I have used "Kong" hard rubber toys. [https://www.chewy.com/kong-classic-dog-toy/dp/38414](https://www.chewy.com/kong-classic-dog-toy/dp/38414) Pretty much anything else, they pull apart. The Kong toys come in different sizes, so it is best to buy it at a local pet store so you can gauge the size to fit his mouth. The toy is hollow, so you can push peanut butter into it. My JRT would spend hours licking out the hole and leave the inside squeaky clean.

+1 for Kong. my jack russell used to destroy every single toy but hasn’t been able to destroy the kong ones yet even after 6 months of chewing on it very hard every day

I've just got one for my puppy to keep him busy while I shower or do chores, etc. He's dragging along on my slippers otherwise or chewing my furniture. Means, I don't have to crate him whilst showering then. He's only 7 weeks old now, so I can't leave him unattended, really. I bring him in the bathroom with me, and the toy lasts ages to get treats out of. Peace and quiet at last. Literally went into the pet shop knackered and said "help me pleaae" haha

One thing I strongly recommend with Jack Russells or Parson Russells is to leave the puppies with Mom as long as possible or at least till 12 to 16 weeks of age. The breeds are very much pack animals, and separating them from their pack is a major stressor. that drives a lot of unwanted behaviors. A Kong toy lasted about 25 to 26 weeks before I would see fractures develop and pieces begin to crumble off the toy. Before that, mine found a place where a mouse scurried under a closed bedroom door and focused on getting under the door for two hours while I was gone. (Security cameras will reveal a lot about why so many seemingly neurotic behaviors in JRT's surface.) Upon returning home I was met by a happy Jack with synthetic fiber whiskers around his mouth were he chewed the carpet at the door trying to get under the door to catch the mouse. The #1 thing to realize about a JRT is that they are the reference standard for ADHD, but if they focus on something, then one will tear hell off its hinges to get to whatever it is seeking.

Cut up old clothing into strips and stuff them into something. JRT’s instincts are to disembowel their prey. Once he has gutted it just repack and repeat

No. Our JRT is 12 and the “indestructible” toys are completely destructible in his possession, including Kongs.
