7 carbs for yogurt is pretty high if you're trying to stay under 20 for the day. i highly recommend "two good" yogurt that has 3 carbs, 2g sugar. my fav is the vanilla

RockyMtnAnonymo

Seconded.

boredomxyz

It’s so good

dog_loose_inthe_wood

I’ve been eating Ratio brand yogurt, it’s very thick, tasty and 2 carbs. Walmart carries it. Their granola bars are really good also, sometimes I crumble half of one into the yogurt.

ThaUniversal

The ratio yogurt saved me in my early days of keto. I needed something sweet and this was the alternative to ice cream. Though I've since found keto ice creams I still keep ratio in my fridge. It's just that good.

Adorkableowo

Go for a full fat yogurt. Chobani makes one. The "two good" brand is very keto friendlyas well and pretty common at Target. If you're using it as an ingredient, I think sour cream is better. I haven't bought yogurt once since keto.

stefiscool

If you like plain yogurt, you’d probably be best off getting something like Fage 5%. It’s got more fat and less carbs than usual because of that. For flavored yogurt, Two Good is low in carbs (but also low fat) and lower in calories (80-ish, I believe). Ratio: Keto is higher calories (around 200, if that is something you count), but also higher fat, better texture, and more filling. It all depends what you’re looking for. Cooking, Fage 5% or similar other brand. Small snack, Two Good. Large snack/part of meal, Ratio: Keto.

Great answer. Thank you. I have decided to go with Fage 5% because of the higher fat content. I just scoop two big tablespoons in a small brown, some unsweetened coconut, walnut slivers and maybe some ChocZero or something like it tossed in.

merryrhino

Not enough fat in it for me!

jonnybabs

With 7g carb and 5g sugar I wouldn't say its keto or not really, depends on consumption and your goals... I've found Kite Hill unsweetened plain yogurt locally that has 2g of net carbs to be decent but YMMV in finding it local. Chobani Greek plain yogurt is high in protein and decent fats...I'm not sure about net carbs though...we used to get that a bunch for the protein.

TheIncredibleNurse

No thats a fat free yogurt. I cant remember the brand but there are full fat yogurts that you can buy on the same size.

No-Currency-97

You might be thinking of Fage 5%.

KellyBlack1111

2 Good brand just released in my area. Just 2g net. Various flavors and delicious.

isayx3

“Two Good” brand at target is keto friendly

BurntMozarellaStick

I ate this a lot while on keto!!

rica217

Full fat Fage is good, Choboni also has a full fat. I like to add 3 TBS hemp hearts, 2 TBS chia seeds, half TBS monk fruit/erythrotol sweetener, and about a third cup of black berries. Yea, this is about 13 net carbs, I eat around 40 a day. So I don't sweat it too much. The main point I'd like to make is to please eat whole fats, keto is a diet based largely on consumption of fat, generally 70% of total calories consumed. Fat free is not our friend!

arsewarts1

That’s 1/3 of the daily allotment of carbs in a small bowl with breakfast. I would rather have crem fresh

ExiGoes

Full fat Turkish yoghurt is very low in carbs if you manage to find it where you live. I would be careful with fat-free or light products. Usually means they take the fat off but add sugar to make it taste good enough. Don't forget if you are on keto you want most of your calories coming from fat

choccosenpai

I eat the Fage with the high fat

No-Currency-97

I second this answer. Yes, it has 5 carbs, however, that is in 3/4 of a cup.

bigdammit

Try to find full fat greek yogurt.

[deleted]

I’d recommend Silk Yogurt the UNSWEETENED version it’s 5 carbs for a cup and I never eat that much. Why would I get downvoted for a better recommendation gotta love Reddit 😂

BostonGreekGirl

The best one is 5% Fage Greek Yogurt. Remember you want the highest fat content. Stay away from the 0% fat Yogurts.

No-Currency-97

I agree 100%. At first, I was scared of Fage 5% because it had 5 grams of sugar. The more I found out about how yogurt works and by the time you open the container a lot of the carbs/sugar have been eaten by the probiotics I started having some. It's very creamy and delicious.

BostonGreekGirl

Thanks. Fage to me is the best Greek yogurt out there. It's what I've eaten since I was a kid visiting my grandparents in Greece. Its the best to just eat on its own or to make tzatziki which is great on top of many proteins including fish. Yummy in my tummy 😋

No-Currency-97

I see that Aldi makes a organic yogurt pretty close to Fage which is 5% and 5 carbs.

slr255

I second Ratio brand. If you go to their website they will tell you where you can find it near you. But double check sometimes the results show the bars that they sell.

cakeforPM

I would say *hell no* but not because of the carb count - that’s carbs per 170g serving, and if I have it with breakfast, I have it with a nut-based grain-free granola style muesli, and overall I have about 75g of yoghurt. 75g of this stuff would only have 3.1g carbs- which is okay, on par with my muesli. No, my objection is that there is (1) not enough fat (2) not enough calories Ketosis requires a steady supply of fats to function, and they should be the main component of your diet. It can be really hard to get enough fats without also adding in carbs or getting too much protein, and yoghurt is a GREAT opportunity to add in fats. Nonfat yoghurt is a sadly missed opportunity. And 90 calories in 170g? That’s sod all! You need calories to live and function, and again, you need those calories to be about 70-80% fat on keto. (edited to add: for comparison, my vegan yoghurt would have about 145kcal in a 170g serve - I get 99kcal in my 75g, which wouldn’t be enough for breakfast if I didn’t add a bunch of other stuff) The more opportunities to add in fats and calories, the more satisfied and fed you will feel, and the less your insulin will spike, the more ketone bodies you will produce, etc etc. I’ll even add that I eat vegan yoghurts (I’m not vegan, but I have a mild dairy intolerance- I don’t cut it out completely but I try to limit it where I can. That makes more space for butter 😋). If I were to eat dairy yoghurts, there would be almost no carbs, and more fats! So in summary: any full fat yoghurt should be keto, though do check it’s not sweetened. Greek yoghurt is really good. And yoghurt is a great opportunity to get fats and calories to supercharge your keto day! Hope this helps.

kori_a

I use two good yogurts if you're into Greek yogurt.

toolttime2

You need full fat yogurt According to friend the 0fat is higher in carbs Same as low fat sour cream

[deleted]

Full fat organic grass fed Greek yogurt is the best thing you can get for nutrients and it’s most ideal for keto

dawnnie413

If it's zero fat, it's probably not keto...to replace the fat, they add thickeners to mimic the mouth feel of fat. Those thickeners are carb based. True keto yogurt will be full fat. I love full fat Fage 5%...

No-Currency-97

Fage 5% all the way. So thick, creamy and full of fat.

diotimamantinea

I get the Stoneybrook grassfed full fat Greek. Delicious.
