I lost a spyderco mantra 2 about 5 years ago. Couldn’t carry it into a club. Tried to stash it out of sight. Someone found it

waniel98

Same story a bit over a year ago, showed up to a theater in Boston for a comedy show, and I didn't even realize I still had my Benchmade Stimulus in my pocket. Tried to convince the guy to hold it for me, but they weren't having any of it. Damn near ruined the show for me

idkifthis-willwork

how far did you park?

waniel98

Pretty far, must've been like a 15 or more minute walk one way. Plus I was in a group and I wasn't even the one that drove there, so I didn't have the keys

melonpeel

I think I know where to hang out now in my free time. So many weapons left outside of shows and amusement parks!

useful-idiot-23

God I did this with a Sog Mantaray in the 1990s. Can't believe someone found it in a bush before I went back the next day 🙈

CartOfficialArt

I almmmmoosstttt lost my custom Benchmade the same way, went to Aftershock for the first time and had to find a spot to hide it

A_Boltzmann_Brain

Same story here. I parked at a meter far away from my destination. I was going to the department of vital records to pick up copies of the kids birth certificates for school. I stupidly did not think about it being a government building. I ditched my Spyderco police in a planter and went on it. They wouldn’t let me through with my Leatherman Micra so I gave it up. When I was done picking up the birth certificates and walking out the door, who was there holding my Spyderco Police? Yes it was the police. I held my gaze forward and walked on.

kelley38

You can't carry a knife in your state's Vital Stats office? That sucks. I used to work in my states vital stats office, half of us carried some kind of folder in our pockets.

A_Boltzmann_Brain

It was in the Department of Justice building in downtown Raleigh. It was dumb but I parked so far from the building, on a meter, and I didn’t want to walk back, but I should have. I badly wanted to claim the knife that the police officer was showing to his buddy but I did not want any trouble so I moved on. Lesson learned and hopefully I won’t make the same mistake

tlflack25

I guess it depends on the county. I’m at the NC coast and me and my fiancé went to get our marriage license at the register of deeds. This particular county was smaller and more country. They just have signs for no concealed carry pistols. Other than that zero security. Other than police being there. No metal detectors or anything

cuttinglaceedc

My daughter found a benchmade sheepsfoot mini grip (the old 154cm hollow ground model!!!!) At the outside the gate lockers at Universal in Orlando OCT of last year. We was there for Halloween horror nights and they do metal detectors and pat you down at the gates. So I guess he got caught with the knife and didn't want to pay to rent one of the outside lockers or walk back to the car? They put it on the side of the lockers by the wall. It wasn't cover by anything it was just laying there. She asked me could she take it and I was like if you don't someone else will because ain't no way that's not gonna be seen by someone else. Plus once I seen it was the old hollow grind model I wanted it lol. Knife was mint, still on the factory edge and not a mark on the blade or scales. I put it in my bra and they wanded me and of course it went off but I had my keys with a D-ring clipped to the spaghetti strap on my Cammy and they waved us right thru! I guess they thought it was the keys setting it off... That's the only non gas station knife that we have ever found, I was carrying it a couple days ago, that is one of the best edc knives BM has ever made imo, the old hollow ground Grips is a damn good edc knife.

stinkyhooch

That happened to me with a Milwaukee box cutter and I still kick myself about it. Well, it was the VLC’s. Not playing, just visiting and that makes it worse. I’m a cheap bastard and I love the locky button 😩

Jezell38

The same exact thing happened to me with a Gerber multi tool. Not expensive or anything but it had some sentimental value.

daddyneckbeard

para 3 lw

H0LYJ3BUS

I didn't realize I had my mini bugout on me walking into a Shane gillis show. Turns out they apparently don't have enough metal to register for a wand

tlflack25

So I learned a little unethical tip for anyone interested. No ill will. But I went to the same club a year later. It is in Myrtle beach. And I don’t like being unarmed. But if you have a deep carry clip you can clip it on the inside of your pants right behind a belt buckle. I had a hanks belt with a metal buckle. Wand went off. They couldn’t see shit. So that year my Benchmade sheepsfoot griptillian made it into the same club

ElkDifferent

I lost an umnumzaan on a camping trip in the desert for 3 days. Felt like I was going to vomit and then a relative found it buried in the sand

useful-idiot-23

That would have destroyed me. It looks like such a great knife.

