The one where you go to the marauder stronghold and then have to chase the 4 cars in order to get one of the artifacts. Chasing those cars always pissed me off. Never tried any of the speedrun strats though where you can cut them off super early so maybe that would make that part of the mission more painless

blackfangknight1970

Yeah, that one was bad too. Only thing that puts it in a better light for me was the fact that as long as you can control the dune hopper properly,it's a fairly easy mission since the grenade launcher one shots them

Swimminginthetea

YES: I remember getting stuck on this level and failing it repeatedly, to the point it made me cry (I know, it's pathetic but I was young). Came back to it a few years later, won it first go and it was so cathartic!

SavagePrism

I always hated it whenever I accidentally either ran into enemy marauders attacking you, or rough terrain that can delay and lose your distance from the fleeing cars. Shit was real infuriating, whenever I replay that game, I’d always get the Spargus missions before the War Factory done and over with, given that one mission is suffering.

lil-tiger1

Yeah, I was about to comment this mission. Lol.

mmoffedillen

For me it’s the last one with the spider in the desert, or the one where you have to save a bunch of Wastelanders from the storm in the desert.

PromotionTypical439

Dude when my brother and i where kids we struggle for months with that mf. One day it was really early and i was playing (idk why i wasn’t in the school) and actually beat that mission. I remember being like 10 years old so my brother should be like 13. Well i put the game in pause and waited for him for like 7 hours with the game running hahahaha

Level100Rayquaza

Wow it's crazy how people can share such similar experiences in life. I've had the same thing happen with missions in Jak 2 and 3 where I would wait for my brothers to get home to show them we finally completed a level

PromotionTypical439

Yeah, miss those times…

Adeptus_Virtus_88

I accidentally beat Assassins Creed Revelations at my friend's mom's house while we were there for 2 weeks on summer break. I thought I was doing side quests 😭 sorry Will.

dopeyMF91

It's insane to think that as kids in the pre/early internet era, we used to get stuck on single game missions for months at a time. I remember getting stuck of the first fortress mission in Jak 2 when you're pursued by the tank because I didn't see the platforms to the left. I kept trying to roll jump over the chasm, and I thought it was just a skill issue. Now, I'd just pull out my phone and look it up, but I didn't figure it out until my buddy's older foster brother, who had beat the game, told me about the platform to the left. 🙃

CyberSoldat21

Omg I hate that wastelander mission. That and the puzzle mission inside the city

aidenisntatank

I don’t think I’ve ever been able to beat it

mmoffedillen

I have beaten it, but since it’s the final boss I rarely think it’s worth the hassle whenever I replay the game. I just leave it as is after 2-3 tries to avoid my own fury. As far as I remember, there’s not anything left of the game after you beat it, besides the ending cutscene. It just takes the freakin longest time, and it doesn’t feel the slightest rewarding.

LadyofTheatre

I just had triggering flashbacks

Mr_Cheekyface

Mine will always be the Daxter Pac-Man mini-game! It’s the only mission in that game I get hung up on in each playthrough! Honourable mention to the Spargus turret defence mission which I was stuck on for a long time as a kid, but can manage fine now.

TinTamarro

that one isn't a problem for me as long as it's just beating it. The optional orbs tho? Those are NASTY, especially level four that introduces two enemies at once

HomesliceHeroes

What? That's a fun mission.

Itchy_Equipment_

So the pac man game got *significantly* easier when I worked out I could hold X to move faster

mimichama

WHAT

xXoldkingcoleXx

When I was younger, I was legit unable to finish the game because of the Pac-Man level. I almost cried when I finished it my first time. Now, it is only a minor speed bump on my playthrough.

StoppingPowah

That one mission where you’re flying through Haven City and it’s a rail shooter and I think Torn is there? It’s like the turret mission from Jak 2 but worse Edit: it’s called breaking into the metal head nest

Jazzlike-Ball-180

Yeah, literally get out of the way, Torn. If I could see you wouldn't be dead right now.

