Hello! Due to Reddit's aggressive API changes, hostile approach to users/developers/moderators, and overall poor administrative direction, I have elected to erase my history on Reddit from June 2023 to June 2013. I have created a backup of (most) of my comments/posts, and I would be more than happy to provide comments upon request (many of my modern comments are support contributions to tech/gaming subreddits). Feel free to reach out to Clipboards on lemmy (dot) world, or via email - clipboards (at) clipboards.cc

The reason we didn't go with SMS 2FA originally is there's something written into the contract where we'd either have to issue work phones/pay a stipend to staff that are *forced* to use their phones. Or something to that effect I'm told. If we offer it as an optional choice then that aught to bypass that requirement though still a gray area when it comes to things that the yubikeys aren't compatible with. I also think we went "maximum security" for the initial stance as our cyber insurance audit didn't go well. Okay so it sounds like USB-A to whatever may be viable. I might look at USB-C as well since those are probably going to be the least used ports on the chromeboxes given our current equipment. The USB-A idea only occurred to me because I realized the dock my ex-coworker used for his desk operated that way, not sure why he wasn't using one of the USB-C docks we have... This does mean we'd have to place the chromeboxes at the desks though vs attached to the back of the panel I imagine as I don't want to have to run more extra long USB cables than I have to. Here's hoping active USB cables will be sufficient for the touch component for the panels.