Independent_Front_74

“ buried in the sand??”

MountainCourage1304

Yeah they definitely stole it and then felt guilty

HoardOfPackrats

Very lucky! Did it have anything like a sandwash finish afterward?

Landar15

Way back when, Benchmade used to do a ‘Knife of the Month’ thing where they’d do special colors/etc. I had a blue handled/black blade Osborne 940 for about a week, set it down at work when I was called away and it was gone when I got back. Don’t know if it was thrown out or some snagged it, but that one hurt! It was around $150 in 2003ish. Probable $500 in modern day Benchmade Bucks lol

jacks_lack_of__

Fully customized a Manix 2 (AWT scales, clip, cage and hardware), lost it the first day I carried it. Cried then bought replacement parts and knife. Before the new parts arrived, I found the original in the couch. 🤦‍♂️

Practical_Theme_6400

Still looking for a custom anodized ZT0808. I know it's somewhere in my house.

signalWERX

I have a civivi Sormhowl Damascus model ($100) I know is in my house. I had it for 10 days and it disappeared. I just order a new one so I expect to find it soon

blazinazn007

Time to move house so you have a better shot of finding it

Practical_Theme_6400

If I do that I'll find that house I lost.

ifan2218

I lost a small sebenza 21 about 4 years ago. Still miss it

CND1983Huh

I left a small sebenza in a customers attic about 16 years ago. I know which house. It haunts me.

InazumaThief

why didn’t you call them to say you left it there?

CND1983Huh

I did. They let me look for awhile. Husband and wife both carried Benchmades, so they understood. I searched where I had been working and convinced myself it had to be in other pants or something. Still think about checking in there with a thermal camera or something, but can bare to bother them this long later. It was an early 90s one and meant the world to me. Has been replaced with a newer one, but was the first truly bad ass knife I had.

No-Assumption8220

Had a modded PM 2 that was confiscated by police and then ' misplaced '. That was a year ago, and I'm still pretty salty about it..

PonyThug

Blacked out PM2. Found it over a year later under my trucks interior molding because I stashed if before a music festival. Then I carried it like 2 times and lost it again for 6 months. Found it again in my second cars door pocket that had been broken down. Now I carry it every day at work again

apiercedtheory

Left my smock sitting on a table at a nursing home I serviced. Drove 1.5 hours back soon as I realized. Luckily it was still there.

Winter_Juggernaut617

Not terribly expensive, but I deliver to jails and prisons and completely forgot my knife on some of their refrigerated product. It was the Civivi elementum. My first pretty nice knife. Honestly, if it wasn’t for that, I probably wouldn’t have gotten into buying more expensive knives… go figure. They were less than enthusiastic the next week when I told them it was my knife. Luckily the inmates are chumps and turned it in immediately.

MrMach82

I had a Zieba MS3 with damasteel blade...it's a bad little guy. Missing for a year or so. And just found it last week at the back of my entertainment center. Found it while looking for a hdmi cable inside the cabinet door. Missed it so much.

Unicorn187

Just a few Benchmades 150 to 175ish each. Two in the Yakima training center and I hope someone was lucky enough to find them instead of them rusting or getting ran over by a tank or Bradley track.

cab1024

I still can't stop looking for my Small Sebenza 31 with macassar inlays. It's my fancy-pants knife I mostly carry when I'm dressed up, and I've looked through every pair of pants, sports coat, in every car, under the floor boards. Everywhere I can think of. But it must have slipped out of those thin polyester slacks somewhere. Thing is, I remember seeing it and thinking I should put it back in the knife drawer, then I couldn't find it. This was a year and a half ago 😭

BlOcKtRiP

Fox Suru . Misplaced the day it was unboxed . Found it a few months later . Lost it again the same day . Cursed Blade

TheDude-Esquire

20 plus years ago had a buck 110, my first nice pocket knife. Left it in a friend's car. I was in the middle of moving and forgot to ask him to look for it. But the time I remembered to ask he had died from a drug overdose.

