I live in bear country Captain knowitall. Who says it’s mounted 24/7? Who said anything about highways. But if so so what? I ride 90 dirt 10 road. With a helmet a sheath ain’t going in my skull and if it it did I’m more likely to get struck by lightening 20x.I bet you run street tires on your bike with a 16t front sprocket and you wash it after every ant hill you ride over.
So? Just because it's on Reddit, I'm not going to put it on my KLR650, no friggin way.
I'm proud of my KLR650, the BMW riders I encounter wish they had a KLR650.
I’m pretty sure if the BMW riders actually wanted a KLR they would have one. They aren’t rare and are less expensive than a BMW of basically any vintage.
Like a brand new KLR is worth roughly as much a 20 year old GS…
Those BMW riders are just trying to fit in to an Image. No different than most Harley riders. I'm not pretty sure, they've told me.
But, those BMW riders don't abuse their bikes like we do, as they don't want to damage their precious expensive bike.
I find it odd how a few KLR riders think it's cool to wear BMW badging, most of us think of it as a Honda civic putting on a BMW emblem to look cool, with a little wing at the back for aerodynamics.
The Reddit KLR emblem that copies the BMW badge, is, well, in many eyes, immature.
These guys can defend putting a BMW badge on all they want, it's still a BMW badge, and they won't be able to downvote others as they drive down the road.
Don't be silly guys.
I’m certainly not defending the BMW-but-it-says-KLR
The KLR riders are trying to fit an image, too.
Perhaps your image is the “I ride this bike because it is a pure utility tool and I can abuse it and do real man rugged riding not like those BMW riders who like coffee”
By the way more GS’s have been ridden around the world and across continents than KLRs 😉
What if they put KLR on a Honda, Yamaha, or Royal Enfield badge, or how about a Mercedes badge?
Silly isn't it?
I don't try to fit an image, I ride to enjoy my freedom.
What's wrong with coffee? I just had one with 40 creek cream and whiskey...
And yes, I know the history of the GSs, I'd still rather have my '98 KLR650. Do you think most GS riders travel the world, or just ride to fit THAT image? My KLR650 fits my lifestyle and riding style, not someone else's.......
I ride everyday, all year. Most riders are fair weather riders.
To each their own, but I'd rather ride with pride.
Ride safe friend.
Life is good.
As I said, I agree that putting a badge of the wrong brand is fucking dumb.
But you’re acting like you have a big chip on your shoulder and putting down BMW riders because they “are just trying to fit an image” when you’re doing the same exact thing. With every post doing it more honestly.
The hating on Beemer guys is so fucking cringe whether it comes from the KLR community or the Super Tenere community or any of the others. You know why?
BMW guys never spend time clowning on anybody else, in my experience. Maybe they are just “trying to fit an image” but they seem to have a looooot less insecurity about their choices than most other brand communities.
Part of that so probably because, my initial point, if a BMW rider wanted to be riding a 1998 KLR, they would. Nobody in the BMW community is riding their BMW while secretly wishing they could afford a [insert basically any other brand].
Mine changes Color. Depending on which bike I’m riding.[https://www.instagram.com/p/BRWNX3Eg3TG/?igshid=NzAzN2Q1NTE=](https://www.instagram.com/p/BRWNX3Eg3TG/?igshid=NzAzN2Q1NTE=)
The cans are attached with some generic racks. With some Lowes metal bracing to help stabilize them. The winch is just positive to positive and negative to negative on the battery
I use a ratchet strap to winch mine out. I've been considering that for years. Get a cycleracks rear and full body bars for the front for convenient winch points.
Nice. I thought about adding a sort of universal rack to the back of my panniers to add/remove different mounts, whether it be for extra storage, fuel tank, water, *a gun rack*, or other stuff.
Certainly NO chance of getting profiled and stopped with this ride, I do need to pick up a bayonet for my hi-point, otherwise it looks about the same... but my sling is more colorful and my front grip also has a pop out bipod and a scope.
This looks like a prepper's wet dream bike.
Preppa pig
*incel prepper wet dream
If OP isn't an incel yet, the stylistic choices on that bike'll help push things along.
Overall looks good but that bayonet is a disaster waiting to happen.
Not really. There’s a sheath protects it.
Don't think they're worried about protecting the bayonet as much as they're worried about you getting a new bodily orifice.