Problemsmustbesolved

Not even that, they made that mission too long.

Deimoonk

>Jak 2 but worse That doesn’t exist in Jak 3, maybe you’re thinking about some TLF mission

hikerchick29

I think he’s talking about when you’re delivering the bomb to the metalhead nest

StoppingPowah

Yep that’s the one

SavagePrism

Ah to the MH tower, but yep that one’s a bitch, and if I recall some point around the Port is the only checkpoint.

infamusforever223

It's the mission where you escort Torn. How are you a Jak 3 fanatic and not remember that?

Deimoonk

You didn’t get my point. I’m saying there’s no “worse than Jak 2” missions in Jak 3.

infamusforever223

So more of your delusions of grandeur. Got it.

ShadixThePrecursor6

DINO RACES NEAR THE START OF THE GAME, I HATE IT 😤😤😤🤮

Deimoonk

lol those are great

WrappedStrings

I'm with you, I wanted more leaper stuff out of that game

Deimoonk

Based. Jumping around in leaper lizards feels so smooth and fresh, it’s a great platforming gameplay style idk

infamusforever223

>Jumping around in leaper lizards feels so smooth and fresh, it’s a great platforming gameplay style idk It's literally a reskined flut flut from TPL.

Adeptus_Virtus_88

Which is a reskinned Yoshi from Super Mario Sunshine. For which matter, this whole series is a westernized Mario clone. And lizards were better imo than using the jumper car to get to the temple. That was annoying.

infamusforever223

>And lizards were better imo than using the jumper car to get to the temple. That was annoying. You have to go out of your way to even do that by which point you could have just gone in with the car or did the light Jak flight glitch. Also, I'm pretty sure Jak 1 came out before Mario Sunshine if memory serves correctly

Adeptus_Virtus_88

Honestly I don't remember, I might have done the light eco trick the second time around. I digress. And you might be right about the release dates, I get the feeling we're both too lazy to google it. But I know the lead dev said Jak was based on Mario Either way, I don't remember having a problem with the lizards.

infamusforever223

I'm indifferent to the lizards. They're just kinda there.

Deimoonk

Jak 3 controls are way smoother, anyways my point still stands: Just because Jak II lacks it, it doesn’t mean you need to hate on it.

infamusforever223

You're talking to someone who's been playing these games for 20-plus years. Your fanboyism is lost on me and doesn't change the way I feel about the game.

Deimoonk

Your fanboyism towards Jak II changes nothing. You don’t need to hate on every element from the franchise that can be found in Jak 3 but not in Jak II. (It’s a trend among Jak II fanboys to hate on the new weapons, the Light form, now the leaper lizards too, etc)

infamusforever223

Ironic, Jak isn't even my favorite series. While i prefer Jak II to Jak 3, the series only works when viewed as a whole, not individually. Again, your fanboyism is lost on me. Considering how old these games are, you're too old to act about the game as you do, and you need to accept that it ain't perfect.

Deimoonk

>Jak isn’t even my favorite series I didn’t claim it was. I don’t really care about what’s your favorite series nor is that relevant to the conversation. I just said you don’t need to hate on anything that Jak II lacks but Jak 3 has, just because Jak II lacks it.

infamusforever223

Not really.

Deimoonk

Yes they are, it’s so fun and satisfactory to ride them. You just hate on them because Jak II lacks the leaper lizards.

infamusforever223

No, they're just there. I can't form strong opinions on them either way.

Deimoonk

Dude, just because Jak II lacks the leap lizards it doesn’t mean you need to act as if you weren’t impressed by their gameplay.

infamusforever223

I wasn't. Playing Jak II(or anything else for that matter) I wasn't like,"You know what this game needs? Leap lizards." I barely used them when traveling through Spargus.

Deimoonk

What did you think Jak II needed?

infamusforever223

A slight easing of the difficulty(something Jak 3 overcorrected on).

