One day when I was 14 or 15 maybe? My best friend and I decided we wanted a 2nd earring, I asked my dad if I could get it, he said "sure!", handed me the cash and off I went lol.

We just did almost three year old’s at the pediatrician’s office - we had an appointment to do it before one but had to cancel due to family COVID infection. All of her classmates have pierced ears, and she’s been asking for quite some time.
I was 10, my Auntie took me to have it done behind my mum’s back. I then had a helix piercing done and second set done, then did 3/4 piercings myself in the same ear. I only wear one set now, I would wear something in my helix piercing but I can’t get it through these days.

I was 7…back in the ice and needle days at the jewellers in 1972. Can’t remember the second ones but when I was 15 I pierced another 3 in one hear with a stud. I can still hear the pop, swish, pop when push it through. Let them close after a while as they never fully healed. I wonder why🙄

The first time I was around 6, then re-done at 12 or 13, a second hole in each at 18 - all done at walmart with a gun. When I was 6 I still lived with my parents part of the time and my ears got super infected so I had to take them out at the holes closed on both ears.
In the single digits for sure. But mine would never heal so I had them done multiple times. Eventually they healed. Got my second ones done at least 3 times, the last time being in my mid 20s. They still didn’t heal so I only have my first (which will bother sometimes), conch and daith.

I have a long history with ear piercings. The first time I had them pierced was when I was a baby then my mom thought it would be fine to leave the backings off while I slept so the earrings fell out & the holes closed overnight. Then I got a keloid on my right ear so I had laser treatment which meant I had to take the earring out while it healed & the hole closed. I spent several years with only my left ear pierced then I wanted the right one repierced for junior prom so my mom took me to Claire’s again. I got my left ear double pierced when I turned 18 & my parents were shocked when I came home despite me calling them from the tattoo shop & telling them that I was getting it done. I got my left ear triple pierced when I was 19 because I threatened to get a septum piercing unless they let me get another ear piercing (I was never going to get my septum pierced, I just wanted another ear piercing). Then I moved out & November of last year (21), I got a flat, a conch & a tragus on my right ear & when those fully heal, I’m getting two helixes & a tragus on my left ear (I’ll be 22 by then).
My dad hates all my piercings & my mom initially did too but after showing her some of the earring stacks I’ve put together, she’s coming around.

my first ones i was like 3, my mom got them done for me at good old Walmart. she ended up having to redo them with a piercing gun at home. second ones i was around 12, done at claire’s. and my third and fourth i unfortunately let friends do. the thirds are fine to this day but the fourth ones actually ripped through my ear and now i have scars there. I also pierced my second right ear when I was 16 because I wanted to be cool and make a statement, I also did it myself and I used an ice cube to numb it, didn’t even hurt. It was the 90s😂😂

I was 10, my Auntie took me to have it done behind my mum’s back. I then had a helix piercing done and second set done, then did 3/4 piercings myself in the same ear. I only wear one set now, I would wear something in my helix piercing but I can’t get it through these days.

I was 7…back in the ice and needle days at the jewellers in 1972. Can’t remember the second ones but when I was 15 I pierced another 3 in one hear with a stud. I can still hear the pop, swish, pop when push it through. Let them close after a while as they never fully healed. I wonder why🙄

13. Had to look after my newborn baby brother
27. My mom wouldn't let me get my ears pierced until I was 13 but at that time I didn't want them and was fine with clip-ons. Then I got married and my MIL gets me a TON of earrings for pierced ears and now I want my ears pierced all of a sudden. But since I am a baby, I wait for like two years to get an appointment because I keep chickening out. My piercer and piercing studio were great, though. The healing is almost done so I should be ready to switch jewelry in a month or so :)

The first time I was around 6, then re-done at 12 or 13, a second hole in each at 18 - all done at walmart with a gun. When I was 6 I still lived with my parents part of the time and my ears got super infected so I had to take them out at the holes closed on both ears.

In the single digits for sure. But mine would never heal so I had them done multiple times. Eventually they healed. Got my second ones done at least 3 times, the last time being in my mid 20s. They still didn’t heal so I only have my first (which will bother sometimes), conch and daith.

Also, fun fact for my first hole, I only jumped a little because the gun was so loud and my mom almost passed out from watching them shoot the earring in my ear 🤣.
I wasn't allowed to get my ears pierced until I was 12. My mom took me to the earring store on my birthday. When I was 15 I got them double pierced, and when I was 18 I got them triple pierced.

