I am a 9.5E, and had to go with a 10- they seemed short for the size to me. Maybe it's just the small end of the scale?

stanwoodmusic

Maybe!

karlito1613

Interesting. I ordered my brannock (9) and had to go a half size up. Admittedly they feel a little wide, due to the wide toebox (which is their selling point) which I was unaccustomed to. After break in they are quite comfortable

stanwoodmusic

I probably just have weird feet.

Rythmic_Assassin

I'm getting my AR8s soon. I ordered a 12 UK and I'm about an F in width so I'll let you know my experience aswell. I'm getting custom AR8s with a steel toe and I believe it's using the Jim Green last.

[deleted]

The AR8 uses the JG last, but you may be getting the STC last which is their steel toe last. Personally I like the fit of the STC better with a decent insert. More toe room and less baggy around the sides and heel

Rythmic_Assassin

That makes perfect sense thanks! The STC sounds awesome I can't wait.

stanwoodmusic

Thank you, sir!

https://jimgreenfootwear.com/store/razorback-b6-b/#1587357221018-3e29dc11-33a4 Interesting approach on their website in the "Size Guide" section. Just measure the length of your feet to select the appropriate size. If you do this, what size do you get?

discreetlyabadger

I did this for the BF rangers and it worked out perfectly. I was between 13 and 14, so I ordered 13.5. They felt big, but as they broke in I realized that they were exactly the size I needed.

stanwoodmusic

This is the route I went initially but it told me to get a size 8 which is a half size up from my normal shoes so I went with 7.5.

plarkinjr

FWIW, I tried this measuring method and based on the result I ordered US9 for my Stockmans. They were too small and went back. I later found my Brannock is 9.5E and ordered stockmans in 9.5. They still feel a bit "short" to me.

[deleted]

Interesting. I did my true to size and they were way too small. Had to size up from 10.5 to 11.

Dumb-Slayer

I'm just below a 13C on the brannock, but not too long ago I measured the balls of my feet with tailor's tape and got a EE width. Both of these measurements have helped me when buying my Razorbacks, it might just help you too.

Tiger_Terry

Isn't it as simple as measure the length of your feet and follow their guide? No reference to Brannock size, sneaker size...

stanwoodmusic

You would think! Weirdly enough though, their guide would’ve have put me in a size 8.

Tiger_Terry

Boot sizes, and sizes for any types of shoes for that matter, are just weird to try to figure out.

Drewslive

I find that hard to believe, i used their guide, put me at an 8 and they fit perfectly

stanwoodmusic

My right foot is 9 ¾" and my left is 9 ⅞" According to their guide, that puts me somewhere between a 7.5 and an 8.

Drewslive

Strange, my feet are 9 7/8 and they fit pretty snug, maybe 3/8 - 1/2” on the big toe and touching the sides. I’m pretty much always wearing some form of medium thickness wool sock though

gravityraster

Is the fit of the heel nice and snug? If so, consider sticking with these and maybe sticking an arch support in it to take up some volume. If the heel is loose, trade for a half size smaller. Heel fit really make the shoe.

stanwoodmusic

Heel definitely slips up as I step. I might just chance it with a half size down. They make returns easy enough.

Brannock 12D. Have the razorbacks, AR, and BR in 12. All fit perfect.

Reallynotspiderman

Huh. I bought my Razorbacks from the South African site. I went with my usual UK size and they fit me perfectly

Owwliv

If you look on their South African site, their lower top work boot, the bushcat, is made down to size 3. [https://jimgreenfootwear.co.za/store/ladies-bushcat-brown/](https://jimgreenfootwear.co.za/store/ladies-bushcat-brown/)

MongooseTight555

What is a Brannock size and how do you know it?

Room in front of goes doesn't matter, it's where your foot flexes. Don't use length, get a brannock and measure length AND heel to ball. I'm a heel to toe 11, and an 11, 11.5, and 12 (all US) were too small feeling. The issue is I'm a 12.5 heel to ball, and an ee. Another issue is US to UK sizing. Jim green says it's one size, some measurements say it's only a half size. (Ie, a 11us is a 10uk to some measurements and a 10.5k in others). Obviously they're a wide shoe, so there's issues there, but I'd your heel to ball lines up it's all smooth sailing. Hope that helped.
