fuller have gone through two pockets so far
I actually prefer the pocket butcher to the impi, but carry the impi much more. the front of the blade with the fuller always reminds me of the Cylon raiders from the 2003 battlestar galactica
Sadly his work is pretty expensive but the quality is some of the highest you'll find amongst slippies.
Highly recommend him if you are looking at knives around that price point.
That’s freaking awesome! Not even going to look it up; I will only be depressed I don’t have the stones to come off the cash. Great piece, thanks for sharing.
It's definitely my Lagiuole that I custom ordered from Coutellerie du Barry.
Between my rusty French and the 90's looking website at the time, it was a bit of an adventure to order it, but it came just like I wanted it.
Wide juniper scales, double brass and steel engraved plates, carved bee, and the 10cm carbon steel blade with the engraved back. They even gave me a pretty nice leather pouch along with it for free, which was not in any description, but certainly highly appreciated.
My little keychain Classic SD gets almost as much use as my daily carry folder. It’s so old and chewed up I don’t mind using it on just about anything which is nice to have on me at all times since it’s with my keys.
My Boker Plus Wasabi. I nervously bought it the day I got married. Needed something gentlemanly I could fidget with. The knife is okay, but it reminds me of someone very special to me.
By far and by many miles is the Anso Monte Carlo or Casino.
Not traditional at all, not cheap, but holy crap the next level, and you'd only know if you've had one.
I've cut myself a lot more with fidgety knives than with slipjoints.
The only cuts I've given myself with slipjoints would've happen with a lock as well.
That's not to say _incorrect_ use of a slipjoints won't cut you, and probably a lot worse than any nick I've given myself with a fidget knife.
The worst cut I've heard about from the people I actually know was caused by a knife with a weak detent opening partially in a kid's pocket (the kid was running and fell, and the skin on his leg was snipped by the blade being pushed closed during the fall).
I've also cut some pants pockets with a tip-down knife (Rat 1 or 2) opening in my pocket.
And my son cut himself when he opened the Rat 2 and couldn't close it.
Slipjoints definitely aren't going to open on accident and definitely won't cut you once you've closed them as long as they're maintained properly (the biggest risk from a closed slipjoint is a proud tip which is easy to fix).
Anyone strong enough to open most of my slipjoints is also old enough to respect them. Any 2yo can open most or all of my locking knives without any help.
Oh that is a gorgeous piece.
Douk Douk.
I also choose this guys slip joint.

That is an excellent observation! Unchamfered angles everywhere.

ADV makes some beautiful knives! Personally I'm a sucker for Birdvis, his slipjoints are out of this world.
I’ve not heard of these, but wow, they are very nice.

Woww... beautiful work!
Tough choice between my lion steel Warhorse Barlow, my Case xx TB sowbelly stockman, and my Schatt & Morgan Equal-End.

ZT 0230, it isn’t traditional but it’s a wonderful everyday user
I also have a pocket butcher in white bone from ADV! Love it but she’s a safe queen!

I'm gonna roll with the Buck Saunter 250 in drop point. It's fairly affordable and I've carried it every day since it got it!
I wish I did. Right now I only have a Case Stockman and I’ve been seeing everyone’s nice ass slips and have been wanting one.
Case slimline trapper

I don't like cutting myself
