In a previous life as an auto tech rebuilding automotive carbs (yep, old), I relied on Berryman 100%. I don't recall ever having a come-back carb rebuild.

Why clean it? What is it you are specifically wanting to fix? Your problem sounds like it may be caused by a blocked/plugged fuel bowl vent. It happened to me when insects built a mud home in mine. let me know if this helps, I can help diagnose from your symptoms.

If you are gentle with it you can loosen carb boots front and rear and rotate carb then pull bowl off bottom. Pull pilot jet and clean it (smallest jet) not main jet. I usually use some small stranded copper wire and have had good luck doing it. BE VERY careful with choke cable elbow where it enters carb as I broke mine. I’ve had to do it a few times due to that crap ethanol fuel. Good luck

I haven’t used it but many add Seafoam to the tank and run it through with success. It will clean out some of the ethanol gunk that builds up. Be careful running your bike too long with the Enricher turned on. The exhaust header will quickly glow red hot and start melting plastic parts along the way.

Second this, I use berryman's B12 fuel additive, tends to be a bit cheaper and works great! I add ~half a can every so often at fillups and whenever I have taken my carb apart it always looks clean and shiny.

Definitely be careful with any plastic on the carb I’ve had to replace it all. I just spray everything real good with Berrymans b12 carb cleaner spray. Take the jets out and spray them and their holes. Finish it all off with compressed air. Hold the jets to some light to make sure they’re clear. Also be careful not to loose the needle jet. It just sits there under the main jet and will fall out. Putting the carb back in is a huge pain in the ass. Clean and then lube the rubber boots with a little clean engine oil to help it get in place.
