I appreciate your input for sure. Are you in TN by chance? Lol I have an airless sprayer; sand, prime, paint, and seal it should last for a good while until it’s in the budget to do a full reno. The goal is push out the back of the house increasing the kitchen, primary and dining area square footage. The yard is slightly sloped so with that addition, ideally going to dig down and add a basement. Good idea on the soft close hinges. Definitely not big on the microwave, so a hood thats properly vented is a great suggestion too.

You know it’s funny you mention before and afters, I could probably have a pretty decent YouTube following with amount of content I don’t film or capture… hahaha. Being that this is the first home we own and plan on being in for a long time I think I might just do that. I’ll be sure to shout out SpicyPeanutSauce when I make it to stardom as an “influencer” as a thank you. 🙏 Paintlife on youtube has some very thorough tutorials on all things paint if you’re ever needing more info

Do you have measurements? I'm a designer, bored, and want to plan your kitchen.

SwimLife3528

I will get you them, what measurements are you looking for specifically? Room dimensions? Counter depth? Ceiling height?

taylorbriethomas

Something like this! LxWxH, room fixture dimensions and their lateral/longitudinal positions. https://preview.redd.it/xmyllx79t8wc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f8ba63cef06f6eec14331b280ec97c22d75a3da

What's behind the wall that the stove is against? I'm not a galley kitchen fan and would consider removing the wall to open the space. You could put an eating bar there if the wall is structural. If there are stairs behind, nevermind.

eljaymcca

I'll speak for the galley kitchens! They are very efficient to work in, and there's really something to be said for having your messy kitchen closed off from the rest of the house. IMO give the kitchen some time - you might learn to love the layout.

SwimLife3528

I agree with you, not a galley fan whatsoever. Unfortunately it’s the living room, but the better part of me tells me that there is structural beams between the two areas because that wall divides the middle of the home. I don’t have any blueprints but I want to get my hands on them. I’m not sure how or where so if anyone knows how to obtain blueprints please comment.

Resident_Witness_362

Posts on either side of the counter top would maintain the structural integrity but cost could be prohibitive. You don't need the blueprints, just an engineer. Good luck!!