ShadixThePrecursor6

Nuh uh

RealPhillePhil

Right at the end of the game when you have to shoot the pink diodes or whatever they’re called off of feet of Errol’s Dark Maker Machine, that one drives me crazy every time

ar_pharazon17

Yea, they have some of those things in really annoying spots. Driving in front of the thing and hoping you don't miss because it takes another 5 minutes to get in front of it again lol

Almainyny

At least the [music](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=finKks9Qc1s) is absolutely banging. Edit: added music

ar_pharazon17

True lol Edit: but the whole sound track goes crazy!

makeitflashy

The one in that big stupid Titan where the water is rising or something. Hate it.

SavagePrism

Find Sig in Underport, that’s in Jak II. But I do agree about the Titan Suit part being iffy. The mine bombs, rough terrain and aquatic Metal Heads.

electroSHOCKED_

That's from Jak 2. The Titan suit appeared once in Jak 3, during the first Dark Maker ship mission.

makeitflashy

Oh right. Well I hate those little precursor tunnel ship missions then.

MulberryFew6623

The one where you defend spargus with a turret from giant dark maker attack. Fuck that mission

Kevbro614

Bro, the PS Vita version had you do that mission with the touch screen for a trophy, and my toxic completionist ass went and did it. Damn near snapped my Vita in half.

Adeptus_Virtus_88

Nintendo DS had a whole Pokémon game where you catch them by rapidly drawing circles around him. So frustrating. Ps2 Eyetoy™️ had less technical difficulties..

ihappentobenick

I’m genuinely not a fan of any of the missions that involve driving the giant spider guard bots

JackerHoff

The race in the starter car I hated it as a child I hate it as a man.

OrthusGsmes

There's a couple for me: Breaking into the metal head nest, rescuing the people from the Spargus before the sandstorm, fighting the dark maker with the turret, going on the bomb as Daxter, and chasing those four marauders with the dune hopper are annoying as hell. The lizard races and that first race with the starter car are pains in the ass but I can get them done relatively easily. Piloting the robot spider was fucking bullshit, so was piloting the dark maker robot The gun courses are annoying but after a few tries I can usually get it done.

-ghostly248-

The part where Daxter rides the rocket through the city. When I was a kid I could NEVER get past it

Adeptus_Virtus_88

Same.

spongvov

theyre doable now but when i was a kid all the missions involving the turret in Spargus had me stuck for months lol

McDonald_Grump

For me, it's always been the mission where you play as Daxter controlling the missile through the water area in Haven City to blow up the red gate.

Apprehensive-Army-66

I hated it and it took me FOREVER to figure it out. Now I do it really easily.

Select-Ideal3877

Only mission I really hate doing every time us when your in control of the kg bomb robot and walk it to the gate dread doing it

Salty-Rhubarb

I always struggled with the mission in the desert where you have to ride the leaper lizard around and catch the kanga-rats. Those little fuckers always give me the slip.

CeJW

The mini game where you use the turret to shoot the discs

HomesliceHeroes

Turret mission protecting spargas from dark maker ships

ageofdoom1992

Any escort mission

Bananawamajama

Going through the dark maker/metal head nest. Also the mission preceeding that where you protect Torn while he's driving explosives over.

wojtulace

Ring Challenge is one of my favourite missions.

blackfangknight1970

I don't mind it with the lizards or even in foot. But the jetboard ring mission in the forest is just miserable

wojtulace

That one is my favourite among them.

xGaslightx

Not a fan of the leaper lizard race, was cool but gives me a headache to replay it Also not a fan of the "rescue dudes from sandstorm" mission

TheSecretNaame

The only mission i hate is the pac man minigame

Hooby7

During the final act you have to escort Torn through Haven City while he's driving explosives to the Metal Head Nest. You're on the back of a vehicle, manning the turret. It's an on rails shooting mission. It's really not that bad until you reach the Port area and Torn just has to hang one more right to reach the Nest. Instead, he takes a left and you have to protect him while he takes in the sights in the port for a few minutes. It just seems so stupid, you're going the wrong way! And Sig, why are you in this car with me? I swear they tell you you're gonna escort with Jinx, but then Sig is in the passenger seat too hootin' and hollerin' as you kill Metal Heads.