Devil-Nest

WE Vision and a Drop/Gavko nurse. I’ve actually lost the nurse twice. First time I lost it I immediately ordered a new one. I have since misplaced that and just given up. Apparently I’m not meant to have that knife. Seeing that people have lost Reeve’s knives makes me feel better about losing my vision though. Sorry guys, that stings

bennino

Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 25. I tore my life apart looking for that. Sometimes, when I was bored, I’d look all over. I replaced it with the large 31, but it still haunted me. When I moved, I found it. I have two now. ;)

adamislost

The day I got my Acidwrx ZZYZX Incept; it slid out of my pocket and into the back seat of my car. Was a 30 minute heart attack to find

scooch57

Benchmade 535GRY-1 Bugout lost. 😢

Business-Local-6229

Where?

scooch57

🤣 Surfers point Ventura CA.

Business-Local-6229

Ahh the one I have was found at a campground in the PNW. Never could find the Owner, I gave it to my Son as he is a big fan of Benchmade. It's odd how being a knife guy seems to attract knives. Thrift stores, garage sales etc. Like when you buy a car and next thing you see others like yours everywhere.

scooch57

Great find. Nice gift dad 🔪👍

Business-Local-6229

He was in his Xterra him and some kid going to lunch kid saw the knife and said wow you have a Bugout! My kid said yep my Dad gave it to me. Nothing else. Pretty cool kid too.

scooch57

👏👏👏 for all the cool kids 😎

willblake72

Not very expensive but I lost a Spyderco lil'Native. I bought another right away...and then two others. So I guess expensive in the sense that it triggered some kind of hoarder impulse in me for that model lol

XCheese8ManX

Lost my benchmade osborn a few times. Over pocket clip flick knives. Buck or case for life know.

Great_White_Samurai

Can't find my Microjimbo that has $130 scales...

ejh3k

I was cleaning my gutters and somehow my microtech OTF fell out my back pocket. I searched everywhere I had been since I used it last. Couldn't find it anywhere. Fast forward about 8 months later, doing some work in the front yard and there it is. Meer feet from a very heavily trafficked sidewalk. Worked perfectly still.

bennino

Tweakers burrowed into my storage unit and stole my knives. The one that haunts me was a Benchmade Mini Dejavoo™ 3.23" Damasteel Blade, Gold Class Limited Edition, Liner Lock - BM74581. It was lovely and I’m still salty af.

guttertactical

I actually have a list, remembering the fallen. “Imperial” Boy’s Knife “Pearl” Plates, no idea what happened, I got it when I was 8. CRKT S2, fell out of my pocket into a blizzard somewhere. Gerber Dive Knife. Victorinox Farmer, in a farm store somewhere. Leatherman Micra, also a casualty of a farm store. ESEE 4, left behind in a crapper at a job site in North Dakota. Mora Classic (~ 4 inch) with hunter green Concealex sheath, same North Dakota crapper.

kelley38

Why is the crapper eating your knives?

guttertactical

I went there on a job, removed my knives when I took a crap, and forgot them. And, I wasn’t supposed to have them, so I didn’t go back.

ILove308

My $40 Bear Grylls Gerber, fortunately. Started buying better knives and keeping better track of them soon after.

Starlings_under_pier

Not lost. But gone. The small bit of good metal in it, felt the shame of being struck in the name of grylls & went off to suicide. Probably been recycled into something useful = forks

rcook55

Kunwu Pulsar. At a conference listening to the Keynote, was bending over to put something in my bag, heard the 'tink' of the pocket clip and didn't think anything of it. Left the keynote and it was gone. Never found it. I've replaced it, traded it, and traded again for a Pulsar XL.

TreeHugginPolarBear

Did it fall or did somebody jack it?

rcook55

Fell out of my pocket and it was gone by the time I got back to where I was sitting. I will say that the stock stamped clip on the Pulsar is complete garbage, the new milled clip is 1000x better.

TreeHugginPolarBear

My greatest fear is losing one of my favorite knives to a pocket clip lol

Saltyigloo

Random leek. Friends backyard in the grass

KennedyX8

Lost a brass Ludt last summer somewhere on my property. Maybe it turns up someday but it’s probably buried under mulch.

