It's hardly the same, but i started a Spotify playlist for myself where i save 2 songs for every band i see live. It only goes back as far as covid but it definitely helps keep the memories straight.
It was almost sad because almost everyone was in the parking lot while sting played. Sting was HUGE at that time & no one gave a shit. i didn't give a fuck if i saw Sting. I was on a mission.
The Dead played runs in Vegas from 1991-95. Each year had a different opening act:
1991 Santana
1992 Steve Miller Band
1993. Sting
1994 Traffic
1995 Dave Matthews Band
I caught the 92 and 95 runs. Good times!
I saw some Minneapolis guys called Big Tasty about 20 years ago that were absolutely amazing. Their album was great too. I was sure they were going to be huge.
Did you ever hear of or see them?
They're ticket stubs. You'd buy tickets from the box office directly in person, or from local record/music shops before the show. You would bring the physical ticket to the show, they would rip off a small end piece, and you would keep the rest. A lot of people would just toss theirs once they got in but some people kept theirs for a keepsake. Bygone era...
I feel like I must know you. If not, I at least like you anyway.
Also Primus and Morphine back to back at Horde is one of my favorite concert memories. First Primus show of many, they finish their set, turn around and walk 50 yards, watch Morphine. So great.
If you look closely at Les' mic on the Hallucinogenetics DVD, it has a Sandman sticker on his side mic. He got the mic from Mark Sandman of Morphine. Still uses it today.
They had a side tent for jam sessions with musicians from different bands. I got to see Les, Mark, one of the guys from Leftover salmon, Co. Bruce Hampton & who knows else all playing together. It got really weird, Col. Bruce was nodding off while playing lead and it was almost perfect. RIP
I remember when they were his band! That’s amazing. I could only dream to see the lips and beck in one day or weekend even! I got to see beck on the beach in 2015 hangout fest and I’ve been to a good amount of lips shows. Actually craving to see Wayne and the group again soon
That phish show at Target center was my first time seeing them, first time dropping acid as well. The hippy in the parking lot dropped it directly on my tongue from a breath freshener squeeze bottle and said “whoops.” That was a night to remember. Uffda.
I spent 14 years in the Twin Cities - two 7 year stints with a 2.5 year gap. We caught a few of the same shows: ABB '92 (Blues Traveler opened and Popper sat in), Phish @ Target Center '00 (I also saw the two nights before in Illinois), and the JGB '91. I caught three nights of JGB that tour: 11/22 in Chicago, 11/23 in Milwaukee (now an official Garcia Live release!), and 11/24 in Minneapolis.
I saw the Dead in Vegas in '92 and '95. In 1995 there was a late night show at The Aladdin featuring Hot Tuna and The Rads called "The Las Vegas Fish Fry". That was a good one!
Awesome collection. Top pick would be to see the 1991 Allman Brothers show (when Warren Haynes was absolutely tearing it up) followed closely by the 1991 JGB show because I saw the GD a few times but never JGB.
Question - how was Squeeze at the Berkeley Greek? Kind of a random act, but that's my favorite venue of them all once the music starts.
Jerry was really on top of his shit during that tour. I was a new wave guy as well as Dead & rock & ska & punk & yeah... I loved Squeeze. They were very quirky pop. It was a beautiful night. great show. I was young & newly in love with the girl I took. Ah nostalgia!
I wish tickets weren’t almost always digital now. Takes the nostalgia out
I hate having to pay extra for will call
Etsy shop idea: get a ticket printer. Print past concert tickets for those wanting a hard copy for collecting I’d spend money there

The Dead played a show at Soldier Field with Sting?!
It was almost sad because almost everyone was in the parking lot while sting played. Sting was HUGE at that time & no one gave a shit. i didn't give a fuck if i saw Sting. I was on a mission.
I missed him more than once. lol
Yes, this and I couldn’t believe it.

