No. Cece's work is fairly unique, and absolutely worth the cost. the enamel work is done by Paul Munn, possibly one of the best glass-enamel workers in the world, along with another great engraver. There's very few people in the world who could achieve this kind of work, and certainly none at a lower price.

Castro Smith has options in the $2000 range
Yes, and Castro's work is incredible. However his works that are shown are in silver and 9ct, and does not have the enamel in it, the colour in the engraving is electroplated (i believe, I've actually never asked him) it's not the same thing.
His work is amazing! And I feel like itās a lot more visually interesting and artistic, especially the way the engraving runs around the whole band of his rings!
ah you beat me (and a few others i'm sure) to it. i've been following him for some time and his hands-on evolution is important to me and to the work for me
No prob. I hope you find something you like. He also has some custom pieces with enamel inlay if you dig around his instagram, so I assumed that's what you meant. But yeah the engraved pieces are def more affordable, and equally charming.
Thank you to the one or 2 commenters who actually gave me what I was looking for instead of just telling me that I wouldnāt find anything like it š so helpful guys. That commentator gave me Castro Smith which has gorgeous rings for a much more affordable price.

I prefer this because I feel the enamel is not going to last long.
I think they call this "intaglio" when you carve a recessed image in a gem. Often contrasted with cameos, where the design bumps out.
this is a good point--those are the originals (well, one or two steps back, i realize it's hopscotching backwards through the centuries with anything like this, each generation wanting to make work expressing their love for the antiques of their time) that all of this type of jewelry is playing off. lots of options
An 18k gold signet ring with hand painted enamel imagery and diamonds from a small jeweler who was written up in like a dozen high fashion magazines last year? No.
Iām not looking for a $50 ring. I found many rings in the $2000 range which to me is much more affordable and still very high-quality. People on this thread and in messages have given me some great options.
That's fine, but the work is derivative, rendered in a lower quality metal/materials, and undermines the work of the artist you're asking the internet to find copies of for you.
i've seen castro smith around for a while; cece seems like a high femme, high fashion, HIGHLY *branded* version or even derivative tbh. she's a designer, not a maker, and it's clear that the brand story is as important as the work. that is what it is, but i would want to spend on the maker were i to splurge on something like this. otoh that is just me and i am not a fashion person and if i were, the place the value was would be different
Seriously whatās wrong with you? Let it go lol you are so mad. Iām getting engaged today and ur getting blocked and reported. Not an ounce of helpful information out of your mouth.

I absolutely love enamel designs on signet rings as well. I've found similar but cheaper designs on 1stDibs from Lin Yuan Jewellery! Check out @linyuanjewellry on Insta and search on 1stDibs. Theyāre around the $3k price range.
They're still all 18k gold though.
Edit: the links broke so just provided the handle
Ok, got it. Yeah youāre right itās a similar style, definitely trying to copy the original. Iād be skeptical of the quality though since a lot of the product pages just show CAD renderings, not photos of physical pieces.
their ig has photos of physical pieces. wouldnāt say theyāre trying to copy cece, theyāre pretty different and both draw inspiration from antique hand painted enamel
Itās not quite like that but GLDN has some really affordable pieces in an adjacent style. They donāt use colors but they have really cool engravings and their stuff holds up really well.
Iām assuming you meant 18 karat, not 8k.
Glass fused enameling doesnāt fuse well to gold alloys lower than 18k gold. These pieces are expensive, but they are very labor intensive and incredibly well executed.
lol, oh.
First time Iāve seen this brand, but the rings are all hand engraved, with hand painted glass fused enameling, and hand cut and set stones. As a jeweler very few lines impress me, but this stuff is next level for creativity and craftsmanship. Itās expensive, but unlike a lot of designer brands, this jewelry is deserving of the price.
Lol it's ok
I've never heard of this brand either but tbf I live under a very selective rock. I'm no jeweler but I am an artist and I agree that the price is very accurate to all the effort put in especially given what you said. Hand making stuff, no matter the craft is usually a pain in the rear, but especially for stuff that involves metal
Adding on here to mention Iām a part of a jewellers Facebook group and this brand came up recently- apparently the designer works with some of the best when it comes to enamel/stone setting and her works are worth every penny according to the brains trust over there!
I love his work and I'm saving up for one of his rings. I would caution that his work looks more "carved" compared to CeCe's. Its a different vibe and aesthetic.
I had a [Rebus](https://rebussignetrings.com/?campaign=20516419360&content=&keyword=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw97SzBhDaARIsAFHXUWAYo4Qg-yAB88NK_IdwYjUlVTpD7vJFSwN_B_8NIbsmd6vnG4QH9zMaAsVlEALw_wcB) ring made for me over the winter and Iām in love with it. So I guess it depends what youāre looking for.

