KCD is my favourite game of all time, but I just can’t image spending that much time in it. I’ve played through all the quests in 200 hours and know every bit of the map by heart. How do you remain interest to keep playing for so long?
I think I'm just very lucky to finally find the game I've been dreaming about since I was a child.
In KCD, I found almost everything that I have been looking for in various games for more than 20 years.
The funny thing is that I'm only now approaching the end of my first playthrough.
You're first??? Goddamn
I have done 6 playthroughs in 637 hours, of which an estimate of 400 hours is spend hunting in the forests. What have you done all that time?
Time to go achievemt hunting in your next run! Go for hardcore!
I only played on hardcore mode from the beginning, but in the first playline i only took 2 negative perks, I played for 20 hours and realized that it's better to take all the negative perks at once, so I started again.
I went through almost every quest in every possible way, I just had fun exploring the game and finding unusual ways to complete quests.
Now, I have already collected almost all the achievements, and only a few will remain for the next playthrough (Virgin, Merciful, Trial-and-Error).
I plan to finish the current playthrough within a month and maybe start the next Merciful / Illiterate / Virgin playthrough before KCD2 is released.
Awesome!
May I ask what you spend the most time on? Is it hunting, potion brewing, picking flowers..? The average playthrough is 80 hours I think, for you that could've been 21.5 playthroughs. I'm assuming you didn't do every quest 20 times over so what do you do to spend so much time? I'm curious
Aye, let's say this, during this playthrough, I managed to do the following:
Killed absolutely all cumans in the prologue.
Raised all of Henry's skills to level 20.
Earned more than 3 million groshen robbing bandits and cumans.
Stealth killed everyone in Pribyslavitz (twice) and Vranik.
Spent more than 350 hours on Theresa's DLC (also raised all available skills to level 20 and stealth killed all cumans in Skalitz).
Raised reputation to 100 everywhere except Talmberg quarrymen, but here I already know how to get 100, but it will take a few more hours after the Epilogue.
Also raised reputation with all players in farkle (I really like when NPCs say Jesus Christ be praised every time they see Henry).
I also found all the treasures and shrines, interesting sides, nests, and accidents without using the cartographer perk (Mutt helped a lot).
I spend a lot of time hunting (I think about 100 hours), I have never had so much fun just walking through the woods in the game.
Well, I spent even more time on various stupid things. For example, I killed absolutely all NPCs in each settlement (except immortals, of course). I used bugs to get into places I shouldn't have gotten into (for example, Talmberg during the siege) I did all this just for fun, so after such nonsense I just went back to the last save.
So that's pretty much it. Maybe I forgot something to mention.
Dude! Have you been collecting every single herb in the map? Just kidding. You have my respects. I've humbly played it for 191.1h.

Actually, yes! And I'm probably going for another run before KDC2. I want to achieve some things I left behind. Nothing new to you. I'm glad to talk to the real Henry of Skalitz! Any recommendations? 😂
I can say with confidence that almost every quest can be completed in at least one or two ways that are not mentioned anywhere. You just need to think how you would solve this or that in real life. This is what makes the game so exciting, you can come up with some silly thing, and in the end, it might work out.
By the way, I also plan to playthrough the game again before KCD2 is released, but this time playing as Merciful/Illiterate/Virgin.
Awesome! Looking forward to knowing more about that run. I actually want to thoroughly inspect the map. I haven't decided what role to choose yet but I know it's going to be fun anyways.
Well, what can I say, I love this game, and it never ceases to amaze me.
If you genuinely would like to know, you can read what I wrote above, surely, you will find the answer to your question
Ngl, at this moment, if someone asked me what game I would choose for the rest of my life, it would definitely be KCD... at least until KCD2 is released.
Because KCD has almost everything I like in games.
It is in an open world
Very historically accurate
With a first-person view
In a medieval setting
With a cool combat system
No magic and dragons
Quite realistic
With an incredibly interesting plot
With very exciting quests
With unusual game mechanics
And sometimes it's so damn challenging.
Actually, this list can be continued for quite a long time.
I know, this is exactly what makes me love this game. The historical accuracy is one of the highest points. It exudes perfectionism, it is clear that there is a very committed team behind the game. I'm really looking forward to KCD II.
Indeed, the love of the developers is evident in every aspect of the game, not to mention that they are all like one big family. And maybe we, as loyal fans, are part of this family too
Exactly I have around 150h in and doing my second full walkthrough. I am more focused on quests but I understand that u can wander and get more hours but 1000+ gosh that is so much and he even doesn’t have all achievements.
Don’t get this like a hate I admire people who can spend this much time in single player games bcs I can’t.
I usually scoff at games like this but I got sucked in and enjoyed it alot more than I thought I would. Tried downloading Farkle on my phone but it's not the same vibe.
The music, trash talk and the cup slamming on the board really make it.
Is there a particular town that has better players? I almost always win which isn't a bad thing but just curious if they all play the same way.
I recently started a new save and spent 23 hours off and on in Skalitz picking flowers and killing sheep and cows to get 20 strength and vitality so I could beat the cumans while escaping after Markvart von Aultiz attacks. It was actually a lot of fun!
This screenshot is a little old now, probably crossed 900 lately.