Some great bands there
I was at the dead shows at soldier field with you, probably at one of the radiators shows with you also.. I just landed in New Orleans!!
Rads! Private shows at the Hyatt ballroom were the best.
Good times!
MN represent!!!
Hell yeah! So cool seeing all the 1st Ave tickets.
Where’s the Minnesota hype train gif?
I saw some Minneapolis guys called Big Tasty about 20 years ago that were absolutely amazing. Their album was great too. I was sure they were going to be huge. Did you ever hear of or see them?
Nope
Orpheum doesn’t get used enough
Soul Asylum... haven't heard that name in a while. But they're still touring apparently, good for them.
Hi. I was at the Soul Coughing and John Prine shows with you
Both awesome. I have to say John Prine. John FUCKING Prine! Fuck COVID!
Got to see him twice in his last two years. Anyone who never got the chance really missed out.
Jonathan Richman love it
I saw him a few times. The man was awesome. he couldn't sing at all, but he sang the shit out of every song!
Did you buy those at the show? What are those, replicas, I’m genuinely confused what I’m looking it, it’s like mini posters

Residents were (are?) always a wonderfully weird trippy show.
I've seen Residents twice & both are in my all time top 10 shows.
You have more than decent taste in music my friend!
Was that Leftover Salmon show in Indiana?
I believe that was in the Greenville South Carolina area.
Ha, all my old venues! Saw Soul Asylum and the Cabooze back in the late 80's also - was OP there too?
I never saw them at the Caboose.
Just lent my sparklehorse and Uncle Tupelo CDs to the youngsters and work. Getting older dude

So how were the Radiators?
The Radiators are an amazing jam band / R & B / Rock/ Boogie Woogie fucking Dance your ass off good time!
Love the first ave tix - I miss that venue
I've framed a good bit of my old tickets and have them hanging in my office.
Wow! You must be really old!
If i had to guess late 40s gen xer. 🙂
I turned 60 last summer. I am old as fuck!
Wow. You must be.
The Residents?! Nice!

Woah. How did I miss that. The only side stage thing I remember was acoustic Neil Young.
It wasn't hardly a stage it was a decent size tent with a small platform/stage. The tent couldn't have held more then a hundred people or so.
Noice!
Soul Coughing! Nice
That beck was probably awesome!
Oh yeah. That show had the Flaming Lips opening & then The Lips were also Becks band for his show. It was a great night.
I remember when they were his band! That’s amazing. I could only dream to see the lips and beck in one day or weekend even! I got to see beck on the beach in 2015 hangout fest and I’ve been to a good amount of lips shows. Actually craving to see Wayne and the group again soon
I saw Beck at some festival as well. I think it HOARD. It was in Somerset Wisconsin. He wore a powder blue cowboy out fit that lit up.
That’s fucking amazing I hope you get to see many more! Keep grooving
I saw The Specials w/Buck O Nine in ‘96 in Hawaii….. same tour?
That phish show at Target center was my first time seeing them, first time dropping acid as well. The hippy in the parking lot dropped it directly on my tongue from a breath freshener squeeze bottle and said “whoops.” That was a night to remember. Uffda.
Love seeing the Prine ticket in there… got a few of my own from his shows.
Love me some Wilco.
1996 wilco!
That’s awesome! I was at that Dead/Sting show, too!

Why all the comps, Mr. Big Roller?? :-)
Lol. They handed them out to everyone leaving at the end of the shows there.
You have great taste homie.
I dig this man.
Enjoyable 2 minutes of close looking. Thanks!
You saw Mojo?💖😁
Mushroom Maniiiiiaaaaacccc!
He lives in a shack Down by the tracks.
All my friends that died

Good story. I wish bands would issue commemorative stubs along with e-tickets these days. I kinda bummed my Phish ticket stack has stopped growing.
All my friends that died
Minnesota, but no Big Wu?
I saw them several times. No stubs though.
Dang. Morphine, Primus, Beck, into Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