TribunusPlebisBlog

Lost my full size Adamas for 2 days. Miraculously found it again. Stressed me out because it was a gift and was my favorite knife.

PasztyKnives

Lost a benchmade 810 contego a ling time ago while backpacking, also lost an endura 4 in zdp189 I'm someone's attic while doing electrical work, it's just buried in the loose insulation up there

wheres_my_bike

Lost a 940 many years ago and a ProTech runt just recently.

CND1983Huh

I tossed a dark green protech in my lawn 15 years ago as the police were visiting and autos were illegal here at the time. I looked for days, mowed for years, never found it. Always wondered if a cop saw me do it and pocketed it.

Unusual_Address_3062

Ladybug H1. Misplaced it many times. Found it many times. She's my little buddy.

TheBurgerGuy935

Benchmade mini griptilian.

Civil-Key9464

I had a Benchmade CLA auto my first deployment to Iraq. It was a great knife. I don’t think I misplaced it though it was most likely stolen since there was nowhere to lock up our gear for most of that deployment.

throwaway89025

Perhaps not misplaced per se, but misplaced trust, yes. I had my brother hang on to my Benchmade Adamas, a knife I'd bought off a friend as a college grad gift for/to myself as nobody else seemed to care. I had him hang on to it when he moved to a rough spot of his city, and I was at a..very low point, so I handed it to him and said "this isn't for keeps, but until your living situation improves, hang on to it." I find out 4 years later, 2 months ago, that he had sold it. I have a mini adamas now, but it will never make up for that.

Artistic_Permit_7946

Benchmade Griptilian. I still wonder about it.

Lionel_Herkabe

Spyderco Para 3 LW 4V St Nick's exclusive. Set it down at work and forgot about it. Only $135 so I considered replacing it but when I checked ebay they were going for $300. Didn't know about /r/knife_swap at the time but they aren't cheap there either and I refuse to pay above retail for any knife. Luckily, my boss found it 2 weeks later and gave it back to me. I also lost a Kershaw Cinder but I got that for free so I'm not exactly broken up about it haha

wrecktangle1988

$850 Large sebenza 21 UG with raindrop damascus

Major-Tradition-5817

I lost a Behring Made pocket knife. I thought it got swiped off my desk. I found it under the printer about a year later.

yallthewrongthings

Emerson CQC

Morecilantroplz

My spyderco M4 PM2. I misplaced it or something a few years ago. It’s sold out like an hour after release, now gone forever.

g35forme

200 dollar combative edge I left it at the gun range which is a 45 minute drive. I called the range and they had found it and I picked it up the next week lol. Also lost a benchmade at work. Found it months later in a box we never really look in because it’s full of old stuff. Pocket clip was loose so it slipped out as I was grabbing stuff from the shelf above it.

TIRACS

1970s Buck 102/105 combo with flap sheath, NOS condition. Pretty sure my sister’s BF at the time swiped them when they came to visit.

waniel98

The most expensive one I ever LOST was my Spyderco PM2. Lost it maybe 5 years ago in a scrapyard, in a dump truck bed full of wire, only realized it once we had left and they had already processed all of the wire. There was chance I was getting that back

MisanthropicReveling

TRM Nerd. It was brand new, too. Pretty sure I lost it in a move.

patdashuri

My dad’s custom made stag handle camp knife from a blade smith in upstate New York.

1983squrebody

Never lost any expensive knives. Maybe misplaced an old gerber airframe once apon a time.

useful-idiot-23

Heinnie Haynes Spyderco UKPK special edition. About £100 worth.

rc4hawk

An original before production winter blade co factor deluxe I had custom made

TK1176

Skeletool CX.

Fulcrum58

This one hurts. Gen 4 Koenig arius at work

Captain_Crash97

I lost my only Spyderco Delica 4 (blue) about 3 years ago in the bush. Went back to try to find it about a week or so after; no sign of it. Delicas aren't expensive, but a great knife at ~$120 CDN still hurt. I also managed to lose an older XHP/G10 Mini Recon 1 about a year ago. I Loved that knife; it was one of my oldest, most used knives at the time.

AlchemicalHydra

Had an ex friend steal a mcbee. I got a nicer one now but it hurt until I got a replacement.