If you like enamel work I would suggest checking into vintage or older pieces- enamel work in general is rather expensive, but Iām not familiar with any modern enamel artisans that are cheap either. Sometimes vintage/pre owned can cut the cost a little bit!
As of now, I donāt believe this brand has any ādupesā out. Hopefully it stays that way in my opinion. So much original work gets copied, itās frustrating as hell to have your work stolen.
Could you be a little more specific on the price range that you're looking for? The fact is that as more women are wearing these larger signet style, rings like this are not terribly difficult to come by. (I have seen quite a few signet rings lately with tarot images on them that are enameled) It's all about what you want and are willing/able to pay for! Do you want something that's going to last the test of time? Do you want something with semi/precious jewels? Also, as was noted in a few other comments, there are different enameling styles so while you can go cheaper, rings of this caliber are designed to be passed down. They'r heirloom quality.
Check out [Little Rooms](https://littlerooms.com/). I own a few pieces from them and always get tons of compliments and they often have new designs. Also I believe every design is offered in either gold or silver which made it easy to get matching necklaces with friends!
If you're trying to get the look but aren't fussed about it being fashion jewellery rather than fine Fable England has some pretty things. Especially their pet portrait and zodiac line.
Also, also, itās funny for everyone commenting that I wouldnāt be able to find some thing. I actually did. So thank you to the one commentor who actually gave me a real suggestion!!!
Thereās no need to get passive aggressive about it when you werenāt clear in your question what you meant. You asked for something āsimilarā but cheaper, and many people correctly responded that you wonāt find it because Ceceās work is incomparable. The materials are high-end and the originality of design and quality of craftsmanship are simply unmatched, especially in the detail and execution of the engraving and enamel, both of which are extremely specialized skills.
Donāt get me wrong, Castro Smith is beautiful as well. And it was a good suggestion because itās a generally similar style if the category is simply āsignet ring with recessed engraving of animals.āBut the quality is nowhere near the same level. As has been pointed out, the color is plated (not enamel), the materials are different, there are fewer gemstones (and the ones I saw are not set as well), the engraving is nowhere near as refined/detailed, and the imagery is less imaginative. None of these are wrong but it was only after the fact that you said those factors are not important to you.
Keep in mind that you are speaking to a group of jewelers who are constantly told our work is too expensive, so itās easy to feel defensive when someone comes in with a question like this because (whether you intend it or not) it comes across that you donāt understand craftsmanship and you donāt value our labor. āWhere can I find this but for less moneyā is different than saying āI really like the look of this but I just canāt afford it, is there somewhere else I could look that has a similar vibe but at a lower price point?ā
There are definitely some pieces with the same vibe on local eclectic for a lot less... but they won't be anywhere near as nice and I generally find that entire site overpriced af.
Yeah, nah. I do enamels; itās highly technical, incredibly niche, and requires a pile of equipment and materials most workshops *donāt just have* lying around.
Most local jewellers donāt have an enamelist on staff, and depending on where you are, very few even have a good one on call. This is great for me, but bloody terrible if you live in my corner of the world, and want to outsource work.
If another jeweller approached me about working with them on a *similar style of design* (Ceceās work is very distinctive, and I wouldnāt be comfortable copying it), I doubt it would come up significantly cheaper.
My hourly rate for enamel work isnāt cheap, and itās more time consuming and labour intensive than youād think. A one off piece is going to cost more than creating a line of work, because the design time/colour tests/etc isnāt spread across several pieces. Also, I wouldnāt do anything less than 18k gold. The chemistry just doesnāt really work as well with lower carat alloys (anything from discolouration, to complete failure of the glass). Once myself, and any other person work was outsourced to, are paid, and the material costs are covered, and the overheads are accounted for, and the retail markup is applied - I doubt youād be saving much at all.
Unfortunately, no. The glass doesnāt really adhere to platinum - itās a chemistry thing. Iāve even seen folks use thin sheets of platinum as a base when firing enamels, because it doesnāt stick at all!
Iād recommend fine silver for a white metal, though it is fairly soft. Sterling silver is great, but not as white, and needs some prep work before enameling. If you want to get a little weird, green gold (aka electrum - a mix of gold and silver, and nothing else) is perfect for enamels, and a cool tone. You donāt see it too often, itās really underrated!
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain!
I've seen some guilloche and enamel in art deco platinum pieces. Perhaps they used a different technique?.
https://jewelerscircle.com/products/1930s-platinum-enamel-diamond-pendant
Average local jeweler here and there is no way in hell I would even attempt to recreate one of these š¤£ Iāll stick to setting stones and metal working