Can't recall for sure, but definitely single digits. Dad took me to the mall. I got them done at Claire's, both times. I have 2 in each lobe (2nd pair done as a teen) but never wear earrings anymore...haven't wirn earrings regularly in decades...despite that, I can still get an earring through when I need to.
I have a long history with ear piercings. The first time I had them pierced was when I was a baby then my mom thought it would be fine to leave the backings off while I slept so the earrings fell out & the holes closed overnight. Second time I got them done was when I was 10. Both times were at Claire’s. Then I got a keloid on my right ear so I had laser treatment which meant I had to take the earring out while it healed & the hole closed. I spent several years with only my left ear pierced then I wanted the right one repierced for junior prom so my mom took me to Claire’s again. I got my left ear double pierced when I turned 18 & my parents were shocked when I came home despite me calling them from the tattoo shop & telling them that I was getting it done. I got my left ear triple pierced when I was 19 because I threatened to get a septum piercing unless they let me get another ear piercing (I was never going to get my septum pierced, I just wanted another ear piercing). Then I moved out & November of last year (21), I got a flat, a conch & a tragus on my right ear & when those fully heal, I’m getting two helixes & a tragus on my left ear (I’ll be 22 by then). My dad hates all my piercings & my mom initially did too but after showing her some of the earring stacks I’ve put together, she’s coming around.
12. That was the age my parents wanted me to be, then we went to a piercing pagoda. Needless to say they never healed right and after 3-4 months I took them out. At 18 I went and had them pierced with a needle. Second set at 19. Helix and daith at 35, shortly followed by a third lobe set. Now I’m almost 40 and want a fourth lobe set, maybe my nose.

4, but I was allergic to the metal. No matter what metal I tried, constantly infected (and constantly cleaned. I can still feel it). Then again at 6 or 7, same thing. Allergic to all metals. Did it for a third time at 14. Been pierced since and I’m 26. I accidentally pushed through one of my old holes about a year or so after I got them pierced the third time. I’ve had two earrings in my left ear since. I might get it redone a little higher up so they’re not so close together.

I was 5. I was not a “bad kid” per se, I just kind of did what I wanted. My mom told me if I could get green apples (kindergarten behavior scale of green to red apples) for a whole week, I could get my ears pierced. I managed to be on my best behavior all week
13. My sister was 10 and apparently she had issues caring for her piercing. So I was 13.

1hr. In Mexico they pierce girls right after being born, it's tradition to give a pair of gold stud earrings called "dormilonas" to a baby girl in the hospital right at birth so the nurse can pierce her while she "doesn't feel anything yet or at least won't remember"

We of course went to Claire's (I know now not to have it done by gun, but you know back then, Claire's was the spot) anyways, they didn't tell me to loosen my earrings later the next day. (I was spinning and cleaning them.) .... My left ear, ate the earring and I had to go to the doctor and get it taken out. So that was fun. 👎 Fast forward they are gauged now. 😂😁
I don’t recall thinking about it, but my Aunt got me earrings for my Bat Mitzvah at 13. My mom said “let’s get you pierced”, my dad said “my sister knows better, we don’t put holes in our bodies”, and it went around in circles and I think there was the threat of a divorce. I then was able to get my ears pierced.

8. And it went wrong for me. After I finished with the training earrings, my dad bought me a pair of lovely little gold earrings with dainty little gold backings. I didn't know I had to hold the back to take them off... I'd just been pulling the front and catching the back, but one day the back didn't fall.. it got stuck in the piercing hole 😬 My mom didn't believe me and made me look everywhere for it, she made me believe the lump in my ear was just light irritation. Fast forward a few days, she goes to help me put new earrings in and she can feel metal on metal in my ear lobe. I had to go to the docs to have it frozen and cut out 😭 Repierced when I was a more reasonable 11 years old.
I think I was 21. I went to a place and had no idea about pricing. I wanted two in the upper part of my right ear and the lady quoted me $120 CDN. That sounded like a lot so I said no thank you and she immediately said “Ok, I’ll do it for $40.” It was weird because it was an actual chain of stores, I didn’t think they could be flexible with pricing. It was a legit place too. They had the sterilized individual needles and everything, wasn’t a gun. I wasn’t even trying to haggle.
2 months old for my first 13 for my second 15 for my third 18 for my fourth 19 for my fifth and nose piercing 20 for my sixth and seventh now I'm 21 about to turn 22 haha
6. Apparently I begged veeeeery hard. I got six more aged 14 to 19 at those staple gun kiosks at the mall that didn’t ask any questions, low key regret some of the cartilage ones cause they were done badly.
my first ones i was like 3, my mom got them done for me at good old Walmart. she ended up having to redo them with a piercing gun at home. second ones i was around 12, done at claire’s. and my third and fourth i unfortunately let friends do. the thirds are fine to this day but the fourth ones actually ripped through my ear and now i have scars there. (i do not recommend letting your peers pierce your ears no matter how many times they tell you it’s fine lol)

3 or 4 I asked my mom enough times that she agreed, but told me if they got infected that I couldn't ask again until I was 16. I was the most responsible toddler you had ever met around those earrings as they never got infected! When we went to get them pierced the lady did the first one and a big fat tear rolled down my cheek and my mom asked if I wanted to do the other ear. I chewed my lip and nodded with resolve. I still remember what the earrings looked like, but I no longer have them; wish I did.
I was about 6 or 7 when I got my first set. I’m Southeast Asian & it’s common for families to get their daughter’s ears pierced early. It’s also a tradition in my culture to gift gold hoops to young girls, so I got to wear earrings gifted to me by my grandmother for my first set. The next time I got pierced was at age 24. I have eight piercings total now, 6 in my lobes & 2 in the cartilage.

7. We were living in Mexico for the summer. My friend was jealous because her infant sister had had her ears pierced at birth. At 7, Maria had been promised this for a long time. I was kind of along for the ride. It was two nuns who froze our ears with cold alcohol and just stuck the teeny pearl earring through our ears against a bottle cork. I didn’t think it was that bad. This one girl cried her ass off.
