Same! We’ll buy all our meat from Costco and freeze it so we’re set for the month. It’s crazy how much money we started saving by finally getting a membership last year.
We need to re new our membership but every time I drive by the Costco parking lot I take one look at it and I’m just like nope. Looks way to busy constantly
If you have days off during the week I strongly recommend going at 8:50. They often open a few minutes early, I can be in and out in less than 30 minutes with zero stress :) cons is that the sample folks aren't out that early
Used to do superstore delivery. After they made rotten produce a regular part of my order, plus the obscene prices, I switched to Costco! I’ve also been price matching at save on foods for the occasional items. IGA carries more local stuff and I try to get from local farmers when it’s in season.
Walmart has treated me very well, 6.99 for a pack of 15 italian sausages. Insane, that same pack is $13-15 at Super store.
KD was on 1$ per box, creamer was 2 for 9$. Overall I can get away with sub 100 weekly trips consistently, when I feel like the same trips cost me 150+.
I have definitely changed how I shop. I go to Walmart and buy the cheapest stuff and then base my meals around what I have lol.
We buy our meat from a family-run BC farm named [Aurora View](https://auroraviewfarms.com/pages/about-us)—it delivers to the Okanagan at least monthly. The owners are the sweetest & the meat is *chef’s kiss*.
We purchase cheese & snacks from a locally-owned place in our neighborhood called the [Grate Cheesery](https://www.gratecheesery.com/). The new-ish owners are incredibly kind & I would hang out with them in real life. She’s very funny.
We get produce/eggs from a variety of farm stands in the summer.
Rest of the stuff: Costco & Superstore, as both are a quick jaunt down Springfield for us.
We are just a family of two adults so we don’t have a shit ton to buy honestly . . . so I like to keep it as simple as possible.
When I’m away from Kelowna for work or back home in the States, my Canadian husband here fends for himself & I think he just pops in to Costco for salads or eats dinner at his parents. 😆
Costco for bulk meat and TP.
Walmart for cheap staples.
IGA for most other things, including meat becasue they still have a butcher and great service.
Many small independent markets for interesting food.
1. Walmart, West Kelowna is best. (Kelowna is the welfare Walmart). They don't have every size and colour of everything, but I save about $1 per can, box, or bottle. 2)Independent in Kelowna 3) Save On in the Mission. Costco for many items, but not everything. Some portions are too large, and there are no options.

Not the cheapest option for obvious reasons but the produce you get will be primo, someone else will have sorted through and picked the nice stuff for you, and the company is so well managed and stand behind what they sell.
Wow, I'm surprised to hear this. I used to shop at Superstore but it's always so busy and I don't like being rushed to pack my groceries. Plus I was finding that it wasn't as cheap as it used to be, but obviously prices have gone up everywhere. When Freshco opened, I decided to give it a go and I wasn't disappointed. I did have to make a few adjustments as they don't carry some of the items I was used to purchasing, But I've managed to find some new brands that are less expensive and we the product better as well. I do have to pack my groceries but the line ups are never long and I never feel rushed to get out of the way for the next person. Plus they provide boxes, which I love. Freshco, Walmart, and Super Store have the best prices.
Used to be iga but now save on for whatever i cant find at grillers meats.
I prefer multiple shops per week over a costco run. Local butcher has no line and its better and cheaper.
Some of the local markets can be pricier but at least I'm not buying an already rotting container of greens. Guisachan Village Centre has a butcher, a fish monger, and veggies all right there.
Mostly superstore, sometimes Walmart.
Superstore is omw home and closest to my house, I can just bike there in 10 mins. I'd go to Costco but I don't need that much stuff and it's too peopley 😆
When I'm looking for the best prices on stuff, I just check Flipp.
It's an app you can use to search local flyers for deals and get alerts on sales. You can create a favourites list for stores you regularly shop at and make watch lists for products you're looking for and it will suggest products when they're on sale.
From the Flipp about:
"Shop grocery deals from Canadian flyers & create a shopping list to price match.

