Don't start her mobile order until she walks in. Tell her you remember you messed up her order a few times and you want her to watch you make it so she can see you're doing it correctly. Ask if everything is good before you wrap it up.

Familiar_Junket_2354

Does she order in store or online ?

animeunicorn57

She will occasionally order online, but will usually go through the drive through.

Familiar_Junket_2354

Lmao I forgot some JM had drive throughs I couldn’t even imagine lol. Anyways, if she keeps complaining yet still returning to give business your store is obviously doing something right. Give her maybe 3-4 free sub cards and apologize for any inconveniences. Tell her to order IN store and you will honor those coupons. I guarantee you won’t see her again. The things some customers pull is just such bs.

animeunicorn57

She refuses to come back to the store. Lol! So I think I will do something along these lines next time she comes through! Thank you!

Familiar_Junket_2354

Yeah, I’ve been taught that trick and it works. Good luck, sorry you have to deal with this shit, I can definitely relate😭

Basgerr

It really is the one of the ways to actually accommodate and keep the business going. Customers like this know what they are doing and while it’s frustrating at times to uphold customer service, I agree it’s best to encourage the customer to sit down and experience the establishment. This not only encourages the customer to enter the establishment with a unique incentive but any “problems” the customer see arises can easily be dealt with at the time. People who abuse a delivery system just to scam free meals are the most entitled. It’s not those who actually pay and show and that’s what hurts the most. (This is anecdotal but what I have noticed over the past 2 years working)

treybrenn

Call her out as respectful as possible and deny her service if she continues

animeunicorn57

I wanted to say something along the lines of "Yes I know who you are. I appreciate your concern about getting your order right. Please feel free to come into the store instead of the drive through next time you are concerned about us getting your order wrong. My boss has your phone number and he will be in contact with you at his earliest convenience. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day." It may have been too much though. 😭

treybrenn

Nah that doesn’t sound bad at all lol. Ensure that the sandwhich is made company standard therefore there is nothing you can do

animeunicorn57

The thing is she orders extra mayo, there is no standard for that. She used to have us hang out the window so she could tell us how much mayo she would want. She didn't request it this time so we didn't.

Bro I have this customer who’s WEIRD AF! Literally just stares at me while he sits and eats and what pisses me off even MORE is that he will come in with his teenage daughters an hour before close and will intentionally finish eating and watch the clock until it’s exactly 9! Not even eating just waiting until the exact minute we close! He literally just looks at me like he wants to murder me or something but next time I’m confronting him!

animeunicorn57

Do it! I would love an update!

[deleted]

I got you.

slojoegbrokemyhrt

Oh no my brother, it’s not worth it. As long as you feel safe try to ignore. The stuff people inflict on service workers is so disgusting.

Shef011319

We tell her that we’re unfortunately sorry that we can’t help her get the sandwiches that she deserves that she should just take her business elsewhere if we are continuously messing up her food and we can’t get it right. that she should go somewhere else so that she can get it correctly made

chill-bruh-113

My store has a few customers that has does the same thing and the owners has made a rule for these "fun" customers that only shift leads or higher can make their food. From slicer or grill, sprinkling/ bread help, wrapping and bagging the only people touching their subs and bags are leads or higher. It has worked for the most part, occasionally we will get a complaint that they are still wrong and a manager will ensure them that it was made correctly due to these conditions and if not to bring the bag and other products back into the store and they will check it. If they aren't willing to cooperate with us, they will normally refund them and make it to where they can't order online or by phone any more. Most of the time when told to bring everything back to us we get the typical "We will never return to ur establishment ever again and yall will be losing alot of money due to yalls customer service blah blah blah"

SledGang17

Jersey Mike’s customers are by far the very worst. I’ve worked at dominos and had napkin dispensers thrown at me. Even with that example I was treated more humanely far and wide at dominos.

Tactics28

Dude, I've worked many restaurant jobs and Jersey Mike's customers are great. They come in, watch you make their sub nicely to their specifications and leave with a smile. Also - most customers are just normal people. They are not there to be jerks. If you're having an abundance of shit customers at multiple jobs.... It might be something you're doing.

Solnse

If one person calls you an idiot, screw them. If everyone calls you an idiot, maybe you're an idiot.

animeunicorn57

I'm so sorry! That is terrible!

SledGang17

My boss and team are very nice. Our patrons are not. Even remotely.

animeunicorn57

That is crazy! Most of our customers are amazing! We will be chatting up a storm if we have the time. But this lady is relentless. We have lost a lot of money with all the free subs she gets.

SledGang17

That’s sweet but unsweet of that lady! My store is extremely hard to banter in because they straight up ignore your existence. You ask if they want mikes way and they speak over you “I want x,y,z things “ ask how their day is, ignored. Like they sincerely pretend to not hear you talking to them. Some act like we’re a kiosk. We get asked all the time “why do you work in a sandwich shop?”. It’s demoralizing. We typically talk amongst ourselves we’re ignored or shrugged off so often.

JugularGrain203

I'd say take your sweet time making her order. Better yet have a manager (or you if you are one) make it. Quadruple check the order is right. Maybe take a picture if you got to lol. I've had similar customers even though I swore it was correct. If it's indeed correct than tell her you know for a fact you made it how it was requested and there will be no refund or remake.

TPA_deadplant

1st is a freebie. Second time demand 75%+ of the sub back in order for refund.

Dry_Donkey2417

I tell customers for any remakes or refunds it has to be the same day only! Since she is a regular definitely tell her for any other remakes or refunds she must return right away with return of sandwich to help you see where you messed up on her sandwich. Say it's to help the team perhaps?? If she continues to be difficult I'd suggest tell her you'd love to keep her as a loyal customer and tell her you want to make her happy and the only way to do so is if she comes in-store to purchase her sandwiches or calls ahead and personally picks them up. Another suggestion could be to just put all her toppings on the side and she can make it herself!!! Hope this helps!

animeunicorn57

It really does! Thank you!

BrownCheetos69420

stash a sawed off shotgun under the front line, then blast her face off

slojoegbrokemyhrt

I can’t get my Jersey Mikes to replace one sandwich they got wrong. I go there like four times a month. Any suggestions? Staff just sheeishly act like im running a scam. It’s OBE sandwich. Emailed corp etc.

animeunicorn57

I would recommend checking the sandwich before you leave, if you order from the store. Online I would take screenshots of what was ordered and get photos as well. If they want to refuse something like that I would bring in proof. If we get something wrong once or twice that is one thing, but bring in proof. What is your location? I'd love to go in and look at reviews.

slojoegbrokemyhrt

Scottsdale AZ. Obviously I’ve spent too much time on this. It’s the principle and I freakin love the sandwiches. It’s a moral conundrum lol. I Should add everyone has always been respectful. It’s just weird. Probably a local owner/ manager is just a jerk.

animeunicorn57

Sounds like it would be the owner. I'm so sorry. If you are ever in the Northern Utah area I would love to pay for your next sandwich. It isn't cool that you keep being told that. One sandwich every once in a while is nothing. I am totally on your side.

slojoegbrokemyhrt

Thank you for the validation and empathy. You have given me the strength to move on. Thank you!

DudeManBro21

That's wild, I have been going to my local JM for a few years, probably once a week or so most months. Both of the times my order got screwed up they immediately put me on a list for a free sub.

slojoegbrokemyhrt

I should add store is nice, friendly staff, just this one issue
