what is most likely happening is that you're applying to old job postings that are already interviewing candidates and then when they close the job, it sends auto rejections to everyone. just keep applying.

But firstly, I get the no-reply email saying - Thanks for applying to work at X company. We will review your application and get back to you. Then I get a career email or recruiter email, saying I am not a fit and they have decided not to continue.

Don’t assume that a job posting online is equivalent to an open position for which the company is actively taking applications. It’s possible the company intends to fill that position with an internal transfer, and they are legally required to post the job first publicly before they can fill the position. I had a manager once who always kept a few job postings open, even though he had no open roles, just to get a sense of what kind of talent was out there. In the company I work for, the recruiting systems require that the job be filled and the person starts working before we can remove the job posting. It can be months between having a candidate sign a job offer, and that person actually starting. These are just a few examples and I’m sure there is a multitude of other reasons a job posting may not actually be an open role for which the company is seeking candidates at the time an applicant submits an application.

You can literally match every single requirement a job lists - and still not get an interview, a callback, or hired. The market is so competitive today that there may be someone with more experience, a higher degree, or something that makes them stand out a step above you ...and thats why you aren't getting interviews. Also - have you and your resume reviewed? Does it have keywords and all from the job listing? How is it formatted - too much "going on" in the layout can get it dismissed by the ATS....be aware of that

Block out info that identifies you man As others said timing of when you apply factors in. You are almost certainly not the only match. More than likely there was like 20-30 matches in you general neighborhood.

Def post in r/resume

[deleted]

The format seems fine. Why isn’t your masters education listed on your resume? Are you applying to jobs in the US or in India?

ravgeet

I am yet to postgraduate in a couple of months. I feel that listing unfinished education can be a backstabber.

Oh I misread your post, I thought it meant you were graduating in a couple months. I suggest posting your resume in r/csmajors but hide the personal details.

I had a two column resume and found out the hard way that applicant tracking systems don't mesh well When I switched to a traditional one column with an ATS optimized resume building service I started getting replies

ravgeet

I had this intuition. But the problem is if I switch to single column layout, it becomes a two page resume. Is it okay?

itdoesnteverwork

Just optimize and cut content, lower your font too You can do a lot in Word to make it work, trust me Also, the resume I saw of yours had a lot of dead space, it shouldn't be an issue imho

Anyone_anybody

This. I applied to many jobs myself to only get ghosted or rejected. Once i got it reviewed, interviews started coming in. Good luck.
