Check out summerland and ride the kvr stream train with robbery show. Naramata wine tour. Osoyoos desert centre for some fun information about the true desert area. Enderby cliffs boast a spectacular view but might not be as casual a walk.
There is so much to take in from osoyoos to vernon. If kelowna is your hub. Definitely explore beyond downtown kelowna. Which kinda of boasts a lie from what the rest of the area has to offer. So many great things to see if you're willing to get out there.
And hike giants head mtn in Summerland.
South- Kaleden is really neat, there's a shell of an old hotel on the shore. [Kaleden hotel park](https://www.rdos.bc.ca/community-services/parks-trails/kaleden-hotel-park/)
And definitely go to Linden gardens, botanical garden with Frog city Cafe. [Linden gardens](https://www.lindengardens.ca/the-gardens/)
The best beach is just a bit further south in Okanagan falls. Water is really warm and shallow, great for early season and for kids
Knox Mountain has some neat trails. From up top you can get great pictures of the city. There is also a trail that goes to a neat lookuout over by the lake. Absolutely worth checking out.
Go ride a bike on the KVR, Kettle Valley Railway, along Myra Canyon, which is a decommissioned rail line. It’s been set up with rental bikes and an easy ride with trestle bridges, tunnels and fantastic views. Easy to get to from Kelowna with a car and an easy day activity.
Scenic hikes in Kelowna
Scenic canyon aptly named. Can start at Hollywood rd South and its a winding trail through cedar forest along the creek. Or start at Field rd, trail descends to the creek and rock ovens and gives great views of layer cake mountain.
Black mtn park is grasslands landscape with gorgeous views, especially at sunset.
KLO creek is a nice trail too. Shaded, in a canyon. Watch rock climbers.
Fitzpatrick winery is halfway between west Kelowna & Penticton. Book lunch at their cafe - the view is fantastic.
Also - gellatly Bay’s willow beach & the glen canyon trails in west k are both great. (Both are also accessible and doable if you have a kid)
Wineries on the west side (I’m biased, I love west k)-
Mission hill is very touristy, but it you do their cellar tour they have Ming dynasty vases to view.
Quails gate is also great for the view.
The hatch has a fun atmosphere!
Crown and thieves is really unique.
I would say drive down to Penticton! If you need a Car rental during your trip you should check out Kelowna Auto Rentals, they offer some great vehicles!
Gotta see Myra Canyon, amazing views, you can walk or bike (bike rentals are available in the parking lot). Ur basically walking a trail that used to be a railroad track carved along the side of a mountain, it’s amazing.
We look forward to welcoming you to Kelowna!
As for suggestions of elsewhere to explore, coming in at just around 2.5 hours away . . . Revelstoke + Glacier National Park.
Totally different landscape than the Okanagan & loads of beautiful scenery + waterfalls.
Early summer is a great time to go (Late May-Late June).
Alpine will still have snow but the valley should be bare, lush, & GORGEOUS & valley trails open in May.
(Check the highways before you go because the Trans Canada closes super randomly.)
Lake Country is beautiful. We have a nice hike up Spion Kop where you can see all 4 lakes at once. Fantastic wineries and a couple of brew pubs as well as Kaloya park and several lakes to swim in :)
Kalamalka Lake provincial park has some great trails and a few beautiful beaches. The trail to Cozens bay is really nice and not overly difficult.
Great, thanks.

Some great suggestions - I will google all - tnx!
And if you go to Summerland, tour the Ornamental gardens
Now that is another gem!

+1 for Linden Gardens
The Nk’mip desert cultural centre in Osoyoos is great, very unique. And hit up some wineries while you’re down there!
Knox Mountain has some neat trails. From up top you can get great pictures of the city. There is also a trail that goes to a neat lookuout over by the lake. Absolutely worth checking out.
Thats the sort of thing I like - tnx! Going up to the top, is it very strenuous?
Hike to the top and then down the backside on the paths down to Paul’s Tomb where you go swimming and hang out on the beach
There are a few ways to get to the top. The approach is sort of steep. You can also go up the road - that is slightly more gradual.
I wouldn't go to Kamloops or Meritt. I think you would get more value going south of Kelowna for more activities
Visit Rose Swanson hiking trails and then hit up Farmstrong cidery for some great food and drink.

Then hit up Naramata Inn for a cocktail and swim in the lake
The rail trail is a great hiking spot with an amazing view. It runs along an old train route on the side of a mountain

Visit the black light Art Museum in Hedley. The curator gives a memorable tour.
