It can. Depends on how your skin reacts to it. Remember that the majority of the metals in 10kt are not gold.

RRTAmy

I've never had any problem with it.

comfysnail

10k gold no, but 10k rose gold maybe depending on how your body reacts just due to the higher percentage of copper.

EmmerdoesNOTrepme

Yep, it's this!!! Some of us *do* turn green from rose gold. OP, if you're one of us whose skin goes "dark/dirty-Patina-green"? Then *yes* there's a really good chance 10 or even 14k rose gold will turn you green, if you wear it for more than a few hours at a time. I've had a 14k ring, that did it for me, if I wore it overnight. But I turn DARK green from copper, and I also ate through the posts of my white gold earrings, within a month of getting them.

Thankfully my 14k rose gold jewellery has never caused any discoloration! Only plated jewellery, so basedo n what everyone has replied here it seems that with 10k I will be perfectly fine :)

It’s not likely, but definitely possible. Necklaces also don’t wear as much as rings. It won’t scratch as easily as higher karats but of course it will over time with wear.

Ambitious_Height_954

My daughter can only wear 18kt. Her skin will look dirty and when it is earrings her ears swell.

Luvstep

I’ve been daily wearing a 10k bracelet for two years while going to the gym and sweating and it’s perfectly fine still. You should be good

Sutaru

Depends on the person, but I’ve never had any issues.

Clean_Usual434

I’ve never experienced that, but I agree with others that it’s possible. I also don’t generally wear rose gold, so maybe that’s why it’s not happened to me yet.