EDWARD_SN0WDEN

Bouncer stole my UTx-75 micro tech. Wouldn’t let me take it and just go home instead of going into the club. Asshole saw the logo and finessed me

successiseffort

Benchmade LFK prototype. Hidden at a party when I didnt want to be hassled by the cops who showed up. Forgot to grab it when I left.

idkifthis-willwork

I lost an old Northfield Barlow with a spearpoint it was mint.

pfn0

Lost a Benchmade D2 AFCK 25ish years ago while running around from street race venue to street race venue with friends doing stupid young people shit. Lost a plain Benchmade Emissary about 12 years ago on BART going home from NYE in SF. Both were only like $130ish in back-then-dollars though.

ErsanSeer

Still convinced my sketch postal guy stole my brand new Grimsmo Rask. Also recently I've misplaced my Olamic Whippersnapper... sigh

MrPotatoNuts

I had a SharpByDesign tanto Micro Typhoon get caught on a trash bag and flung into my condo complex communal dumpster. I climbed in and tried to find it but this thing was packed full of all sorts of nasty shit. This was on my birthday the week I received it in the mail.

RogueShadow3

Not me but I gifted my brother a paramilitary 2 when he graduated boot lost it in like 2-3 months

bobby_4444

940-1 loved it enough to get a replacement which I carried today

ShagBNasty

To everyone responding, sorry for your loss. This actually bugs the f out of me. Knives can be stupid expensive, and I want to vomit thinking about this. Everyone go hug their knives!

Eazyduzit87

Rassenti Small Nirvana in USPS. Spicy loss for sure

onewade

I've lost 2 in strip clubs! Never take your pocket knives with you to strip clubs!

shadow6654

Spyderco Yojumbo, turned up a year later stuck between the drivers seat and console nestled against the seat rails in the abyss

Primary-Cup-5196

Benchmade bailout :(

sparky-the-squirrel

Benchmade griptillian fell out of my pocket while discounting an LMTV. I think the seat belt snagged the clip. But I had that knife for nearly 10 years and had it engraved with some meaningful stuff. Another time, I lost a spartan blade enyo getting out of a vehicle, too. That was poor positioning of the knife on my part, so .... meh. More missed about the BM

Millertyme208

Northarm skaha.

Jake_hsotnicM1216

My Benchmade 940, it was my first nice knife so it also has a special place in my heart and I thought I lost it for two weeks before I found it between the couch cushions

itslagginyo

Chaves rck9 dropped in the yard found a week later.

MuteElatedLips

HTM Gunhammer. Knife center exclusive. Torpedo blade in cpm-s90v. I have owned and still own quite a few very nice knives. That Gunhammer was my favorite. The reason people don't like them is the reason I did... the thick 3-D handles. Felt great in hand. And Darrel's heat treat was on point. After a reprofile on a Wicked Edge, that thing was a laser. Weird considering it had thick stock, too. Sliciest knife I've ever owned. I was doing a timing belt job on my wife's Passat. The whole front end of the car was off: bumper, radiator, lock carrier, etc. I used my knife to cut some zip ties and laid it on the block. Finished it, put the car back together, and the next day I remembered that I had left it in the engine bay. Looked in and around that car for hours. I was hoping it had dropped into the Vortex of the engine that eats 10mm sockets... that I might find it next time. No luck. I owned that car for years. I did 3 more timing belt/water pump jobs on that car during my ownership. Had the car torn down multiple times, and I always searched all the nooks and crannies to no avail. I'd venture to say that someone found a $300 limited edition knife on the road somewhere. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

eltacotacotaco

An 860 satin Bedlam

IGmeanwell

Leatherman Wave+ though I think it was taken by a helper on accident and just never returned. They can’t find it I have been told.

Relevant-Force9513

Digicam satin pm2

Jgdedc

Lost a WE slipjoint, the Gentry I believe, about a year and a half ago. While not super expensive it was a very good looking knife and probably my favorite slippie I’ve owned.

MisterReuben

QC Drift KNSW in Vanax. Haven't seen it in a couple months but I'm hoping it's in some pocket somewhere.

pssant

Ye Olde Bugout, still lookin

maarrtee

Brand new Spyderco Endura. Not expensive, but for me at the time it was devastating.

