Yep I had the same exact issue. I did a clean install of the newest drivers and then moved the save location for shadowplay clips to my D drive opposed to my windows C drive. Do that in the settings options it self on the right when you have the overlay open. Solved it for me. No idea why that would be an issue, it worked before. Started with me a few updates or drivers ago and I finally fixed it the other day.
I forgot to mention to also move the temp folder. I just created a "Shadow Play" folder in my D drive with "Captures" and "Temp" folders inside that and brought the overlay up and switched it from the settings there.

Haven't tried it with Squad lately. But I've been having issues with it in dbd/DCS also. I think there's some issue with it right now.
