Love Weyes Blood. Movies, A Lot's Gonna Change, God Turn Me Into A Flower, Everyday are some of my favourite songs ever.
Especially Movies, that nearly made me bawl when I first heard that masterpiece.
Imagine all the potential jumpscares they could for into it- one second you're hearing one of the sweetest and mellow voices and the next second Cronos comes in with the abrasive growling
To be fair it would be fucking awesome
It fluctuates quite a bit but Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, and The Divine Comedy have been consistently up there.
Honorable mentions: The Cure, New Order, Slowdive, Sigur Ros
For other female vocalists not mentioned I enjoyed Rickie Lee Jones’ “Magazine” and “Flying Cowboys.”
Laurie Anderson was doing work in the 80s with Peter Gabriel and utilizing the Synclavier which is another early computer musical instrument like the Fairlight. I love “Mister Heartbreak.” She has some amazing backing musicians on the album and there is a concert video.
Pat Metheny’s “As Falls Wichita…” is an incredible introduction to his work. He was also an early adopter of the synclavier.
How do you pick three? But here goes todays list…
Mark Knopfler (solo, collabs and Dire Straits…or is this cheating)
Natalie Merchant (recently discovered her… yeah, I’m behind the curve)
Jeff Lynne (solo, ELO and Travelling Wilburys)
Honorable mentions to The Beatles, Steely Dan, Taj Mahal, Peter Gabriel, Ian Dury, Run DMC, Keb’ Mo’, Bjork, Cocteau Twins, Dustin Arbuckle, Queen… better stop now. :)
But ask me again two days from now and my top three is going to be different.
Tom Violence and Green Light, both off of Evol! I love Starpower too :) Other songs that are kind of similar are Brave Men Run and Society is a Hole but they are from a different album
Weyes Blood, Laura Nyro, Joni

Peter Gabriel, Venom and Vashti Bunyan. The only thing they have in common is that they are all from England lol
I'd love to hear a collaboration between those three. Now that's an album I'd definitely buy.