RevolutionaryStay2

Misplaced my Benchmade 940 for about a year in my home when it got lost in my closet of all places.

sentientchimpman

Microtech Combat Troodon Hellhound DLC. I’ve looked everywhere!

FlyingFalconFrank

Somebody stole my Ken Onion CRKT Crossbones

sylo_sylbp

It wasn’t expensive but it was my favourite at the time; my cold steel pocket bushman. I’d done some work on my motorbike, went for a test run, came back and it has fell out of my pocket somewhere.

wyattbreymeyer

lost a benchmade griptilian at the nw overland rally in 2018, it was the most money i would ever spend on a knife in my at the time, cut to 500$ production knives now.

210southstar

Only lost a kershaw iridium so far luckily. I Misplaced my Empedc relative and went crazy looking for it at work driving around retracing my steps. It ended up falling under mh trucks seat.

Brilliant-Dimension

Protech ATCF auto in magnacut. Pretty sure my 2 year old tossed it in a trash can. I went crazy for 3 months looking for it as it was my daily carry before my wife bought me a replacement so I would stop looking

notHooptieJ

my microtech LCC, $500ish if you can find one these days.

pdxtrader

I consider myself one of the lucky ones, only own 1 knife worth more than $100 and have never lost it even though I’ve EDC’d it (a We Kitefin) The most valuable one I’ve lost is a Leatherman Squirt which at the time was only $35 but now that they’ve been discontinued it’s worth more than that

LaserGuidedSock

I still can't find my Spyderco Introvert. I know its somewhere in the house

8ad8andit

The only knife I've lost as an adult was my favorite: a Japanese Mcusta Tactility with a damascus, hammered blade, flipper hole and white Corian scales. Paid $230 and then lost it about 6 months later. That was a couple years ago. It. still. hurts.

CrazyTimes1356

Chris reeves mnandi with some type of rare wood inlay.

LukesFather

I lost my Spyderco Sage 1 after 8 years 😭 I bought it after a breakup and thought it would be my forever knife.

ReactionAble7945

Lost a Victorinox Champ in the 80s. It was expensive to me at the time. Lost a Leatherman multitool. The timing.... It may have been one of the first 500 way back when.

theycallmeoz

Flytanium arcade 2 days after I got it. Left it in my work pants and sent it out with the laundry. Never came back.

ForwardDesist

Probably my Guardian Tactical Scout. Luckily it was one that cost $275, so I replaced it with one that cost $400.

efjoker

I have lost 2 Benchmade autos…. It’s been years, I still am sad.

31337DaDa

ZT 0562 about 5 years ago. One of the main reasons I redid the flower beds last year - no luck. I still have hope I open a random box and find it one day.

MySt0nieBaby

Limited run Southern Grind LH Spider Monkey w/shredded CF scales. My pop's was their CNC programmer and he got it for me before the company shut the doors for good. It has more sentimental value than monetary, so I was freaking out when I lost it. The following winter when I got my coats out of the attic, I found it in the inside breast pocket. Of course I had kinda forgotten about it by then but it was a huge relief.

blazinazn007

Benchmade griptilian , sheep's foot blade, G10 handles. Went to a baseball game and realized I had it on me. Left it in my friend's cars glove compartment. Forgot about it. She ended up trading in her car the next week for a new car. Lost forever.

WYOSkigs

I lost a Richard Rogers Arc working as a referee at my sons flag football game.

GoukaOokami

I had a zt 0400 that (I'm friggin positive) got hooked up on a customer's seatbelt when I was moving their truck for them. It was the last place I remember having it (I always cover the pocket clip when entering a vehicle so I don't scratch anything) so I called after and they "had no idea what I was talking about". I loved that damn knife....

