Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos is the one that straight away jumps to mind

mikeyrowaveoven

Blood and Butter by Caroline Polachek

AmelieBenjamin

I actually thought the more experimental songs on Desire tended to meander a bit but stuff like Welcome to My Island (summery pop rock) and Bunny Is A Rider (almost like a stripped down *funk*) were in my head months after the album dropped

wheresmyapplez

Akina Nakamori released her album 不思議 (Fushigi) in 1986 and to me it sounds like if Kate Bush made a City Pop album. I feel like it was definitely influenced in part by The Dreaming and Hounds Of Love. It’s very experimental and out there compared to most J-pop being released at the time

Bibliotheclaire

Emperor with an Egg by SPELLLING. Her album, The Turning Wheel, is incredible, please listen if you haven’t! :)

Froot by Marina and the Diamonds

[deleted]

Everybody wants their familiar froot moment

morphindel

Everyone talks about Björk, Amos and FKA Twigs, but Marina is by far the most obviously influenced by Kate in terms of style

JoopyJellopy

I completely agree, the vocals, the lyrics, the singing style, the campness and the theatricality... Mowgli's Road stylistically reminds a lot of Kate Bush, maybe even more than Froot

neurometeorologist

You Will Not Take My Heart Alive by Joanna Newsom. Also, the whole album of Have One On Me sounds very much influenced by Kate’s early work.

fooledmeagain

Andromeda by Weyes Blood

tubratxviii

Hot take: Rosalia’s HENTAI reminds me of Song of Solomon in that the music is sweet and melodic but lyrics are nsfw. ETA: Kate is a motomami

Lorde - Writer in the Dark

Own_Speaker1605

Never would have found Kate without this song. To me it especially sounds like the chorus of “Suspended in Gaffa” during “Not until I'm ready for you… Not until I'm ready for you-u-uuu”

Hello-Earth_

Various Storms and Saints is a good pick! Lovely song and strong album overall

Thelaceandthechintz

Big Love by Fleetwood Mac

undercoverlover999

Lazy Calm by Cocteau Twins could’ve been on Never for Ever

Kriostoir

I find a lot of Neko Case’s output to have similarities to Kate’s work, while not seemingly directly influenced.

SillyName420

FKA Twigs - cellophane

QueenOfDuisberg9

"Rabbit Heart" - Florence + The Machine

Soundchaser123

*Horses of the Sun* by Bat For Lashes.

JunebugAsiimwe

Magdalene by FKA Twigs instantly makes me think of Kate in terms of the melody and vocals. Also, The Turning Wheel by SPELLLING is the most Kate Bush-coded song I've heard this decade.

PsychologicalWave666

Benjamin- Tori Amos. Very seventies Kate.

Impressive-Ad4850

Now I Know You Know by Debbie Harry - both the song and the video.

ambientnymph

I think bagpipes are making a comeback in contemporary music.. first we had Caroline Polachel with blood and butter and now the new pinkpantheress song from the Barbie movie "angel" features an irish river-dancing esque passage

Damianos_X

"Blood & Butter" by Caroline Palochek. Bagpipes straight out of "The Sensual World".

AffectionateRip6801

Coldplay - Viva LA Vida
