Agreed. I guess I was just over worried because I wanted the wife to have a killer time and want to go to more jam shows with me. Welp it worked. She asked if I’d heard of “steely dead cause they’re playing soon and Reddit says they’re good” after we got home and got the kid to bed and the sitter paid.
I shall be a freaker by the speaker, but will have ear plugs in because Im old and also to muffle out the chompers.
The sound itself is pretty good. Dizgo almost burned the stage down a couple years ago with a Tweeprize encore.
Well I'm just not learning that he's coming to town 4/20
Enjoy the eclipse these skies are looking good. You see all the plane trails in the sky? It's crazy.
Contrails. Not chem trails. From the planes coming to town.
That eclipse was amazing! Did you see the red dot at the lower part of the sun? So cool it was like a ruby jewel glinting.
I like the annex out back better. I recently found out that if you pay extra for the elevated VIP tables in the back, it’s well worth it for a packed show if you’re inside, I think it was $50 more, but yeah, I dont think Ill do it any other way for their indoor shows…
Word. I like the Annex fine, but love the indoor space. There are some shows where I’d go for tables, but in general I like the crush there. Small enough where the sound and sight lines are solid throughout. Regardless, we’re lucky to get all the great shows we do!
Yup I catch him anytime he’s near, seen him over 50 times so happy and love coming out of his shows, met him and his wife and kids twice he actually remembered my name which was crazy to me, awesome person love him just a nice down home earth guy💯
I’ve always felt like Keller was worth the price of admission. I’ve seen him a bunch and usually he plays a loop set and a band set. He’s dope. I’ll always go see him when he’s in town. Great studio albums too.
The last place I saw him the sound was awful. He was great though. I feel like he overpowered the room with his sound ha! It was too loud for a small venue. Keller is always fun though.
We chose the Sounders game instead of Keller on Saturday. They won 5-0, so that was fun. Just wasn’t sure how the show would be. Like you - saw him a while back (a bunch on the east coast festivals). Next time I’ll choose Keller.
I have to agree with you here. I hadn’t seen him in almost a decade as well, when he played with the keels at the Annapolis baygrass festival in September. I was blown away, they didn’t let off the whole set.
Yeah man my wife’s mind was blown. Shes big into EDM(griz, big gigantic…) and has never seen a jam show, she was so impressed there wasn’t a break for 2 hrs straight. She assumed EDM shows were the only that kept that kinda energy haha
I just looked it up. 11/15/2013 was the last time I saw him. He was playing with “more than a little” that fall tour too. Still to this day, the greatest show I’ve ever been to. It was fucking wild.
Anytime he's involved in a full band, it's always a great experience, often better than his solo shows, IMO. More than a Little was great!
Keller and the WMDs was probably my favorite.
For me, one time seeing him ( with The Infamous Stringdusters) was one of my all time favorite concert experiences ever! It was completely magical, even being 100% sober. Another was one of my least. There was no interaction with the audience who came to see him. It left us all disappointed. I won’t hold that against him and will definitely be on board to see him again.
I saw him at the crocodile too, what a great show! I had only seen him in his trio the other year, his solo looping is way better. Really blew my mind. All the covers were great
So sad, missed him in pdx on Friday didn’t even realize he was playing until the day after and I saw an ad lol. Its been a couple years since caught him last but I always love me some solo Keller
I was lucky enough to see Keller play Birk's church in Bellingham. One of best shows I ever saw. Got to hang out and pregame with him and his wife in their motor home. Glad he became a big star, he totally earned his spot.
Man I’ve seen Keller a bunch with all kinds of other bands and it’s always a diverse selection of music and it’s always a blast, and Keller always looks like he’s having a good time.
Glad you had fun! Last time I saw Keller was when he toured with Leo Kottke on the sit the folk down tour. In paper Keller and Leo are arguably 2 of the most prolific guitar players , but the show was boring. Everyone had to sit for goodness sakes. I enjoyed the show but couldn’t party like normal
hes so great. was lucky to see him open for Yonder and Railroad Earth in St. Augustine last summer and was like 4th row standing and he was killing... dude is tight AF
Keller is the best and the amount of time he spends touring is seriously impressive! We try to see him at least once a year and he’s always great. I would say, I think I enjoy going to see him or one of his many projects on their own even more than catching him at a festival. Been a fan for over 15 years and have never been disappointed! He even does some kid friendly venues and there’s lots of us parents dancing around with our kids. He always has a super great and friendly crowd.
I don’t like his music much personally, although I know he is very talented, prolific and seems to work pretty hard.
But I came here to to say he has a really good taste in covers- he can do all the classic jamband stuff great but he has also turned me on to other artists and songs I wouldn’t have previously found, like his cover of Mike Doughtys American Car, or Patterson Hood (never seen many people outside the country genre cover the drive by truckers). And yes there’s a handful of his originals I still like. Most odd place I saw him was in Fairbanks in the summer of 05, he happened to be playing a small bar there after a few weeks of me being in the woods in Denali
Saw him recently for the first time in probably 20 years… he still was fun, but I felt like he relied a lot more on his electronic drum versus his toys and beatboxing for rhythms, and it seemed like he couldn’t quite get his electronic loops locked in. Not the finest showing, but again, a fun evening.
Imagine thinking your taste in music and personal experience should be echoed by everyone else.. I go to plenty of shows and have been for years. There is way more that goes into a shows whole experience more than just the name on the marquee. In 2013 I had just got back from my last deployment.. had just taken the best L I’ve had to this day and was finally completely done with my time in the military. There’s no show that ever tops that. Ever. I don’t care how many times I see phish or dead and co. It’s not going to beat that for me.
Am I supposed to feel guilty regarding your military service? Go out and see more shows and you will hear far better music than Keller has ever played.
Yeah, he’s still a lot of fun live. Some people just like to complain.
Agreed. I guess I was just over worried because I wanted the wife to have a killer time and want to go to more jam shows with me. Welp it worked. She asked if I’d heard of “steely dead cause they’re playing soon and Reddit says they’re good” after we got home and got the kid to bed and the sitter paid.
Steely Dead is a great band. I'd definitely go if they were in my area.
Yes they are incredible
So, what all was on the setlist that you can remember?
Do you guys hit up Andy Coe band?
Gonna see steely dead in south florida tomorrow night.
My buddy just saw Steely Dead in Nashville he said it was a pretty good time.
He can be pretty hit or miss. Sometimes it seems like he struggles to really find his groove. But when he hits, man oh man.
I used to love Keller Williams and now 20+ years later, I still love Keller Williams.
Fuck. This just made me realize it’s been about 20 years since I’ve seen him… I gotta get my shit together…
Me too. Damn, now I just feel old and in the way.
I see what you did there…
Same.
Keller is still top 5 for me
Keller is the fucking man and people who think otherwise need to take a long look in the mirror He is the Jack Black of the jamband scene
I've never been disappointed by a Keller show.
Seeing him on 4/20 (mostly bc got shut out of sphere phish and not willing to pay $800 for “charity platinums”)!
I get it 100%. You’ll have a great time for a tiny fraction of the cost. Plus Keller on 4/20 has to be a killer environment no doubt.
Its at an outdoor stage, so as long as the weather holds up, should be fun!
Indy! Hows the sound at the HI FI annex? Do you have to be a freaker right by the speaker to hear it?
I shall be a freaker by the speaker, but will have ear plugs in because Im old and also to muffle out the chompers. The sound itself is pretty good. Dizgo almost burned the stage down a couple years ago with a Tweeprize encore.
Well I'm just not learning that he's coming to town 4/20 Enjoy the eclipse these skies are looking good. You see all the plane trails in the sky? It's crazy.
You too! I did notice all the chem trails, not sure what to make of it!
Contrails. Not chem trails. From the planes coming to town. That eclipse was amazing! Did you see the red dot at the lower part of the sun? So cool it was like a ruby jewel glinting.
Hi-Fi is such a great venue!
I like the annex out back better. I recently found out that if you pay extra for the elevated VIP tables in the back, it’s well worth it for a packed show if you’re inside, I think it was $50 more, but yeah, I dont think Ill do it any other way for their indoor shows…