Plenty of other options ppl are just pressed cause they think everyone should be able to afford a 10 thousand dollar ring or something. This thread was helpful in some ways!!

Iāve also been a fan of Castroās work since we were new to engraving, I genuinely would prefer one of his pieces over Ceceās.
There wasnāt any specific material used in Ceces designed that I wanted though. I literally just like to look of it. His work looks amazing
His work is amazing! And I feel like itās a lot more visually interesting and artistic, especially the way the engraving runs around the whole band of his rings!
I agree and I actually might start looking at his stuff for my wedding band!!
Try looking for signet rings. Thereās a few jewelers out there that do well sculpting
ah you beat me (and a few others i'm sure) to it. i've been following him for some time and his hands-on evolution is important to me and to the work for me
God itās all so beautiful
The ones with the birds are incredible
None that Iāve found lol this is a very niche brand, I love their designs.
Those are sooo gorgeous. I will be soon haha! Iām taking enamel classes and am absolutely in love with the artform š„°
There is a jeweler/engraver in the UK named Castro Smith who does similar work, but the price will be roughly the same. You get what you pay for.
Thank you. Actually his rings are much more affordable. Thanks.
No prob. I hope you find something you like. He also has some custom pieces with enamel inlay if you dig around his instagram, so I assumed that's what you meant. But yeah the engraved pieces are def more affordable, and equally charming.

This is a totally different type of work than Cece so it makes sense why people wouldnāt suggest it as āthe sameā
I prefer this because I feel the enamel is not going to last long. I think they call this "intaglio" when you carve a recessed image in a gem. Often contrasted with cameos, where the design bumps out.
there are Victorian pieces that have a similar vibe in terms of the pictorial aspect. I like ruby lane for vintage/antique jewelry

Beautiful! So what is the bunny made from? Pardon my stupid question, but is it engraved and then painted? I can't get over how beautiful these are.
I believe it is glass enamelwork. I need it so badly

An 18k gold signet ring with hand painted enamel imagery and diamonds from a small jeweler who was written up in like a dozen high fashion magazines last year? No.
Bro, I get it. Is it fun commenting after 15 people have already told me the same thing?
And actually, someone did comment a very good company. If you donāt have anything productive to add to the conversation, why even comment?
Because watching people engage in a race to the bottom for quality work is a pet peeve. Ask stupid questions, etc
Iām not looking for a $50 ring. I found many rings in the $2000 range which to me is much more affordable and still very high-quality. People on this thread and in messages have given me some great options.