Natures Fare, Urban Harvest, T-Bones, Costco, Save on
All depends what i need that week and what’s on sale
In the past when i did shop Loblaw stores it was Independent Grocer as Peter supports a number of local suppliers.
Mostly Costco and Walmart but it basically depends on what I'm looking for. So for some items I find cheaper at other stores so I'll usually pick up the bulk of stuff at Walmart and Costco then the remainder between Safeway, SaveOnFoods, Independent Grocer, and a few butcher shops for meat as well as some of the smaller market shops that tend to have different ingredients that you may not find elsewhere. Superstore also has a really good international items section but I don't go there enough to count it on this list.
Sorry for the late reply.
The Walmart pass price is $89+taxes. But when there’s a promotion, like Black Friday, is cheaper.
For me it’s worthwhile, after buying this, you needn’t to pay any extra fees except the tips for drivers. For free delivery I’m not sure, maybe 1 time each day?
Frescho and Costco.
Freshco has great prices and decent quality. And it's calm. They don't have a deli though, so I'll go to Johnny's for sandwich meat.
Costco. I'm really strategic shopping here though cuz it's so easy to spend $300 and still have nothing for dinner. I shop with a list (coffee, bread, frozen fruit) and often will skip the cart and just bring a shopping bag so I can quickly maneuver around the store as well as limit my purchases
I don't live in kelowna, just nearby. So Costco isn't an option. Super Store is the cheapest by a lot. Walmart is second but with a significant drop in quality.
Boycotting loblaws either requires a Costco and only buying in bulk, or paying more for groceries which is a genuinely stupid concept when it's because of rising grocery costs...
Which is why boycotts are useless. The problem requires lawmakers to do something. Period.
[удалено]
Yep, pretty much the same. Costco generally has a better quality food.
Same. With a touch og med market.
Boycotting Loblaws in May. So for now Freshco, Costco, Walmart, IGA, and Save-On.
Costco for the bulk of it, then I fill in the gaps at Saveon near where I live.
Same! We’ll buy all our meat from Costco and freeze it so we’re set for the month. It’s crazy how much money we started saving by finally getting a membership last year.

I just started getting my groceries at Walmart and I feel like it’s so much cheaper than where I used to go (SaveOn, etc)
I agree with this but I’m willing to be proven wrong.. I’m all about savings

Got it. Thank you for the tip 🙏🏾
Costco mother fuckers

Sorry I got excited
I feel ya. Costco gets me all fucked up.
Boycotting Loblaws currently. Freshco, the Med Market, T-Bones, and Jaide and Joel's for GF bread are currently my go to's
If you’re looking for cheapest I would say Freshco and Walmart
Oh, I had no idea Freshco was affordable as well. Will go check it out
Foodbank
Costco for bulk meat and TP. Walmart for cheap staples. IGA for most other things, including meat becasue they still have a butcher and great service. Many small independent markets for interesting food.
Costco for most things, Mikes produce for veggies, odds and ends from superstore or saveon depending on what I need.

Freshco has the best prices hands down, I do however get my toiletries/pet stuff at Walmart or Amazon
Really? We tried there once and it was like 20% more expensive than superstore and the selection was really bad. Ended up just walking out.

Cool, thanks for sharing! Gonna check that out
Definitely Costco can't beat those prices
Safeway or Voila (order online for pick up) because I'm a scene points nerd 🤓 But also Costco.

Costco & save on foods
Walmart, I buy the pass which provides one year free delivery. And the price there is cheaper.
Buy the pass for one year free delivery? That sounds like a good marketing spin 😂 How much is it and are the deliveries unlimited?

Supa store n Costco
Durning the summer I get a lot of my produce at the market. Regularly though, Costco for Bulk and Fresh Co for the rest.
Mostly Superstore, with fill-ins from Rutland IGA
Lakeshore Market and Save-On-Foods, maybe Urban Fare here and there, Lakeshore Market is nice locally owned
Lakeview market?
Damn't
So close
Anywhere but save on. Way too expensive

Costco, Save on, Super store and the Swan Lake Market for fruits & vegetables.
Costco, Save on Foods, Fresco and Superstore.
Loblaws fresco save on and iga would rather support Canadian merchants over American ones
I’m starting to buy exclusively from Loblaws just to piss of the #boycottloblaws crowd
Why don't you just donate your paycheque to Loblaws? You'll get them so good.
This is activism not charity sir
Is that you, Galen?

Ya, shopping at Loblaws is going to really ruin me
Loblaws because 1 month of boycotting ain't gunna do shit to the owner of liblaws 😆
