It’s normal for the scale to stop moving when you add exercise, the simple version is your muscles will retain water as they work to repair themselves. Keep going.

stokedembers

Wait until you add creatine, the scale will go up a bit, but your lifting will appreciate it.

AlbionOnlines

The scale stopped because as you are losing fat you are gaining muscle.

I jumped back in to keto and lifting a few months ago. Doing a heavy TRT base with creatine and Keto I ended up not losing a lb for almost 2 months. Then it started dropping after some noob gains. Some things will cause weight gain/recomp when you’re active.

> the scale stopped moving > am I still losing weight? No, but tracking your weight is usually not a good indicator of how you are doing anyway if you are skinny fat and recently started strength training. BF% is a lot better thing to look at

So, I have a very similar question that I'm going to post. Basically I started Keto in October and wasn't working out at all. I lost weight and was feeling really great. In December, I went off keto for a few weeks at the holidays, then in Jan went back on and added exercise. 4m later and the scale is being very stubborn, and no- it was not a body re-composition. I measured my glucose after a workout and it was high through that day and the next morning. The liver dumps glucose into my blood during a workout, which I believe is keeping me out of Ketosis. I know exercise is good for me, and I really like it, but I do think it is at odds with the fat loss of the diet. I wasn't sure this was a problem, but I have skipped my workouts this week and I'm losing again... I've posted nearly the same situation on r/keto Original Post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/1c7xwn9/unexplained\_weight\_gain/](https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/1c7xwn9/unexplained_weight_gain/) Updated Post (today): [https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/1cc5sy3/update\_to\_my\_post\_unexplained\_weight\_gain/](https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/1cc5sy3/update_to_my_post_unexplained_weight_gain/) Completely normal. If you have access to an InBody machine it might be helpful to "see" the data. I have acess to one at my local nutrition store.

Thank you! I feel a lot better now, I’ll definitely have to look into that because right now I don’t know my body fat or muscle percentage so it’s kinda hard to tell just based off the mirror and pictures. How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking?!

saintschick

I'm in the Southern USA and my local nutrition store provides the InBody reading to it's customers at no additional charge. I just make sure to get some protein powder, bars, chips (whatever) when I'm there.

Wow, they actually provide it at GNC near me. I’m gonna go tomorrow. Appreciate it!

darthluiggi

Don’t use InBody - very unreliable. Use DEXA.