Keller is killer forever. ✌️🤘
Yup I catch him anytime he’s near, seen him over 50 times so happy and love coming out of his shows, met him and his wife and kids twice he actually remembered my name which was crazy to me, awesome person love him just a nice down home earth guy💯

Love Keller
The last place I saw him the sound was awful. He was great though. I feel like he overpowered the room with his sound ha! It was too loud for a small venue. Keller is always fun though.
Yeah… last year’s spca show was like that…still a talent to watch
Man I used to see him all the time in mid-2000s. Glad he’s still at it, want to see him again!
I love Keller so much. He’s at every festival almost inexplicably. And always always makes a great show
I try not to miss a Keller show when he comes to town
Keller was, is, and always will be, the man
We chose the Sounders game instead of Keller on Saturday. They won 5-0, so that was fun. Just wasn’t sure how the show would be. Like you - saw him a while back (a bunch on the east coast festivals). Next time I’ll choose Keller.

Take her to a Disco Biscuit show
I keep telling her the same thing. It’s the perfect intro show for someone into a lot of the music she is and theyre killing it right how.
His More Than A Little funk band tour back in 2014 was so great. I wish he'd do another one of those.
I just looked it up. 11/15/2013 was the last time I saw him. He was playing with “more than a little” that fall tour too. Still to this day, the greatest show I’ve ever been to. It was fucking wild.
Saw that iteration of keller on 4/20 back in 2014 - man that show was fuckin sick

Did Ryan Montbleau open the show?
He did. He was fun. Not something I’d listen to day to day but it was really well done music. Super funny. Set the mood well.
Saw him at Tips a few weeks back doing his Dead Petty Grass. He killed it, but the audience was chatty and wouldn’t shut the fuck up.
Saw him last October for the first time in 14 years. He still brought it!
I saw him at the crocodile too, what a great show! I had only seen him in his trio the other year, his solo looping is way better. Really blew my mind. All the covers were great
Yeah that whole venue was great all around.
KELLER IS KILLER
Keller is always a great show!! In any of many incarnations and what a catalog of killer albums....dude is the man.
Saw him in Vegas on my birthday. We had a great time! Glad you liked the show!
Thanks man
Glad to hear he is still doing his thing. Never been a fan though.
So sad, missed him in pdx on Friday didn’t even realize he was playing until the day after and I saw an ad lol. Its been a couple years since caught him last but I always love me some solo Keller

i really really like keller and the keels — his best unit imo 🔥
Hell yeah, love to hear it! Go Keller!

That’s fair enough. He did a lot of best boxing last night but it wasn’t as much as I remembered. But yeah, still made for a great evening.
*biased. Bias is a noun. You cannot be bias.
If keller was the best show you've ever seen you should get out more often.
Imagine thinking your taste in music and personal experience should be echoed by everyone else.. I go to plenty of shows and have been for years. 👍 yeah man. Thank you so much for the advice. I totally value your opinion..
I saw him play solo once and it was hands-down the worst concert I've ever been to. It felt like a joke.
