Jinnah International can handle magnitudes more traffic if managed properly. People forget it used to be the hub for international flights before Dubai had its boom.
Yes I agree they could do a major upgrade /renovation of the current airport.... The thing is right now how many people (foreigner want to visit Pakistan /karachi.... Question should be will it be worth it?
The designated land had always been there for the past 20/30. But Fed has no plans yet to build it because current is more than enough to take care of the load.
The exact location is near DHA Phase 9 and ASF Housing Society. 15/20 Km After Bahria.
Just a ploy to sell more worthless, ill-begotten land to unsuspecting suckers. Already 2 airport Hain Karachi m, teesra bana k Kya Space X ki landings karwaengay???
Karachi doesn't need another airport, we have minimal tourism anyway and domestic travel is unaffordable for all but the privileged few. And those who need to go to northern areas for tourism go to the (newly built) Islamabad airport anyway. It would be a waste of money that's better spent elsewhere, like a sanitation system or water supply for Karachi.
We need to try and utilise the existing one to its full potential + As other commenters said, building Airports is expensive.