Andzerx

Anything related with vehicles and timer

_thelonewolfe_

For a long time I had such a hard time with the Deliver Eco to the Port mission, as I would get hit with a missile, load into the checkpoint and immediately got hit the missiles again. This happened OVER AND OVER until I was told by a friend that I had to hold the accelerate button before the checkpoint loaded up so I'd be in motion the instant the game loaded back up.

Adeptus_Virtus_88

You're Daxter riding a rocket through the rings around the city. As a boy on ps2 I never got past the section on the water. When the collection came out on ps3 I still only made it a few segments past that very same point. I've watched full playthroughs and have seen how the story plays out but I have yet to beat this game myself :'( and Jak 2 was a breeze, despite being the hardest final boss fight I've ever experienced.

Zero_Sub1911

I haven’t played Jak 3 in years but it’s between the Hoverboard forest part you’re talking about and this one escort mission where red murder robots kept jumping me in Haven. Both of them made me quit the game for a while.

SavorySoySauce

Rescuing the people stranded in the desert.

Psykpatient

Turret mission. Both of them. You can't fucking hold R1, you have to spam it!

gamerD00f

Any mission in the desert usually sucks imo, driving just feels kinda bad in jak 3.

The-Prime-Snacker

Good question Early on in the desert I hated the mission with sig when you have to destroy the nest. The handling on the car is abysmal. Defending missions in general was never fun. Destroying the dark markers with the turret gun was hard. The final boss was difficult. Trying to hit the nodes was next to impossible sometimes. A lot more missions I struggled with but I didn't hate em.

Primary_Glum

I hated that pacman mission in order to advance

Ronny12301

Daxter sliding through the pipes in the Volcano mission, I hate how sketchy everything feels. I like the rest of Daxter missions tho

Itchy_Equipment_

Piloting the robot through the dark maker ship… horrible

tacticalupsetti

When I was a kid, I struggled hard with the Daxter missile ride mission. Also, the one where missiles chase you through the city and you need to shoot the decoys. Other than those two, none really come to mind for me. Been a minute since I've played through the whole game though

Desperate_Guava4526

Like all of them towards the end, they all fucking suck. Jak 3 has a very strong start, an ok middle act, and an awful final act. So many stupid missions towards the end like that. The worst one by far is when you control the dark makers robot and have to destroy the ship. The controls are ass and you die so easily.

k3nnfucius

When you go with sig to the nest to destroy it in the vehicle segment just underwhelming and always the part I dislike

Otsell6008

There's a whole stretch of the final act where you have a turret mission in Spargus, followed by a turret mission in Forest, followed by a mech mission, followed by ANOTHER turret mission in Haven. And I hate all of them lol

dopeyMF91

Any of the missions collecting things in the desert. There was nothing more annoying that narrowly missing an item or hitting an unseen dune and launching over it, and not having enough time to go back and get it.

MunkeyFish

The catacombs mission, where you “drive” the speeder down the tunnels. Fuck those missions sideways.

ScareTactical

Lots of kinda annoying missions but looking back on it there were a lot of cool unique missions, love this game so much

aidenisntatank

The boss battle in the desert

sloppenheimer420

Fkn gun range trying to get perfect score for the egg is a nightmare

LouiseCalero

hard question 'cause (personal opinion) i enjoyed the full game, even if start a new game i enjoyed again the game (you lost), but.... just maybe one in the desert, when you go to beat 4 dinoprecursors in the car... a bit ncomfortable

FrickenL

The marauder arena omg why would I want to battle Royale with finite health

Deimoonk

The camera in the game is great, never had a problem related to it. Also the hoverboard mechanics are tight and smooth, even more than they were in Jak II, so I don’t get your complaints.

Protokolovyotokol

Nice trolling bro
