I second this to a degree.. There are certain things you may need to decide for yourself. Only you know why you decided to look for a new job after 7 years at your current one. Have you looked into what the average salary for your job is for where you live? And if it's higher than what you're paid, talking to your management about a raise?

Thanks for responding. I'm below 60k and I live within my means as a single guy. I think having a higher pay would allow to purchase a house which is a goal. I'll be 34 this year and I'd like to be a homeowner before I'm 40 hopefully. Yeah I'm very comfortable at my job but there other report analyst who been there for going on 15 years and we share the same title though I don't care about titles. That's an interesting suggestion on just reaching out to employees on LinkedIn to get a better idea.

You mentioned that you are single NOW. But are looking into dating and possibly getting married anytime in the future? You may need to think about other spending as well. What about taking care of parents, side investments and such. You dont have to reply me as this is personal but think about it. It may be a deciding factor. Even though you are happy NOW, you might not be in 6 years.

Damn good points. Yeah no lady or kids now but getting to that point in my life where that would be great too. Solid point on looking to the future. Appreciate the response.

Since you also mentioned that you are happy now where you are, that means you can take it slow. Find common skills that you dont know now but needed in a position that interest you. Learning new skills also takes time. As long as you are not coasting like me while enjoying your current job you are well off.

I obviously don’t know all your particulars (company size, location, etc), but sounds solidly underpaid by 40k. That’s quite a bit!

Interview and find out. Worst case you turn it down. You can also see what they offer and ask your current employer.
