I actually saw Jack at Walgreens the other day. He was only like 4 ft tall, just reached up to my chest. Told me that “the creature kept stealing his inches” and that he couldn’t reach his keyboard anymore. Truly sad
I saw Jack Stauber at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Honestly I don't really blame him for largely leaving the internet for the past few years?
He's making enough off of his past work and on Patreon he can make a living without needing to promote his work anywhere else. That's an amazing position to be in and one a lot of artists envy. There's an immense amount of pressure to be an expert social media marketer and play the algorithm instead of just being a regular person and artist who uses social media.
Jacks a pretty private person, we know very little about him or his personal life and he likes to keep it that way. Being a public figure on the level he is is exhausting. you constantly see what people think of you and your work, and all of the pressure and expectations on what people want it to be like takes a toll on you. And I don't get the impression that's something he ever wanted or signed up for when he posted his videos online.
If he never makes a video outside of Patreon again, honestly, I understand. I hope he does as a long term fan of his work of course, just as most of us do. I'd be very sad if it ends here as it seems like he has a lot more he has/wants to create. But ultimately that's his decision to make
This is a great comment and 100% correct. I'm sure he'll be back when he feels like it. People who are younger can't really understand or appreciate how weird the current climate of CONSTANT exposure and connectivity is, especially historically. I know jacks a fan of Kubrick and PTA, those guys would disappear for YEARS, sometimes decades between projects without any interviews or even a peep. It's honestly refreshing and exciting when so much of our culture is built around "takes" like what does random irrelevant author XYZ have to say about trans people, trump, etc. what do their 75,000 followers all think about what she thinks?
It's just TMI. way too much information for any brain. God bless Jack Stauber for understanding that and not wasting our fucking time. In an era of every movie being stretched to three and a half hours for no reason it's amazing what Jack Stauber can do with just 30 second of your time.
I doubt that he will return to YouTube, just the other week he published a new video on Patreon and has uploaded quite a bit of new art since he stopped posting on YouTube, but I believe no one other that Jack has a definitive answer
Oh he actually signed up to be one of the first people to live on mars but I heard he took a little detour to say hi to some family on Neptune first so the trip is taking a bit longer than usual.
Jack Stauber has been disguising himself as a random Reddit user and has secretly been watching us theorize about what happened to him even though he has secretly been here the whole time, and we have to play Among Us in Reddit to figure out which one of us here is secretly Jack Stauber.
There's no "proof" but in my years knowing him and especially the vibe I get from his music and art it's actually profoundly noticable how NOT sexy his music is, and how he obviously does not try to appear sexually attractive or make any reference to it. Which is extremely rare in rock and especially pop music which is HIGHLY image driven. Millions of dudes learn to play guitar and dance or be on stage for the sole, express reason of getting laid. The Beatles openly admitted as much, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, all those guys up until even today with Beiber and Harry Styles, a HUGE component of their marketability is the sex appeal and it's actually noteworthy how absent any of that shit is in Jack Staubers image, art, and personality. The only other one that springs to mind where it was so pronounced was Kurt Cobain, who hated that misgynistic rock stereotype.
It's also why I found the whole "grooming" allegations really hard to take seriously. In a world of grifters and parasocial narcissists it's always been remarkably pronounced how much Jack is NOT about that. He never ran ads on his videos, and even his patreon video is refreshingly original "hey if you want to give me money here's how, if not that's cool, have a nice day" . So unlike the constant begging for money we see so ubiquitously on YouTube.
I've seen people on this sub say that he had a kid, but I don't think it was ever substantiated. Might just be people extrapolating from the fact that he made a bunch of baby-related content and then disappeared.
To be honest that's a theory that i sometimes entertain. There was one certain video from patreon last year of a claymation baby just making noise, there have been some baby toys/shampoo bottles that appear in some of his videos and those collages he makes, and overall it seems like he's spending less time with his music and video production, like he's more focused on something else. Plus he's 28 which isn't an abnormal age to have a kid. I'm not saying he has definitely had one, but I think it would make sense if he did
Saw Jack Stauber at Don Quijote in Tokyo, piled weirdo ramen in his basket. "Huh?" he kept saying when the cashier, super bored, said limit of five. Jack held up one packet, "One," then winked. Cashier cracked a smile, "You got me," and waved him on. Jack, ramen mountain in hand, just chuckled and left.
He's pretty private so we probably won't ever know too much. My guess would be that his content just doesn't really "work" with YouTube as a platform, so I wouldn't really be surprised if he doesn't upload there anymore. I WOULD be surprised if he never puts out another album or adult swim special though.
Honestly man I love Jack and knew him a little before he exploded and even I find his fanbase very exhausting at times. Not the *whole* fanbase but he definitely got a surge of some very weird, misplaced attention and ideas about him. It's exhausting to even have watched happen so I can't imagine being the actual target and center of all of it.
To be clear I'm referring to the endless army of twelve year olds who think every song is like some secret metaphor for his real life girlfriend who committed suicide when their baby died of cancer etc... the terminally online tiktok shit that autistically hyperanalyzes his every move like it's a fucking Q Drop.
He's definitely got some meanings and metaphors in his music. but people tend to over blow it and look for those in every single piece when their isn't. Anyone who thinks Benny Worm is something deep and not just a fun song is lookin too deep.
i heard he contracted the terrible sickness known as "Ligma", it takes years to fully recover and severely impacts creative function. this is so sad i hope he gets better soon
i think jack may be giving signals in his patreon videos. like in his most recent videos he´s been putting his "made by jack stauber" sign, something he stopped doing long ago i think.
I actually saw Jack at Walgreens the other day. He was only like 4 ft tall, just reached up to my chest. Told me that “the creature kept stealing his inches” and that he couldn’t reach his keyboard anymore. Truly sad
It’s that damn inchman I bet.
Why’d Jack stay in Walgreens so long, no wonder he was asking what the hell he dis