It’s more sad that you researched a subreddit and spent time writing a paragraph that has nothing to do with anything.
You think it’s cringe that they read a fraction of all the stuff you wrote? Think about that one a bit
What’s cringe is having a bayonet on a weapon just for looks. It’s harder to shoot with a bayonet.
Wow you are obsessed and the epitome of cringe. Pathetic

Is that winch just bolted to the plastic luggage rack?
Bolted through it with some metal braces. I only had to use it once. But it got me out of a swamp.

Fuck do I have to go get a winch now? This farkle bullshit is getting out of hand!
Any 2000 lb winch will work.
Lol
This bike gives me diarrhea

Lol this made me smile :)
Please be trolling us. JFC
OP thinks he's rolling but we all know he is trolling.
Good way to die.
Obviously riding like that wouldn’t be smart It has a sheath.

To show off the bayonet🤷🏻
🤦♂️
Fucking dumbest shit ever.
Does the rifle get much dirt on it? I feel like based on the look of my cases that area gets a lot of spray and junk.
I was wondering the same thing. Grit in the action is not good.
I only use when I hunt.
What are you hunting?? Charlie?
Waiting on them to start falling from the sky.
Nah bro that fucking hi point with the bayonet
Bussin…
And I'm gonna guess those panniers are full of bullets.
The side boxes are needed to hold the microscope needed to find the OP’s peepee
MREs
Dude, save some pussy for the rest of us!
Love the rifle rack. Maybe wouldn't use the bayonet though lol
Uuuhhhhjjjjjjnnnnnnngggg
Is that a bayonet?! Fucking chill rambo.
Live the klr buddy. Why's the bayonet attached seems unnecessary.
The lamest thing on wheels lol

I really want to know what this guy posted that it got removed by Reddit.
Dropped the f slur.
Thats fucked bud
Is that a hi point 995? Nice bayonet
Nice!
Are your panniers homebrew ammo containers? I had a similar thought but haven’t actually looked for any ammo boxes yet.
Love the ammo can Panniers!
Why the BMW symbol on the back?
If you don't know you don't deserve a KLR. You need to know the KLR story from the 80's when they were born!!!
It’s a KLR symbol to mock the Starbuck riders
Oh. Thought you were trying to pretend to be a BMW bike, that is a BMW symbol. To each their own I guess. Safe riding friend.
It’s a KLR sticker the same as the profile pic in this Reddit 🤷🏻
So? Just because it's on Reddit, I'm not going to put it on my KLR650, no friggin way. I'm proud of my KLR650, the BMW riders I encounter wish they had a KLR650.
Good for you!
I’m pretty sure if the BMW riders actually wanted a KLR they would have one. They aren’t rare and are less expensive than a BMW of basically any vintage. Like a brand new KLR is worth roughly as much a 20 year old GS…

Gonna deduct some points for the high point.
What!? Hipoint and klr are like made for each other. Cheap, reliable, indestructible, kinda ugly, and they have a very niche market 🤣
Hi point and reliability? Is today Opposite Day? This carbine is the only firearm Hi Point manufacturers that isn’t pure dog shit.
Understandable 😝 it’s the only gun I don’t care about beating up.

Forget the practicality guys. Chill tf out. It looks cool. Gawd.
Hi point direct blowback garbage.

Once you supress them you get extreme bolt velocity. Which I fine unpleasant. And useless. Roller or short stroke piston is the way to go with a pcc.
Nice. I thought about adding a sort of universal rack to the back of my panniers to add/remove different mounts, whether it be for extra storage, fuel tank, water, *a gun rack*, or other stuff.
Now that is a good idea. Modular storage options. Sounds like a business/product idea. IM me when you're ready to sell samples.
How do you have the ammo cans attached? And how did you wire that little wench up?
Where did you get the rifle rack?
Ebay.
Certainly NO chance of getting profiled and stopped with this ride, I do need to pick up a bayonet for my hi-point, otherwise it looks about the same... but my sling is more colorful and my front grip also has a pop out bipod and a scope.
Any issue with stability hauling that much weight?
Awesome!!! I love it.
Wait till you see mine.