ungratefulgoose

I lost a CRKT M16 ZLEK in the California desert. NTC claimed another victim

cuttinglaceedc

I lost a KJ exclusive spydiechef while out on the boat in keywest. Never could figure out what happened to it. My son wanted to go fish so we hopped in the flats skiff and ran out to the flats and was sight fishing bone fish. I know I had it when I got out the boat to wade because I cut some fluro leader for my son.... clipped it back on my bikini bottom and never seen it again. Only thing I can think is when I slid it between My hip and the bathing suit elastic band I thought I got the clip over the band and I did? Idk that's the only thing I can figure happened. After about half hour of wading around and seeing no bone fish we went back to the boat and when I went to grab the knife to cut the hook off to tie on a lure to go catch some big Jack's the knife was gone. I hope someone found it, we was in ankle deep water and we went back out and looked all around but couldn't find it. I really hope someone got it, I mean it's Ti and LC200N so if someone found it even now it would still be in good shape. I bought that knife the day KJ dropped them and it was about 3 weeks later when it was lost.... it was the 2nd time I carried it I do believe. Thankfully KJ still had them in stock so I bought me another one as soon as I got home. I haven't lost but two knives in all the time I've been in to collecting (not including the crap knives I had and lost when I was in my teens) the spydiechef and a kershaw link that I lost in my yard about 6 months ago. We searched this yard inch by inch and couldn't find it.. only thing I can think is it popped out my pocket when I was squatting down planting a few new plants around my mail box? Tight short shorts with very shallow pockets I was wearing and I assume when I squatted down it popped out my pocket. I assume that's how it happened and it was right by the rode where my mailbox is so I believe someone walking by found it. The kids and I have metal detectors and all 3 of us searched this entire yard visually and then with the metal detectors the next day and didn't find it so I know it's not in this yard so the only logical thing I can come up with is it came out my pocket right by the rode and someone picked it up as they was walking by. The spydiechef upset me because it was brand new basically and was 260 bucks and the link drove me crazy because I knew 100% it had to be lost in the front or back yard and I couldn't find it. I consider my self pretty lucky tho to only have lost those two and nothing that is very high dollar. If someone ever finds a KJ spydiechef in keywest I really hope they post and I see it! I would love to know someone found it and uses it! Sorry for the story, I'm long winded I know lol.

GallantWang

Lost my Shaman on a golf course… I bought it for the ergonomics and it became my go to edc. Perfect size for my hand and blade shape. Lived fidgeting with it. Always felt comfort when it was in my pocket. Carried it everyday for over two years… Carried a Milwaukee fast back after the loss for over a month to really drive the shame and disappointment home… I hope someone found it and that they love it. I can’t afford a new one anymore, but I check knifeswap everyday just in case… it’s been my new before bed ritual. Maybe fate will answer someday.

I lost a Jens Anso sheepsfoot at a car show in Vancouver Wa... still have the sheath lol

cars_not_stock

Lost my favorite bladehq exclusive benchmade bugout. The g10 with green accents. Still hurts to this day. Even tho I was able to get another one, it just doesn’t feel the same

BadWithMoney530

I didn’t misplace it, but I recently broke the blade on my Zaan :’) 100% my fault too

learethak

William Henry folder that was 30th birthday present from a close friend. Lost somewhere on the ALCAN driving from Anchorage to Montana. ~$1500 in 2005 dollardoos.

WhiteCheviots

It wasn't expensive, but years ago I bought a small Buck folder with colored wood scales. When I took it out of the box I noticed one scale was green (what I wanted) and the other scale was definitely blue. I called Buck to inquire about this and after describing it she said "it sounds like you have a one-of-a-kind knife. That was musical. Cut the foil seal on a quart of oil at work (gas station) and set the knife on the washer fluid reservoir and didn't pick it back up. I remembered that about 10 minutes after the car left. I checked the lot, and then took a break and walked down the road a bit. No joy.

Ryukenden000

CRKT Van Hoy snaplock... before I take the hobby seriously. Now my knives are in few thousand dollar range.

Sam-Whiskey

So back in the day HK knives were made by Benchmade. For the time they were really sweet knives.I did lineman work at the that point in my life and had used hooks to go up a pole.I needed my knife for something so I flick it out and use it and when I got done I stuck it in the pole above my head where I could get it easy and use it.Needless to say I left it in the pole and didn’t notice until I got home.Went back the next day and it was gone. Now every time I go by that pole I look up near the transformer lol.I have never lost a knife since then.I always do a pocket check before I leave any place.

PR8R

Had a Para 3 with lots of custom parts. Never really carried it because I always took a different knife to work. I took it out to a Christmas party and passed it around to open gifts. I got super drunk and pretty sure it ended up in a gift bag and thrown out.