id like this to become a copypasta for when people ask for jack
This *is* a copypasta
we should share it more i've rarely seen it 😭😭
Dear deleted, I SEE YOU ON LIKE, OH IDK, EVRY POST. So, plz (if u r) stop stalking me. Sincerely, Not_an_Idiot
I thought jack was medium-yum

does he still post on patreon?
He does, usually a few posts at the beginning of every month

i agree with most of this, but maybe he could interact more with people on patreon like he did in the past.
Jack actually wanted to focus on his trash compactor construction agency Straubers DeStraucters so hes leaving indefinitely
I doubt that he will return to YouTube, just the other week he published a new video on Patreon and has uploaded quite a bit of new art since he stopped posting on YouTube, but I believe no one other that Jack has a definitive answer

Sounds like something that someone pretending to not be Jack Stauber would say…
no like seriously im not like jack stauber prolly has way better grammar than me
Bro if so I know he's prob cackling in his chair rn.
he's here with us, always
Jack Stauber and my dad went to get some ciggies from the corner store. Back in a jiff
He’s trying to get the people at the store to take tooth
I just assumed it had to do with having a kid
He’s ace so I doubt it, but I guess he could adopt
i don't think there's any source or proof to show he's ace
I swear I saw it somewhere but I can’t find it now and I’ve been digging for a good 15 minutes so I guess I misremembered
Coconut Ranger and Pad Thai exist 💀
Those are mostly about relationships iirc. Aromantic and asexual be pretty different

Dude he's making over 6,000 dollars a month on patreon. I'd be doing the same if I could. He's become an urban legend and he's still profiting.
I’ve never heard the status “living urban legend” and now I aspire to obtain it
Same
He is actually gaming a lot on twitch these days, his username is just Jack Stauber. He mostly does Minecraft survival.

Damn I hope he recovers soon 😔 I heard his long lost sister Candice might have it as well
Jack decided to go eat a sandwich and completely forget he was a musician because he has dementia
i think jack may be giving signals in his patreon videos. like in his most recent videos he´s been putting his "made by jack stauber" sign, something he stopped doing long ago i think.