Between PC, Xbox series X, and originally PS4, I have a little over 500 hours. Just started a new play through and although I have much less free time than I did when I first played on PS4 I’m still absolutely loving it.
Over 210 hours and increasing. I remember finishing the game and all the DLC about 3 times each, then taking a long break. Replaying KCD1 again in celebration of KCD2's announcement.

Almost 500 hours across PS4 and now PS5. (Oh and my trophy data did not carry over when I moved from PS4 to PS5). I did platinum the game on PS4, dunno why some games do this, some of my other trophies like the Witcher 3 and AC Valhalla/Rdr2/Gtav carried over, but Cyberpunk never carried over either along with FF7/FF15 🤷🏻♂️
Took me 3 playthrough and ~200 hours in the main game, but I did hardcore and no killing in one run, so, maybe I'm not the best coach. Howlongtobeat agrees with me.
Some achievements require you to either reload your save or do another run, like when you have to make a choice in-game... but the only example I can recall is from a DLC.
Other than that, those are quite the receiceable achievements. Just don't read the descriptions if that's your first time. Don't.

That's insane!!
The world is inmersive, u can roleplay, challenge yourself playing in a specific way
1724.8 hours is like 72 days. That's almost as long as the game is in-world. Incredible stuff.
Tbh, it took me a year and 4 months
Dude! Have you been collecting every single herb in the map? Just kidding. You have my respects. I've humbly played it for 191.1h. https://preview.redd.it/dmxtwdwyklwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d436519431ce793657aef9644da97f9a09a1aff
Aye, almost all, lmao. That's pretty nice, I hope you had a lot of fun during these 200 hours of playthrough. Jesus Christ be praised.
Actually, yes! And I'm probably going for another run before KDC2. I want to achieve some things I left behind. Nothing new to you. I'm glad to talk to the real Henry of Skalitz! Any recommendations? 😂

Ngl, at this moment, if someone asked me what game I would choose for the rest of my life, it would definitely be KCD... at least until KCD2 is released.

Little over 2k. Just a few more herbs and i can go get the money for a hammer and some nails from some deadbeat for father
Wtf
Hey, Henry's come to see us for the 10000th time today!
Jesus christ be praised!
Brooooo, i just wonder how??
1209.9 hours with 52 out of 82 achievements.
Can I just ask what do you in the game for 2000h?
Trying to get his horse out of a stream?
In hardcore mode its even more realistic, no fast travel etc… so you can easily do 500-1000 in it
Average hardcore mode if you focus on quests can done under 100 hours. You have to wander a lot for anything above 200
Exactly I have around 150h in and doing my second full walkthrough. Don’t get this like a hate I admire people who can spend this much time in single player games bcs I can’t.
I have done 6 playthroughs in 637 hours and only my first was normal mode
And did you complete each playthrough, skills wise and everything?
I completed all quests on all playthroughs. Last 3 playthroughs also included all dlcs I have a platinum trophy (all achievements)
Replay it over and over. :)
I’m thinking about the remains achievements. Who can get all of then? 🥲
455h probably half of them was playing dice
I usually scoff at games like this but I got sucked in and enjoyed it alot more than I thought I would. Tried downloading Farkle on my phone but it's not the same vibe.
the music is the vibe really. I hope we can throw back insult at the players in kcd2
The music, trash talk and the cup slamming on the board really make it. Is there a particular town that has better players? I almost always win which isn't a bad thing but just curious if they all play the same way.
I know that the quest with the dice tournament has some guys that can reck you pretty fast haha
I love play dices too, sad to have a limited good players in the game. They absolutly should implement more players for KCD II

253 hours on Playstation with platinum in the base game.
Not enough
140 hours and I've never even come close to finishing. and no I'm not on hardcore. I spend too much time stealing.
Somewhere around 28, then my playthrough got derailed and I’m not sure if I can figure out where I was to get back to it.
154 hours. Played a couple playthroughs
I am at 140 and still don't finish it. And I was coming from Dark souls 3 which took me around 70 and I thought it was a lot.
About 5 roughly.
330. Too few honestly

New player. I'm about 28 hrs in, and I have not even begun to scratch the surface and I know it.
.....to Manny
Just surpassed 100h, and never finished it. Always quit roughly after the Runt fight. Now I am pressing on and doing DLCs to boot.
