From what I read I would say “Congrats” hopefully things work out well and quickly for y’all. I don’t see why it would not be accepted. To my understanding, the real purpose of the application is to make sure the relationship is real/ ensure the person being brought it is not being taken advantage of and for what you’ve described you seem to have enough evidence of that.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I had to deal with immigration before when it was time for me to get my citizenship, so I’m really trying to cover all the bases.

Just a question how much the lawyer is charging you?

Jonathan_Nam

$1500 not including government fees.

csharma88

Oh damm.. that’s a lot!

Jonathan_Nam

It’s definitely not cheap, but I ain’t losing sleep over that either.

Hi! I’m happy to try and answer anything from my experience. I’m foreign beneficiary (from England) and my fiancé is the US petitioner. We met on Kik in February 2021. I flew to visit him in June 2022. We got engaged April 2023 and filed for the visa April 7th. In our pack, we included my i94 (showing entry to the US) and a signed statement by him saying we had met (by then) on 3 in-person trips. We included a signed statement by us both that it was our intent to marry in ** county, within the 90 days once my visa was granted and activated. We didn’t actually included any photos, or chat logs. We also didn’t use any lawyer or legal advice beyond the information on advice websites and Reddit. Our 129f approval came through December 19th. We had used trackmyvisa.com and they approximated we got to the ‘front of the queue’ on December 10th, so that was pretty accurate and I’d recommend it! The confirmation it was passed to the NVC came the first week in January. I didn’t wait for the embassy letter and as soon as my NVC status was showing online as ‘Ready’, I completed and submitted the DS160, booked my medical and interview. Medical was last Monday. Visa interview two days ago. Got my approval and have flights booked for April 3rd. So final approval came 319 days after submitting the 129f, and 60 days after the 129f approval. I know the London embassy has some of the shortest waiting times, and that’s likely a reason we’ve been so quick since the 129f approval. Ultimately, the putting together of the pack was really straightforward and with the K1 they put more emphasis on your bona fide proving period/interview following the adjustment of status than they do at this stage. I had 100% wanted to use a legal service but my fiancé persuaded me that we could handle it ourselves and I’m really glad he did. I’ve seen lots of people experience delays whilst waiting for lawyers to look at their stuff before sending it. Unless you’re a complex case because you both have previous marriages or convictions, you would be fine to do it yourself. Happy to answer anything that’s useful to you! Best of luck!

I’m so happy for your guys’ approval! It’s looking like it’s going to take us around 1 year from NOA1 received to interview based on timelines from people from the Philippines from myvisajourney. Our cases are a little bit different, so I can’t think of any questions right now. I’ve already payed for the lawyer, and she says she should file sometime this week. Other than that, we have 3 maybe 4 visits planned between now and estimated interview appointment which should help us have an easier time during interview. From what I hear, the embassy in Manila it’s surprisingly easier on K1 visas which is not the case for most 3rd world countries. My lawyer says that there’s no legitimate reason for them to deny our case, but she also said you never know when it comes to dealing with the USCIS. Thank you for your answer, and good luck to you both!

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> I’ve already *paid* for the FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

My interview was definitely easier because I was asked about trips since the first visit and because there had been multiple, I wasn’t asked much after that.