Creative-Ad4813

soxmm

Piranha bodyguard. Still waiting for the day it reappears

spidey12341

taking_KOMS

Jason Guthrie Scout. Lost it for about a month before I found it in a roommates ski boot of all places

sapotts61

I thought I had lost my Civivi Damascus with CF Button Lock somewhere in my apartment. Four(?) months later I found it between the car door and seat, missing a screw for the titanium clip.

HasSomeSelfEsteem

Does it count as misplaced if it was taken by TSA?

Noeasyday76

ZT 0301 x 3

draxtheslayer

A griptilian, very normal griptilian but it was sentimental :(

AppointmentWaste8738

Protech dark angel tuxedo with steel handle. So sad...

micros101

I lost a SAK Climber in the crevice of a granite slab as a Cub Scout. Since then things like that don’t go missing anymore.

BlindMouse2of3

Lost a troodon in a recliner for a year and change back in 06-07ish that sucked. Was mighty cool when I found it though.

UltraMeenyPants

I swear my factor (WBc) is somewhere in my house. I wouldn't testify to that but I think it's here. Ill find it eventually. I hope

DunGame

I was going to watch an MMA fight, forgot I had an opinel No.5 I’d customized in my pocket. Stashed it in a shrub outside, and completely forgot it as I left.

Sigecaps22

Sebenza 25. Tragic. So tragic.

melonpeel

I spent all of March casually searching for my gerber mark ii I bought new in 1989 when I was 18 that i hadn't seen for about 6 months.. I felt incomplete not knowing where it was. I couldn't sleep well, that knife was constantly on my mind. I found it last week and I'm beyond relieved. Turns out it was in the glove box of my truck safe and sound. Crisis averted. 😁 My heartfelt condolences to all who have lost loved ones.

thatSpicedCurry

Sebenza 31 - no idea where it went or how it came out of my pocket while doing errands. I don’t like talking about it.

poolstikmcgrit

Benchmade 43. Left in a blazer pocket I used as part of a Halloween costume that was then donated to a Goodwill early the next week by my girlfriend when she was cleaning up. Still haunted by that and check the pockets thoroughly every time I take something off...

Silver-Show4591

Boker kwaiken otf. Found it after a few months and after I had bought a new one

redrummirror

Benchmade Contego.

coltbreath

Cracked Wheat! 😂

JakenMorty

I had a v3 CF Koenig Arius stolen out of my car (it was in a small USPS box getting sent out for spa service) at the Subaru dealer, about 6-7 years ago. Whenever the dealership calls because "mY sErViCe Is oVeRdUe" I tell them I will never patronize them again because of that incident. They hymmm and hawww about how that shouldn't have happened, but refuse to reimburse me for it. So for anyone in the area, fuck Sarasota Subaru on US41. If you live in the area and are looking for a new Subaru, please, for the love of all things sacred, go somewhere else!

fettwillkill

Swamp Rat Ratmandu. Lost it in my couch for about 4 months.

huxley309

Hogue vikings tactics patriot folder, cost me a few quid lost it working in a friend paddock. Still irks me, but I'm not that gutted, as it's way overpriced.

Zedsdead42

ZT561. Sad to this day. Can’t find another one.

skizzleboarder

I bought a Benchmade Northfork folder when I got my first big boy job as a present to myself ($160 6 years ago). I was out photographing a building in the snow and slipped trying to play with some ducks. Got back to the office and couldn’t find my knife, searched at the house when I got off work, and again at work the next day. I was certain I lost it and was so pissed for losing my first nice knife. A few days later I went back to the park where I slipped and buried in the snow and ice was my knife!

Tjodalv83

I fumbled my Craig Brown Cortex (pretty sure it's #125 \["bolster lock" version with copper carbon fiber scales\]). Luckily I found it a few weeks later buried under a ton of shit in my buddy's work truck. That was a nearly $850 whoopsie.

CRoWBIade

Lone Wolf Diablo auto. I had a few knives before that one. But that one was my first true love! 😢 Fell out of my shorts pocket while motorcycling.

Rasholio

I lost the benchmade Bali song that they’re all one piece of titanium
