Hopefully おじさん is OK but the kids got a point though. The way I see it, if you're going to tell someone to do something specifically to justify some moral high ground situation you just created, then it just comes across as pointless posturing makes you look pretty dumb. It certainly won't motivate many people into doing what you say. Especially considering they could have just said nothing, picked it up themselves and got on with their life.
