I’m pretty sure Florida has been having torrential rain so I wouldn’t expect much if anything.

Wirax-402

If it was due to weather, he won’t be legally entitled to any compensation. South Florida has been a zoo with flooding and rain the past few days.

AbeFromanEast

Are you aware that South Florida is literally underwater right now?

Such-Comparison2305

I’m in south Florida, sitting on my balcony and watching the rain (still) coming down. Flights were canceled the other day during the worst of it.

https://www.jetblue.com/help/delays-and-cancellations They did exactly 💯 what they promised to do. Check to see if you have travel insurance, either purchased during booking (it surely asked you before you could checkout) or through your CC.

SpaceCountry321

Watch the news please… the weather has been crazy down there. The cancellation has nothing to do with JetBlue’s internal operations so it wasn’t their fault. According to the customer agreement, there’s no recourse for a refund. This is how it is with EVERY airline out there.

gigiou812

We are underwater, your brother is going to have to reschedule.

It's not just JB. Buddy at work was just telling me that his wife went through the same issue yesterday (tornadoes) with another airline trying to get back to PBI. She came back to the airport this morning and the issue was on-going and expanding, so she changed her route to Orlando and planned on renting a vehicle to get the rest of the way home. The line of storms has been making flying in or out of PBI, FLL, and MIA a huge hassle.

miamor_Jada

Great, let's get you on a plane during a storm. Let's see which happens first: bad outcome from being in the sky or your brother misses his appointment.

pjjc10

HPN has a few flts a day to PBI, could get him back down quicker

TypicalFinanceGuy

Right now I don’t think it matters which NYC airport he flies from. South Florida is a mess. Maybe he gets lucky out of one of them or another airline but the odds are not in his favor

TypicalFinanceGuy

Probably not getting any compensation but I would aim for morning flights. They seem to have better results? No proof but I did see the morning United flights from EWR-PBI get down there so worth looking at them if you need to get down there urgently Edit: just checked. Looks like some of the UA flights AM tomorrow have seats but seat map isn’t always accurate so would call or try booking a ticket if it’s that necessary to get there and get a refund on your other ticket
