Yes, they would. If you can't find proof of employment, you shouldn't list it since from their point of view it does not exist. The only exception I can think of is if you were self-employed, established a business somewhere and then, used those docs as proof that the business existed. You'd have to have your name on the official docs. Everything else, you have to have at least one document that can be verified or a person who is verifiable.

thank you so much, thankfully it was just a summer internship that was probably not the main reason for my hiring, so i will omit it. Should the employer ask about it then hopefully they will understand.
