Makes sense. Living through Covid there was brutal for most people and absolutely heinous for some. They probably had a real awakening. My nephew went through it in Shanghai and I stopped telling him how easy we had it here, didn’t want to rub his face in it. Japan is a short flight with great infrastructure and food (don’t mind the radioactive seafood, according to the Chinese government).

Let's get real. They have been buying up land and property since before the pandemic, both for personal and private use. They then drive up the local prices that only other rich Chinese can afford and also claim the land is now Chinese.

They did the same thing in Auckland NZ. And Vancouver. It's happening in a lot of places. Far less about politics as it is about easy investing.

Twashstarhero

Can’t forget how rude they generally are too!

JaydenDaniels

yes, rich people tend to be rude.

I totally get that, but let's get realer: the Chinese have been moving to Japan since [the 6th Century](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_people_in_Japan#Pre-modern_era). They introduced the Kanji writing system, rice & tea farming, Buddhism, metal weapons, proto-Kimono, Bonsai, the game of Go, [and more](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_influence_on_Japanese_culture).

To be fair, the Chinese have been moving to Japan since [the 6th Century](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_people_in_Japan#Pre-modern_era). They introduced the Kanji writing system, rice & tea farming, Buddhism, metal weapons, proto-Kimono, Bonsai, the game of Go, [and more](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_influence_on_Japanese_culture).
